Connor nodded his head in a greeting to the girl’s mother. “ It’s nice to meet you Emory, you too Mrs. Taylor. “ He rather liked the young girls name, it was interesting and he had never heard it before. Her enthusiasm was pleasant as she introduced her mother and herself to him. As Emory’s mother left, Connor turned his attention back to the incoming first year just as she informed him of what house she wanted to be placed in.
“ Slytherin, huh? I’m sure you’ll make it. Has anyone else in your family been in Slytherin? “ Connor found it interesting sometimes that entire generations were in the same house while attending Hogwarts. It was a bit unreal for him to think about, as most of his family had attended wizarding schools elsewhere.

"It's a pleasure."Emory said quickly as she watched her mother leave, but turned her attention back to Connor when she couldn't see her anymore. "Mum was in Ravenclaw I think...But i don't want to be in there.." She replied simply. Emory couldn't help but develop a small crush for the older boy, but she knew better. He was way out of her league. Emory couldn't help but to giggle softly. She brushed her blonde hair out of her eyes and sighed softly. She was gonna have to get used to this place...Well it wouldn't take her long, so she thought.
"Oi. I might get lost here..."She whispered as she crossed her arms gently frowning as she looked. Of course, Emory didn't mind the occasional "getting lost" scenario. She usually found her way again. But then again, those were smaller places she explored with her best friend Sarah... and Sarah wasn't here with her.. Emory was kinda scared.

A mischievous, or perhaps a haphazard, careless grin spread across Chris' face as the girl went down. He wasn't laughing at her, but being impetuous, certain things did prompt him to smile in place of outright laughter. These were definitely awkward situations, though, and he offered the girl his hand.
"Please excuse my mum," he flashed a very mature, perhaps frighteningly so, serious face at his mother before softening his features into a smile again and returning his attention to the girl. She told him her name and Chris crinkled his features again. Hjort? A Swedish name maybe? Norwegian? (Merlin forbid Felicity had any type of connexion, cultural or otherwise, with his mother!) "She's been here with my brothers before. That's one of them, actually," Chris indicated Caleb, who'd broken free of his step-mother's grip and was looking around in what Chris supposed was nostalgia. "Caleb - he was in Hufflepuff House two years ago." He guessed they'd never met, based on Felicity's answer to Caleb's half-question, half-mutter, and in realizing this, Hogwarts got a lot bigger in Chris' mind. They couldn't have been in the same house, but if they had been... then Hogwarts must be every bit as big, inside, as it looked outside.
"So what house are you, Felicity?" Chris kept a kindly smile on his face in attempt to alleviate the stinging imprudence of his mother. "You can't possibly be a Slytherin - you're too nice." (too much - or confectioner sugar sweet?)

Drew looked around, still not sure what he was supposed to do. It looked like almost all of the older students had teamed up with an incomming firstie. Was he supposed to bust up whatever the others had started to get a tour going? He didn't think that would be reallycool.
He saw a few kids and their families standing off to the side, so he figured his best option would be to approach one of them.
"Hey, welcome to Hogwarts," he greeted them with a smile. He probably shouldn't have started off so casually, but that was just who he was. "I'm Drew Thornton, Ravenclaw."

Taking the younger boy's hand, Felicity pulled herself up so she was back on her feet. Not usually one to be embarrassed too badly, she didn't think anything of the fall, other than a few graced thoughts of what the mum thought. Though, why should it matter? She was a rather stuffy bird as far as the blonde was concerned and if she didn't want to go through this again, why did she show up?
Nodding to the boy, she had an indication the other boy was a sibling, or maybe a cousin. They looked enough alike and he definitely wasn't old enough to be the boy's father. Caleb from Hufflepuff? That would now make two she knew. One who'd be graduating that year, and one from a couple of years previous.
"Oh, that's why I don't know him then. I only just started last here last fall," the honey-brown eyed girl told Chris. A small giggle escaped Felicity as she smiled at the boy again. "I'm in Gryffindor actually. And really, not all the Slytherin's are mean. I've met a couple of them who are really nice."
Defending a number of Slytherins she knew, Felicity even glanced over at Connor. He was nice she supposed, but Es was really nice, and Charlie...well...she was difficult. It was best to leave it at that. "So Chris, are you looking forward to starting school here?"

