"Open and throw." Snake said, Jax's face was irresistibly close. Of course she was worried about making thing awkward, but she hadn't seen her in months. Finally saying to herself, sod it, she leaned over and gave Jax and quick peck on the lips. She pulled back and grinned a little nervously then returned her attention to the matter at hand. "So, here goes nothing." She reluctantly let go and Jax and went to the the oposide side of the door. She pulled out the portable swamp and tossing into the hall where the first years stood waiting in their nervous groups. (not really sure how it works...) Surely she was never that small. As soon as saw the swamp began to form she withdrew from view, waited a moment then - after a quick grin at Jax - peeked around the door at the firsties.

As Jax listened to Snake, she nodded her head. This was an excellent plan. Imagine a swamp in the middle of the entrance way right before the Great Hall. Not only would the firsties not know what to think about it, but the murky smell would stay in their clothes for weeks…of course, Jax underestimated the house elves powers of cleaning greatly, but if they were in the muggle world, they’d definitely never get the smell out. Jax giggled at the plan and smiled brightly. Her smile only increased, however, when she realized that Snake was leaning in.
Jax closed her eyes, trying not to giggle as she felt Snakes lips press against her own briefly. Her tummy did flips and the butterflies were so great that Jax didn’t know if she’d be able to eat that night, let alone sleep thinking about the next time her and Snake would see each other. Sure, it’d be the next day…but still. Jax really didn’t know what she was doing when it came to kissing back so she just tried to go with it, her face redder than it had been before when Snake had wrapped her arms around her to begin with. Jax sighed slightly, giggling at the same time and bashfully turning her face away from Snakes. Jax was so excited just about everything and she nodded her head when it was time to do their deed.
Snake let go of her and it was as if Jax had something missing from her. It was like a void opened up slightly, of course, it could have been the chill from the outside air that she was feeling without the Gryffindor’s body heat warming her. She figured that was it. Most definitely it the night air, cooling her.
Snake through the portable swamp and both of them quickly dived behind the corner again. After a few minutes, when Snake looked, Jax couldn’t help but take a peek around as well. What she saw was hysterical.
The swamp formed first as a little puddle, and then grew. It was out of control, and besides water, came tall grass, mud, a boggish smell, and it just kept forming. Small trees popped out of apparently no where and grew large mossy limbs that would surely catch in peoples hairs. Oh it was magnificent. It even came with it’s own mosquitoes, which Jax couldn’t believe.
“Oh my God…” Jax said laughing, trying not to laugh too loud. “That’s some swamp. You didn’t say it’d fill the whole ground floor basically!” Jax exclaimed looking at Snake and wrapping and arm around the older girl’s waist. “You’re amazing!” she exclaimed as she continued to laugh.

It was that horrid smell that Sydney noticed first, then the two girls, as they had ducked behind a corner. Sydney didn't have time to see who they were, as now the ground was quickly becoming a swamp. "Merlin's beard!" she shrieked, trying to kick off the slime that was spreading over her feet. "If my robes are ruined, they are dead!" she exploded vehemently, throwing a deathly glare to the corner that hid the culprits.
The pristine hall was now threaded with trees, grass and dang it all, mosquitoes. Sydney swatted in the air, trying to save her face from the unwanted attack. Where was the deputy headmistress? It seemed all too convenient that with her absence, chaos was now storming down upon the unexpected first years. Sydney was now in a full temper, and she would be satisfied, should her fist connect with one or both of those girls' faces. The thought made Sydney smile, even as she realized her face was now blotchy, and swollen. Tears welled up in her eyes, realization that she'd have to face the entire school looking like a freak. Hatred welled up within her, and Sydney gasped at the shock. Sydney never really hated anyone, but she was positive that she disliked completely those two.

After the Deputy Headmistress had left the first years alone, Isabella immediately went back to being absolutely oblivious to everyone around her while she admired the entrance hall. She had done her best to pay attention to everything the woman had said, but she was so amazed with the unbelievably high ceiling, the flagstone floor... just the size of the room was incredible. If this was just the entrance hall, Izzy couldn't wait to see what the rest of the castle looked like.
Wait... was a part of her actually enjoying this?
No, of course not. Sure, what she had seen of the castle so far had been beautiful, but that still didn't mean that she liked it here. She wanted to be home, with her friends at her school. Learning normal stuff. Stuff that didn't require a magic wand. She had actually laughed when her and her mother walked into Ollivander's. Because... magic wands? C'mon now.
And then suddenly, Izzy heard one of the first years mention "Merlin's beard", which she would've laughed at, had it not been for the tone in the unfamiliar girl's voice. Curious, Izzy turned toward the girl and immediately noticed the growing swamp.
"What the...?" she asked, wondering what the bloody hell was going on. She watched it for a few seconds, before realizing that the muck was coming straight toward her. Acting fast, Izzy darted toward the wide marble staircase, anxious to get away from the growing swamp. She climbed up a few steps and turned around to watch as the beautiful hall turned into a swamp, complete with trees. She also noticed several of the first years who had gotten stuck in it.
Sucks to be them.

