"What...hmm." Sophia stopped herself short. She didn't want to sound rude, but her curiosity always got the best of her; despite what her mind was saying, her heart always won. She just had to know what kind of trials and tribulations Tristan went through...what could be so horrible?
"Anna, what's up with Tristan? I mean, if it isn't too much to ask...." She felt her voice get small. "What kind of pain was Tristan in?"

Alright now came the part where Anna wasn't sure that she should say more. She could definatly understand what Tristan was going through but only to a certain extent. Well, maybe if she said a little bit she could find out something to help her boyfriend. But still, was this really info that could be broadcast? Then again the newspapers had published one of the casualties, the guy had been a professor here once upon a time after all. Perhaps it was best to start off slowly.
"How about we start like this." Anna said slowly. "When I was little, my grandfather was murdered by a gang of dark wizards. It was cowardly the way they...took him. It wasn't a formal duel, they just snuck into his house and killed him. I've had a thing about dark magic ever since that time. For the longest time...I was just so depressed and angry, grandpa had been one of the most important...well you get it." She stopped for a second to collect her thought as well as to unclench her fist that formed while thinking about the scum. "Both of Tristan's parents had been killed by dark wizards as well."

"Oh my gosh." Sophia covered her mouth in horror. She knew what it was like to lose someone unfairly. It was never hard for her to share her feelings, but when they were so heavy and so serious, it hurt. "My...my aunt was killed by dark wizards. My mum hardly ever talks about it, but I'm pretty sure that it was...it wasn't pretty." She stood there, her arms now crossed, feeling a little insecure. Her mum was a pretty private person and really didn't talk about things much, not even her own family. It was strange.
She could feel the tension in the hallway. "Does that mean that Tristan's an orphan? Does he live with relatives? Or...oh...I don't mean to pry, honest." She felt herself flush. "If you don't want to talk about it, I can respect that."

Anna shook her head, "No it is alright. I believe he lives with his grandmother now. Not something that is a secret really." she paused for a moment before going on. "I'm sorry about your aunt, really I am. It must have been very tough for you family." The rest of Tristan's story was a little too depressing to tell and the gryff wasn't sure whether or not she had the right to continue with it. She also knew about his uncle what was a professor here unfortuanatly he commited suicide for reasons unknow, well unknown to her at least. However there was no reason to intensify the atmosphere of the place further. Sophia had at least an idea of what her boyfriend faced.

"At least Tristan has two people in his life that he can count on. Two's better than none." She tried to say cheerfully, but the mood was so thick and heavy with gloom that it overtook her.
"I'm sorry about your aunt, really I am. It must have been very tough for you family."
"Thanks. I don't really know why my aunt was killed, though. My mother's very secretive about her family and her past and stuff. It's awfully suspicious." Her father, Bren, was always the family man, always one to talk about the relatives. Her mother, however, would clam up at the very sound of 'Rossineaux'. It was exceedingly strange and awkward seeing as the Rossineauxs were an extremely old and powerful wizarding family in France, but Sophia never found the nerve to push her mother into detail.
"So the question still remains of what to do with this...this book." Sophia said, feeling her own head pulse a little. It was painful to see how Tristan's decisions were hurting the ones who loved him the most. She couldn't help but wonder what was in that dumb book in the first place that was so enticing to read, but so detrimental to everyone else.

As much as Anna hated dark wizards and she really does despise them, it was better not to let that anger come into play here. Right now she was worried about Tristan and he was top of the list at the moment. So what were they going to do about the strange little book? Anna was still up for sneaking into his room to take a look at it but as Sophia said before it was probably better to just talk to him about it. However that plan did not work so well either when he talked to her in the owlery. Speaking of talking, maybe Drew would have some clue what was going on. He and Tristan were friends after all and perhaps he noticed how strange the boy was now.
"I have no clue what do do with that little thing." Anna said sourly, "I'm still up for stealing it but I suppose that would be wrong." But then she continued on a lighter note, "Or perhaps you can help me trap him in a room while I try to get him to talk. Then again, he might just start talking in werid quotes again so I might need some kind of translator."