She wasn't really sure if he was talking to her or the family a little ways away from her. He probably had not even seen her, but it would be much more interesting if he was talking to her, so she assumed he was. " I'm Kopo," She said, trying to drawing herself up to her full three feet and four inches in a way that did not make her look arrogant. She paused for a moment, to make sure that he knew she was talking to him then continued, " I hope to get into Ravenclaw." She had no reason to hope to get into that house other than it had been the one her father had been in and if this boy was in Ravenclaw then maybe he could put in a good word with whoever chose what houses who went to.

They were finally there. After being carried away by automatic trolleys being carried by "anything". He could hear his parents talk about some invasion, but nothing that Clayton could understand anyways. Once they got off, they headed to the main doors. It was already opened, and they walked in. Wowww..... this place... was awesome... Matty noted on most of the other older students walking around, mingling with the new First years. The Hufflepuff teenager smiled, looking around at all the younger faces. She remembered coming here at such a young age. Matty had accepted magic easier than some others had, and simply took everything in as she went along. The girl searched for any lost-looking students or families. The girl nudged her friend, peering to a young boy and his parents. "Come on, lets go and talk to someone." she whispered, before threading off to the firstie she had seen [ Clayton (:] "Hi there, Welcome to Hogwarts!" she said in a polite, yet encouraging voice. "I'm Matty Wentworth. Do you guys need help with anything?" she asked, looking from the parents to the boy. Casual, though smart. The teen was pretty happy she had offered to take this job, it gave her a sense of satisfaction. Hopefully Tianne would either join her, or find another family, for she didn't want to Raven to miss out or anything.

Tianne was really nervous about what she was meant to do. She had never really been good at just going up and introducing herself to people, in fact, usually it was them that had to do that, and then they'd have to help her. But that was the reason that Tianne had signed up for this thing, as she knew asan adult in the wizarding world, she had to develop confidence in herself. The girl took in a deep breath, and turned around, follwing Matty to the boy that she had just gone up to. She put on a wide grin as seh walked up, as she wanted to make sure that the kids thought that she was nice. As Matty seemed to know what she was doing, she figured that she'd just follow her around for a bit, as there was no point just going to do her own thing, and not knowwhat that 'thing' she was doing was. Tianne merely just smiled at the boy and his parents, letting Matty do what she loved. Be awesome.

One parent on either side of the girls, the Fairchild twins walked as they normally did, swaying from side to side in an over sized robe that hid all their secrets from the world. Selene snickered to herself as she figured that they’d be at least found out by someone who had a list and noticed that there were supposed to be two girls named Fairchild, and not just one, but she didn’t say anything to her father. He already looked as if he was about to strangle anyone who would notice, say, or point out in anyway their daughters deformation. Horrors, what a drag.
How were they supposed to find followers all couped up in side such a small place? Turning her head to Chandra and rolled her eyes and sighed. “This blows major knuts,” she grumbled, looking forward once more.
“Come on girls,” their father whispered. Looks like things are about to start and we don’t want to dilly dally too much, now do we?” Again, Selene rolled her eyes, wishing she could yell out for someone to notice them. However, they still had to go home with these people; she would have rather not hear the massive lecture she’d get from it later.
“Ready for this Chandra? Just let me do all the talking. I think pop would have a major cow if we both spoke.” Walking further into the entrance, their feet clomped and body swayed. It looked like the first years were a giant, short person….either that or the hunch back of notre dame. Either way, they looked funny and Selene hated it. She couldn’t wait till they were in the school by themselves…then, if anyone had a problem with how they looked…she’d just punch their noses in. Problem solved.