Kopo, heard laughter from behind her and turned around. Pretending to examine a nearby statue she looked towards the direction the sound had come from. It was not long until something was tossed out of a nearby door. She didn't see who had thrown it and she would love to investigate but she thought that it would be much better if she moved. She spun around and ran to the steps, accidentally knocking down another first year as she did.
She watched as a swamp of all things appeared in the hallway. Having escaped the murkiness of it she aloud herself to smile as she watched some scrambled for the stairs and other just end up right in the middle of it. The mosquito's still reached her, she swatted at them for a moment before deciding it was useless and pulling up the hood of her cloak and her hands into her sleeves but took no other measures against them.
"Neat trick." She muttered to herself as she watched absolute panic exploded in the entrance hall.

Selene was the first out of the two fairchild twins to see what was coming at them. They had been leaning on the wall since they had entered the hall, and finally had caught their breaths enough to stand up straight. Selene's eyes grew wide as she knew that out of any of the first years, her and Chandra were screwed, especially with how fast the water seemed to be coming at them, and the weeds or moss seemed to be forming. Selene didn't know what in all heavens was going on, but she knew if she didn't act fast she and Chandra were not going to be happy campers.
"Chandra....go!" She yelled moving her leg and trying to run, though her sister wasn't completely with her on the uptake. Screaming, Selene held out her hands as she fell forward, splashing face first into the swamp. The smell was atrocious and as she pushed herself up with her hands, she arched her spine and her head back so that if the water rose too much she'd be able to breath still. "Chandra!" she squealed, trying her best not to cry or get sucked in further to the muck.

Something started to smell really bad and Chandra covered her nose, looking around but unable to notice what her sister saw coming straight for them. When Selene exclaimed to go, Chandra looked in the direction Selene was looking and her eyes grew to the size of golf balls. She froze, unable to move from pure shock and fright, so when Selene moved her leg to run, the two conjoined twins began to fall as if they were a huge and utterly moronic giant. Chandra knew it was her fault, but as they were going down into the swampy area, she could hardly think of that through her scream.
Her face plunged into the water, as well as her upper half. Arms flaring, Chandra breathed in accidentally taking in some of the dirty water as she did so. She panicked and tried to scream. It didn't work underneath the surface of the water and as she felt her sister's half push herself up, she followed suit trying to get herself out. As soon as she broke surface she started to cry. Wail even... through her coughs and gasps for air Chandra sobbed and felt as if she were lucky to be alive.
"Selene..." she sobbed. "I..wa..want...t...to go home..."

Normally, Sydney would of been the first to save herself, to climb to safety as some of the other first years were doing. But something clutched at her, as she saw those two girls struggle. Sydney had heard stories about conjoined twins, but she'd never actually seen Siamese twins in real life. The two girls were struggling, and Sydney didn't notice anyone else jumping up to help them. Sloshing through the muck, and disregarding her misery at the moment, Syd approached the twins. "Here, take my hand, I'll help pull you up on your feet." and she extended her hand to the girl who was crying, the other one seemed to be struggling to get a hold of her sister.

Chris wasn't quite sure what had happened but where there was once a solid floor, now sprung a bog reminiscent of his homeland. It wasn't the smell that irritated him (Merlin knew his robes' stench was clear competition) but rather the sudden transformation of the hall into a marshland. "GAH!" The boy suddenly waded through mud and waterlogged earth. "What the heck...?" He began, but realised everyone else was interracting in the same manner. Was this how the castle operated? Or was it a prank? Clearly Hogwarts was a magical castle and what happened within its walls could only be guessed at (as nothing happened with regularity save classes and particularly lessons being learned). Chris tried to smile amidst the chaos, but he truly felt like running away to someplace safe, familiar.

“Sshhhh!” Snake hushed while trying to stifle her own laughter. “They’ll hear us!” After a moment she was able to control her own laughter and she peeked around the door again. The first years were fleeing for the steps, she noticed a pair of girls had fallen down and another girl was helping them up, a few stood around stupidly, and a few just watched from the steps.
She ducked back into safety behind the door after only a moment of watching when it seemed at least one of the students was looking in their direction. “Only problem is…” Snake said slowly after a moments thought, “…how are we going to get into the Great Hall without being swarmed and attacked by a hoard of angry first years.” She was almost content to stay here all night with Jax but she also wanted to attend the feast.

Emory stood quietly in her corner listening. It wasn't until she smelled some so disgusting, that made her stomach churn and her attention turn to where it started from. She couldn't help but to giggle. The swamp was a brilliant idea. Emory was short enough where some of the trees would not touch her. She looked around at the other first years. Some were very angry, but like her, some were enjoying it. Emory felt very comfortable. Of course, she would have to find these people who did it. It was brilliant. That's all she could say.
She stuck her shoe into the icky mess and giggled. It's so perfect...so brilliant...I love it! Emory thought silently. Her smile spread to a grin on her face.

Jax had never thought about actually how they were going to be getting back to the great hall. "Well, we could just run straight through. I mean, we're already wet from the damn lake, any how." Jax laughed, trying to stifle it so that no one would hear the rest of them. Jax hadn't thought they'd been seen, nor did she actually think that anyone had heard them...but then she thought of another plan.
"What about accio-ing our brooms to us, now and getting in through the owlery. Like we did that one night. We'll walk down the stairs like nothing happened, and the wet robes could be explained after we get into the great hall from the swamp itself?" Jax raised an eyebrow. "What about that idea?" she whispered to her girlfriend.
