Charlotte had only stepped through the Entrance shortly beforehand. She had done her duties, and talked to the adults she was supposed to, and then left in the dust. Something was up apparently, something she was unaware of, and she had no idea how to proceed to her new home. Hufflepuff. She was scared, the daunting school building already taking its toll on the girl. She took a few cautious steps and looked around, and comparing them to the instructions in her hand. She merely had to follow these direction to get to her destination, but she had already been warned of the foreign objects that often liked to move themselves in this building. Which could only hinder her desire to make to the proper destination. She took a few more steps and took a breath and made her way forward. She prayed that she wouldn't get lost quite yet.
She did her best to attempt to follow the meager directions and only managed to get herself competely and utterly lost. She had passed by numerous portraits, statues, and corridors leading in numerous different directions. Stopping to identify something that compared to her directions she noticed nothing matched.
"Lovely," she said to herself in a quiet voice,"Just lovely."

"What's lovely?" Lily asked. She was starved and decided she might come down for something to eat in the great hall. She wasn't in any particular rush, she wasn't starving starving. It was just an expression after all. There was a time when it might have applied, but not now. So therefore, she posed to the girl that question.

Charlotte heard a voice, and immediately flinched. Yes, on the first day of school, caught talking to herself. She was tempted to snap at the newcomer, for old habits die hard, but her brother had specifically asked her to be nice, and even friendly. She turned slowly and delibrately--for what, she did not know.
"Lovely is the mess I've gotten myself in."
Her cinnamon eyes swept over the newcomer, she didn't seem too dangerous. Yet.

"And what mess would that be?" Lily asked politely, coming to a stop in front of the girl. She did a quick once over. The girl was, of course, taller than she. It was anyone's guess what year she was in. It was somewhere around her year though - she knew that for sure.

"I'm new here,"she replied in a quiet and even voice,"And I don't know where my common room is." She was upset that she felt so utterly lost. She hated that she hadn't been able to follow what she was lead to believe were 'simple' directions. She had no idea which direction to continue, and she was tired. Bloody tried, beyond all belief. It had been an exceptionally long first day and she just wanted a chance to lay down.

(Mind if I thread-crash?)
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh!" the loud yell echoed throughout the floor. Along with numerous thuds, bangs, and crash sounds. A tapestry nearby the two girls was pulled to the ground as young Abigail Bennett tangled herself in the cloth hanging and groaned in pain. She held her sides as she curled up in a small ball, her head now pounding and a few large cuts beginning to seep blood along her legs and arms. The Huffle, very unwisely, decided to sprint from the third floor down to the common room and took two steps at a time. She tripped and toppled down a flight of stairs of maybe fifteen or twenty steps, and now caught up in a tapestry, deeply began to regret her decision.
Slowly opening her eyes, Abby realized the presence of two older girls-one she recognized and one she didn't. Her cheeks going red with embarrassment, the first year began to uncurl and pull herself up into a sitting position atop the tapestry.

(Not in the least)
Charlotte immediately at the sound of a scream and several crashes. She saw a much younger student tangled in a nearby tapestry, bleeding. Her cinnamon eyes widened as she saw the handful of injuries the girl had sustained. The newcomer reminded her of her little sisters...That thought alone made her catch her breath. She wouldn'd dare think of home, not think of the situation she was in. Mentally she shook herself.
She took a few steps towards the younger girl, and offered her hand outsretched to help her out of the tapestry. Shaking her head slightly in disbelief, she merely asked "Are you alright?"

Alright, so Lily and this girl - she didn't know her name, hadn't got along the best in the past. She had been really upset that day, over what, well she couldn't really remember now. But still the girl looked really hurt. Would they need the hospital wing? Not wanting to repeat the question the other girl had asked, she simply came closer and stood there.

