Fiona took the hint and pursed her lips, deciding it was better to change the subject off the Ministry anyhow. It was still a tender subject for the woman to brood on. Bloody gits they all were that night!
"Me? Well...I worked on research in the U.S. for quite some time. Trying to take over the world..." Fiona placed a teasing smile on her face to let Rob know that she was joking. Or at least make him think she was. Couldn't have her own staff suspecting her of anything, now could she? "How about you? What kind of research were you doing?" she asked in return.

The U.S., now that explained allot, including why his personal background search turned up nothing. It only left him all the more curious. Why here, surely the Yanks had a better system...
"Genesis, last I checked was still classified, so, that I can't comment on. Before that it was mostly field work, searching for new plants, making sure endangered and threatened one's still existed. Trying to keep our Far East counterparts content..." Robert replied with a small chuckle.
Kuroda , Yi, and Choso had been officially the biggest pains in his side in his career, and with his career still being young in age that said something. So he'd shown them up, no reason for two of them to pull wands...or was it?

"Classified. Scientists seem to favor that term, including my own team." Fiona's lips pulled back in a grin that did actually reach her eyes. She shook her head. "Did you bring any new plants to add to our greenhouses? Surely we have the resources to keep them alive?" the Headmistress inquired, leaning forward in her chair to slowly sip her scalding hot tea.

"Classifed generally means leaked out within three months of the completion date which should be, if all went well, in seven weeks." Robert replied initially, a small chuckle escaping for a brief moment, Small, but well needed.
"New plants maddam, I try, I have a few en route, but until they arrive, no, we all know how strict initial customs are these days." He claimed with a small grin. The grin meaning the plants themselves were already in country. Merely, on their way to Hogsmeade. Even a goody goody, had untapped and generally untraceable sources.

A smirk lifted the corners of her mouth. Leaked out within three months from his association was the precise opposite of what happened in the U.S. The government she had worked under so many years meant that when something was classified and you leaked something out, you were quickly silenced by what ever means available. But that was only for certain matters, one of which partof the research team's results were a major part of.
"Of course." she nodded. "Would you happen to be houising any orchids in your greenhouses, Mr. Shaw?" the Headmistress inquired with a hopeful glint to her eyes.

"Always, Greenhouse Ten, feel free to pay a visit at any time." Robert replied with a small smile. Orchids, just because they wern't on the bloody curriculum didn't mean he didn't have them. Honestly. he probably had more plants here than the Ministry knew about.
The next task, would be tosee if the Genesis seeds would germanate or not. If they did, he himself would have completed the project before those ungrateful and selfish blokes he had called 'partners'.

A smile lit the pureblood's face. While she wanted to kill off every unworthy Muggle, half-blood/Mudblood, didn't mean she couldn't enjoy the simpler things in life that lived. "Would you mind if I absconded with a few to liven up my office? There's too much stone and not enough life." Fiona asked earnestly. She had been so terribly busy that summer that she hadn't gotten a chance to bring along a few of her own with her from her home in the U.S.

"Not at all, feel free to stop by at your convenience. You have every right to after all, they are technically more your greenhouses than mine." Robert countered, a small joking smudge of a look on his face.
Orchids were nice, personally though he preferred the night time essence of moon flowers.

"True. But asking your permission makes me feel less guilty when you find a selection of your plants missing. Besides, you might go crazy on the students thinking it was them that stole them." Fiona grinned broadly. Going crazy on certain students wouldn't be all that bad if they were guilty of other things anyway.

"Indeed, though it would provide some amusing entertainment as they denied over and over again the theft, all the while trying to figure out who 'framed' them." Robert replied chuckling, that small glint of past mischief returning to his eyes. A glint not seen for 14 years, not so obvious at least. Perhaps it had shown itself briefly, but never like this.
And the sad thing was, it felt good to have that feeling again. his emotional tension was, now, receding, slowly, slipping back within containable levels.
"I assure you Headmistress, if there is anything in the greenhouses I do not have, that you should require, I can send some owls and procure it." Robert proclaimed, though, this was probably true, as he had many a contacts in his field who owed him favors. It would just take a little time depending on what was needed.

An easy smile flitted across Fiona's smooth features at Robert's offer. While she could always buy the plants and culture them herself, it was much easier to dump the work on someone more willing to do it. Besides, since the man still didn't seem too sure about which side of the world he wanted to belong to, she might be able to veer him onto the better view. "Why thank you, Mr. Shaw. I'll be sure to remember that if I ever require something." she claimed, her tone only slightly insincere. Sooner or later, she was sure, she was going to need to bring his offer to his attention.
Blue eyes trailed down to the untouched tea. Drat. It had gotten cold during their conversation. Ahh...a heating spell would work just nicely. Fiona snapped back to attention so she was looking at her Herbology professor once more. "So, anywho...What else is it that you would like to know about me that I would be able to tell you?"

And so that was settled quickly enough. Quicker than he had expected actually. With all the information he now had of this woman, Ticloon, he still knew not as to where she stood in the current times. Perhaps, as indifferent as he, after all, he held much against those bearing The Mark and their followers. Yet, felt he could enact fair enough revenge without the need of more bloodshed.
Yet, he could not so openly ask such a question. That, would surely raise suspicion. And too much of that was just as dangerous a foe.
"Whatever you deem, reasonable, sharable, if you would. I do not, after all, wish to ask something that would seem...prying." Robert stated in reply to the woman's inquiry. After all, too much prying usually dug oneself a rather deep hole with no ladder.

A slight smirk twitched the corners of Fiona's mouth. "There isn't much to pry into, Mr. Shaw. Ask awya and I will tell you what I can." she lied smoothly. When he signed up to be on her staff, he had already handed her the shovel. He just didn't know that just yet. Only if he...misbehaved would that little fact ever reveal itself.
