Reina shook her head at Sonja. The girl was quite evil which was good, but putting Deryn in a full body bind wouldn't work. They could modify her memory so that she doesn't know and can't explain that they put a curse on her.
"Hey, I just thought about modifying her memory. When she 'recovers' we can say she's always been unable to talk ever since the 'accident'. We'll even tell her we're her bestfriends."
Reina laughed. They were totally going to screw with her this girl's life.

As much as Sonja wanted to screw with Deryn, modifying her memory was taking it a little far. Sonja cursed herself for feeling sympathy, but she spoke up before Reina could do anything. "Come on, isn't that a little much? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to play with our new little pet, but couldn't we just drop her in the lake or something?" Sonja said. It wa meant to be a joke, but dropping Deryn in the lake seemed like a better idea then modifying her memory. And of course, that seemed a little too easy. Sonja wanted to have a little more fun.

Deryn couldn't believe what she was hearing. Sonja had actually spoken up in her defense. Deryn wouldn't care if they threw her in the lake, as long as her memory stayed the same. At that moment, tons of memories came flooding back to Deryn. Memories of her mum and how much fun they used to have. Memories of her dad, of them playing Quidditch and spending time together. Memories of them all as a family before they were ripped apart. Even memories from the Muggle school she had gone to for so long. The thought of having all that erased was enough to make her cry, but Deryn kept a strong face. Without her wand, Deryn would fight the both of them if she had to, anything to keep her memories.

Reina smiled evially. She was on a roll and wasn't going to let this one go.
"Nope, I think modifying her brain will be real nice. Actually I feel another 'accident' coming on."
Reina twirled her wand, but stopped short. She smiled back at Sonja while tilting her head.
"Give me 3 good reasons why I shouldn't modify this little lions brain. 3!"

Panic began to spread through Sonja. She cursed herself again for caring, and put her hand out to stop Reina's wand. "First of all, she's going to be my step-sister soon and when this gets back to my mum, there'll be hell to pay and I won't take the blame by myself. Second, even if we were goin' to modify her mind, we shouldn't do it out in the open where we might get caught and third, it's too easy. We should have a little more fun and cause a little more pain before we put her out of her misery. The longer we torture her, the more fun it will be, right?" Sonja hoped her reasons were good enough. They were all true, too. The last thing she wanted was to have her mother on her case about this and quite frankly, she was scared of what would happen.
Modifying someone's memory was a big thing. It changes their life forever and Sonja wasn't sure she could do it. She could kill someone, but she couldn't modify a memory. She was a Slytherin right to the core, but this just didn't seem right.

Reina laughed. She wouldn't modify anyone's memory. Not here on campus. That was mad stupid, but she did find out some true qualities about the young slytherin. One no matter how she acted she truly did care for the Deryn. She would probably firght for Deryn if she got into trouble. Also information on her moms and she wasn't comfortable with messing with people's mind, well not permanently.
"Interesting. I find that most people, when put in a situation to explain things explain things in a most important to least important order. So the fact fact she's your step sister and all that jazz weight heavily on you. Not matter about your mums, because if you truly didn't care the most your moms could do was send you a howler IF she found out. Interesting. What age did you two meet?"

"We actually just met about 10 minutes ago," Sonja confessed, "I had only known OF her before that. My stupid mother is dating her oaf of a father. Makes me sick." Sonja crossed her arms and glanced at Deryn, snorting in disgust. It was at that very moment that it really hit Sonja that she and Deryn would soon be related, so she figured she had to be somewhat nice to her. After all, she could be useful down the road somewhere.
"And believe me," Sonja continued, "If my mum did find out, a Howler would be a nice treat compaired to what she would do. I've no doubt that she'd actually come to the school and drag me home by my ear." Sonja subconciously rubbed her ear, as if she could already feel her mother yanking on it. Not very many things in the world truely scared Sonja, but her mother was one of them.

Deryn wanted very much to slap Sonja across the face. How dare she talk about her father like that! Deryn would have hit her too, if the other Snake hadn't been there. The odds were indeed against her as of this moment. Perhaps another Lion would come along and save her. But of course, that was just wishful thinking.
A smirk appeared on Deryn's face at the thought of watching Sonja getting dragged out of the castle by her ear. She would have laughed if she could even make a sound. Instead, she just laughed in her head. Finding this a little creepy, Deryn stopped. She shoved her hands into her pockets, and found that her wand was still in it. It would be useless though. Even if she tried to use it, nothing would happen because she still couldn't talk.
As she watched the Snakes talking, Deryn saw her chance for a break. She stood up slowly and carefully so she wouldn't make too much noise. She thought she saw Sonja's head turning back towards her, and that was when she ran. She turned and scrambled up the stairs as fast as she could, desperately trying to get away from Sonja and Reina.

Reina laughed. There were so many ways to stop the lion, but if the other snake wanted her to get away than Reina wasn't going stop her.
"Hmmm! She's getting away. " Reina replied lazily. "Perhaps we should go lion hunting?"
Though Reina didn't really mean it. She was already bored of the girl and unless she could make her go crazy there was no more fun in the game.