Rubbing her head with one hand and taking Charlotte's offered hand with the other, Abby pulled herself to her feet with the help of the new Hufflepuff. "Yeah...I think so," she answered quietly with a wince. The talking made her head hurt worse. Abigail squeezed her eyes tight, making the pain go away for the moment but only causing the first year to feel a searing pain on her right arm and leg. Abby pulled up the sleeve of her robe and pant leg, leaning against the wall for support, and winced once more at the sight of blood dripping from two short slices. Figuring she must have cut it on something on the flight down, Abigail squeezed the sleeve of her robes as she rolled it up so it wouldn't fall back down. "Just a couple of cuts. Either of you have a tissue or something?" Luckily the common room was only a floor below, and Abby could sprint...er, walk quickly to grab some band-aids. She had already learned her lesson.
Rolling up her pant leg as well, Abigail glanced at each of the scrapes--blood was not an easy stain to get out of clothes. She held up her arm so that the blood wouldn't drip down her arm or back into her robes and tried to hold her leg likewise.

The younger girl looked absolutely worse for wear as she took Charlotte's outstrecthed hand, and Charlotte wished there was something she could do for her. She watched as the younger girl rolled up her clothing to show more wounds, with more blood dripping from them. Her cinnamon eyes glazed over with concern. "Yes, I have a tissue somewhere here..."she said trailing off, and began rooting through her pockets to find a tissue. "Are you quite sure you're alright, you don't look so well." She said, having found the tissue and handing it over to the girl. She supposed introductions might be helpful at this point. "I'm Charlotte by the way,"she said cringing as she counted the numerous cuts and bruises the other girl had recieved.

"Thanks," she murmured as she gratefully accepted the crinkled tissue and ripped it in two, placing each half on one of the cuts and applying steady pressure so to hopefully stop the blood flow. "I'm Abigail, or Abby if you prefer," she introduced herself, for most people called her Abby anyway. "Nice to meet you," she added with a forced smile. Abby would've offered her hand; however, that was kind of difficult at the moment.
The first year caught the girl's cringe. "It's really not as bad as it looks," she said looking at the cuts and bruises herself. "I just have to grab some band-aids and get something to get rid of this headache." Abigail squeezed her eyes shut once more for her hands weren't available to rub her head. She then looked over at Lily. "Hello," she greeted quietly, almost hoping the Ravenclaw didn't remember her. Than again, Abby hadn't done anything mean to the fifth year in the first place.

"It's no problem at all. And it's nice to meet you too, Abby. And I know something that will we can do for your cuts, that is if you want might help."
Charlotte was more than willing to help, she just did not want to outstep her boundaries. There was a small transfiguration spell her father had taught her, the simpest of spells. It would transform small bits of cloth or other such objects in to band-aids or whatever else the situation deemed necessary. Her father had always needed that spell in dealing with her twin sisters--and the havok they always caused. Charlotte's concern for the younger girl almost distracted her enough from the strange greeting the first girl her age had with Abby. It was a strange greeting to say the least. I wonder what happened between, she thought to herself. Her main concern was helping if that was what was needed of her.
She was so caught up by Abby's tumble and tapestry mess she almost forgot the foul mood she had been in upon arrival to her new school. She barely had time to dwell on it now, but she new it was something that would please her brother... to know her foul mood had been abated for some time at least.

"And I'm Lily," she said, concluding the introductions. "Hold on a moment," she searched her overstuffed bag she always carried. "I know I have some here somewhere . . . Aha!" She produced a handful of band-aids. "For when my blisters pop," she explained, as though she need an explination as to why she had started carrying them around.

Abigail quickly took the band-aids with a smile of relief. "Thanks," she said again while peeling off the paper and stuffing the wrappers into her robes pocket before sticking a band-aid on each cut. The bleeding halted for the time being, and Abigail rolled her pant leg and robe sleeve back down and stood up.
"Do you know any spell that'll make this headache go away?" she asked Charlotte, referring to the thing the older girl had mentioned about helping Abby. She would gladly accept something for that.

((super sorry--I was forced to go out of town unannounced))
Charlotte didn't think her help would be needed once Lily handed the band-aids to Abby. She gently brushed the black hair out of her eyes when Abby asked her if she knew any spells that helped with headaches. She knew plenty. Dealing with her sister always gave her as well as anyone else a dreadful headache. She pulled out her wand, and steadied her hand.
"I know a few, they're meant to work immediately. Would you like me to use one?"