"Hmmm." Sophia ran that scenario in her mind. Tristan entered the Common Room...one guard at the portrait, one guard at both of the dormitories...this could work. Wait. Sophia was certain that Anna would probably want to keep this situation as under cover as possible. If too many people became involved, it would most certainly get hectic.
"Maybe we could trap him in an empty classroom or something! He would have the book with him, right?" She knew that this plan was a lot less risky than than the Common Room...but then again, the whole idea of cornering Tristan was risky in itself.

"That could work..." Anna said slowly trying to think it through. Trapping Tristan in an empty room would be pratical but hopefully he wouldn't try anything funny, him being a seventh year and all. Of course he wouldn't try to spell his girlfriend but he could summon the little book back or something if Anna did manage to take it. "The common has too many people and there would be no way I could catch him in his own room. But then how do we take the book away from him? Something tells me that he would not just hand it over when asked." she continued with a sigh.

"Yeah, he does seem really attached." Sophia pondered the idea of hiring some assassin-ninja man who'd take the book without him knowing. Of course, men like that really didn't exist, or to her knowledge they didn't. If they did, there probably would be no way of her knowing, though. Ninjas would be really cool to have in the school and...And now I'm completely off topic. What was I talking about? Book, Tristan, taking it away...right.
"I mean, is there a teacher that you trust who could help out?" Teachers always seemed to be the good guys in Sophia's eyes, and she never met a teacher that she couldn't trust even the tiniest bit.
"Where did he even get the book from? Is it from the library? Could the librarian take it away?"

"I don't really know about a teacher that could take the book away. We could try our Head of House but Tristan is a prefect so I'm not too sure how well that would go." Perhaps that would work but then they would have to explain exactly what was going on and the gryff wasn't exactly sure that she should rat on him for the book. At least, the situation doesn't seem to call for that just yet. But definatly it wasn't something to rule out.
Now the librarian idea sounded like something. "That could work, can we figure out a way to tell her that Tristan took a book from the restricted section without permission? I don't think the book is from there but if we invent a story like that..." Dear, dear, resorting to such sneaky methods was definatly not Anna's style of handling things. If only she could just demand for the book...wait a minute. "Tristan is one of my chasers." she said quickly. "Do you think I could just tell him to give me the thing as his captain?"

"Do you think I could just tell him to give me the thing as his captain?"
"Omigosh, Anna! You're brilliant!" Sophia gushed. "It's perfect! You have authority over him in that sense. Tell him that the book is affecting his flying or something! It could definitely work!" It sounded like a fool-proof plan, or at least she thought so. "Or you could do a bag check, like they do with muggle athletes; y'know, how they check for drugs? It would totally work!"
She was so excited for Anna and for the plan. Not only would Anna feel better, but Tristan would finally realize what that book did to their relationship.
"I would totally be willing to come to the next game and help out, if you needed it." She added.

"Yes, that would be much appreciated." Anna said quickly when Sophia offered to help at the next game. But anyway it definatly seemed like the best plan though she would rather not do this. Tristan had autority at school but her's was on the pitch. But perhaps if she really did force him to hand over the book that way he would realize how worried she was since it was against her character to do something like that.
"Though, I could talk to him after the next practice. The sooner I get this off my chest the better. Besides, I think his flying would be affected if we waited until game day. Actually, I don't know if he might leave it in the locker."

Sophia rethought the plan. Maybe her excitement clouded her judgement a smidge. It would seem a bit rash to just go searching through his bags on such short and awkward notice. Suppose that he didn't even take it with him that day? Anna would be left looking awfully suspicious, and she didn't want to put Anna in a bad light whatsoever, especially with Tristan.
Talking to him after practice sounded less intimidating. "Yeah, that sounds like a good plan." She agreed with Anna, and the sooner by all means the better. "That way he probably won't totally freak out. Maybe he'll freak out just a little." There was no doubt in her mind that Anna would shock him and he'd be a tiny bit angry and confused, but given the current circumstance, it was a small price to pay.