It would probably have been understandable if the six-foot something seventh year had missede seeing the girl who was half his height, but no, he had been talking to her.
He grinned when she said she wanted to be a Ravenclaw, feeling a sense of pride of his own house, and while he had no say whatsoever in the matter, he could probably give the girl some helpful hints. "It's a little known fact that the Sorting Hat takes into account what you want," he told the small girl, speaking in a conspiritorial whisper. "It doesn't always always work, but if you ask the Hat, it usually agrees." It had worked for Drew when he had been a firstie and new a few others who had given the hat the request.

Sorting Hat? Did they like pull names out of a hat? That would be a not nearly impressive enough for a magical school. She wondered about how the sorting hat actually worked, but said nothing and listened to what he said. Ask that hat - well she would do that even if it made no sense to her right now she knew it would at the time. "Well, I'm make sure to ask," She replied in a whisper like he was speaking in. She was not sure if he was just playing or if it was actually a secret but she would play along. She briefly smiled then returned to her normal tone of voice when she said, "So, what will we be doing today?"

Drew wasn't sure how to answer that question, but he figured he could make the desicion if he wanted to. Allegra had said to answer questions and show the first years around, so he figured he could do that.
"Pretty much whatever you want to do," he told her, glancing over his shoulder to see if Allegra would counter him. "I mean, if there's stuff you want to know about, or things you want to see, I'm the guy to show them to you."

Her foot next, Chandra followed her parents into the entrance way further, grabbing on with her right hand to her mother’s left, and her left hand grabbing on to Selene’s right. She was scared, nervous and at the same time, in awe. The place was huge, and she almost wondered if it was handicap accessibly. The large staircase just in front of them was a bit overwhelming, but Chandra didn’t say anything. She just blinked hard and leaned on her sister, hugging her slightly.
“It’s ok, Selene. I’m sure we’ll meet someone who…umm…” Chandra didn’t like the idea of gathering followers. Sounded mean to her, but like usual she just didn’t bother talking her out of ideas that she had. Chandra just sighed. “I mean, look at all these people. They seem nice.” She nodded in the hood, and shrugged.
They followed their parents lead as Richard looked around and sighed frustrated like. He was nervous, and Chandra could tell, uptight and tense. He’d be sleeping on the train ride home Chandra just knew it. Ready for this, Chandra? Just let me do all the talking. I think pop would have a major cow if we both spoke. Though it was true, Chandra didn’t know if she liked the idea of Selene taking over full control of their voice. Sounded a bit dangerous to her. “Just don’t be mean, ok? We don’t know these people…they could be nice…” Chandra pleaded in a whisper. This was going to be interesting, to say the least.

Chris nodded vigorously at Felicity's question. "Oh yes," he began before lowering his voice a little. "I'm more eager to get away from home, actually, than to start school...". It was true. He reflected on the stories Caleb and Jerome had recalled for him of the things the Sorting Hat did at the Sorting Ceremony. In one case, Jerome had said it was likely to be quite an affair as the Hat was always hungry and occasionally mistook a random first year for food. 'Usually its a Gryffindor,' Jerome had sneered, his distaste for Gryffindors always apparent. But Felicity was a Gryffindor, and Chris wanted a second opinion on the perils of the Sorting Ceremony.
"You're Gryffindor, eh? Well I suppose Slytherins aren't all bad, just never run into a good one - least not yet." He paused, phrasing the sentence in his mind. "So you've been to this before, I think - what exactly happens at the Sorting Ceremony? My step-brother Jerome says in his year a Gryffindor got eaten by the Hat. Is that likely to happen?" Chris thought the whole story was bullocks but even bullocks had some truth behind it - sometimes.

Feeling just a tad bit awkward for doing so she asked him. “So could you show me around? I mean, I would like to have a general idea of this place so I don’t spend my first week hopelessly lost. But, if you don’t want to or if you’re to busy then that’s ok.” She glanced around, she didn’t see anybody else leaving, maybe she shouldn’t have asked. She looked up at the boy again, was he a trustworthy person? Or was he a gossip? When you were alone with him was he friendly or mean, how much did his personality change depending on who he was with? She liked to know all of these things about everybody around her. She doubted that she would be able this about everybody, it would be very frustrating, but she would learn to deal with it.
