January 16th - 5:07 AM
Another sleepless night, though Lily didn't expect any different. Not only did she have all of this Deva takeover to worry about, but she had pretty much given up hope of ever being Drew's friend and/or talking to him again, which was something she had any plans to do ever again, made his girlfriend probably think she was a total mental case (which it was quite possible she was), and nearly joined the Deva. All of the last three taking place in one time period that was less than one hour. Wow, she screwed up great this time.
This was why she had gotten no sleep. This is also why she felt she couldn't sleep by the Ravenclaws anymore, so instead she had pretended to sleep on the outside wall near the Gyrffindor table. Would she ever stop screwing up? She had came here because she thought she was ready to stop running away from her problems, but apparently she couldn't fix them either. She felt doomed to be screwed up and mostly friendless for the rest of her life.
She looked at her watch. 5:07 AM. Good enough time as ever to stop pretending she was getting any sleep. After all, she already must look like crap, so what's one more night? She sat up and leaned against the wall, running her fingers through her greasy hair. Disgusting.

Surprisingly, Felicity managed to get quite a bit of sleep. Because of the small lack she'd received the night before, though it wasn't terribly bad she had still managed to bounce a bit, the blonde had fallen asleep right early on in the night, she faintly remembered being nearly stepped on, but it hadn't done much good as she hadn't bothered to even stir.
Early mornings were her time of day, and it hurt just a bit that she couldn't go outside and just run around and have a bit of fun of the sort, especially as it really was something she enjoyed to do. But after laying still for a bit, she finally stretched and sat-up, only then realizing she'd been near a familiar face, and she wasn't entirely sure how long.
The girl was the same one she'd met the day before, or kind of met. They hadn't really been introduced well, and really, she wasn't entirely sure what to think of the girl. The things she'd said weren't nice at all, but Drew had tried to explain the girl a little bit to her, however it hadn't done much to really tell her who the girl was.
And, it was a brand new day.
"Jolly good morning!" she let her voice ring out cheerfully, as though the girl hadn't made a bad impression before.

Oh. My. Goodness. Lily had just plopped herself on the outer wall, not taking too much notice to who else was there. And she had ended up by Drew's girlfriend who must have thought that Lily deserved to be in a white padded room, wearing a straight jacket and nicely tranquilized. That was . . .splendid, splendid indeed.
As if to make matters worse, she was treating Lily like a human. Lily was half convinced it was a cruel joke, but she really did feel awful about yesterday and this was the word vomit that rose to the surface. "I'm really sorry. I was angry at Drew yesterday and I took out on you and you didn't deserve that."

Just looking at the girl, Felicity could feel her jaw sag slightly, unable to believe the response to her greeting. She hadn't even given a top o' the morning, or a hello, nothing, she just launched into an apology that really should've been going to Drew, not Felicity.
"I'm not going to say that I didn't, but I'm not going to tell you it's all right either," she blatantly stated. This girl had said some really mean things about Drew, to Drew, and right to Felicity, it just wasn't very kind of her to do. "And really, it isn't nice to say things like that."
The talk she'd had with Drew hadn't lasted very long, but really, while she would've tended to believe something he could've told her, it didn't mean she would've believed it, especially since it sounded kind of upsetting in a way. It wasn't always a good thing to go off of first impressions, and Felicity hoped this was one of those times.
"You don't need to apologize to me," she explained, feeling as though she should be apologizing to the other Ravenclaw. But really, with how Drew had spoken, she didn't think he'd take too kindly to the girl speaking to him quite so soon.

Felicity might have felt no apology necessary, but Lily felt as such. She had sort of made a personal attack on Felicity and there was really no excuse for it, was there? "I know it's not nice. I'm not normally like that. I just got vicious at Drew because . . . " Well there was no need for her to no. It didn't matter; she didn't want to screw this relationship up for Drew, right? Give him more reason to hate her. "Because well it doesn't matter."
She leaned her head back and wanted to bash it into the wall. What she felt like was an idiot. She was making enemies left and right and mostly due to sheer stupidity. Someone had put her in the wrong house she felt like. "All right well . . .this is . . . well . . .umm . . . can I start over? Hi, my name is Lily, good morning? Welcome to Deva attack day three? Ummm . . . You should know I'm especially prone to saying and doing stupid things. Like I just did. Pretty much."
She shook her head. "You don't have to talk to me if you don't want to and I'll understand if you don't." Lily said. Good morning Lily. This only continued to stress her out further. This kept going and she was going to alienate even Krissy from her. Why had she come back? She should have just stayed away and let people forget about her and pretend she was happy. But she had come back because she was sick of running and she wasn't going to run away from Felicity just because she had now twice made a fool of herself in front of Felicity and she had twice said stupid things.

Everything mattered, and Felicity wasn't having the grandest of times continually having to remind someone that it mattered. Last time it'd been Drew she'd tried to convince something mattered, to her it did, therefore, it mattered. But, even with this girl, while it probably didn't really matter to Felicity, it must have mattered to her, especially since she started the sentence then said to basically nevermind. By going about things in such a way, it just made it all harder for themselves.
The other blonde tripped over her words a bit, but Felicity didn't say anything. It was quite obvious she either wanted to, or needed to, talk to someone, and well...there weren't too many people who were probably wide-awake and ready to listen to another person chit chat so early in the morning, especially under certain circumstances.
"Starting over could be good," she answered, a small smile playing at her lips. It was a new day, a new time, a new conversation, new circumstances, sort of, why not a new beginning? "It's nice to meet you Lily, I'm Gryffindor's only Felicity Hjort, and don't believe anyone who says otherwise" she replied with a small giggle. If the girl was silly at times, it would just make things much fun for Felicity, and really, a little silliness was good for everyone, at least now and again. "And I can tell you, I'm prone to the same things, so if you are too, we're going to make quite a pair."
If she was once Drew's friend, she really couldn't be horrible, right? Even if Drew said a few things about not liking the girl anymore because of other things, it didn't mean she wasn't willing to try to be a little different, but maybe Felicity would just have to try to be careful, chances were she wouldn't be, but she could try.
"I don't really have any reason not to talk to you," Felicity stated. "You've never done anything to me, and I don't like to take what others say as face value, I figure I may as well figure things out for my own self, whatever comes of things comes, there's no stopping it from happening." Shrugging slightly, it was the brown-eyed girl's way of saying she didn't mind chatting it up with Lily, even if Drew didn't like her. But, Drew didn't like the locket around her neck either, but he didn't tell her she couldn't wear it. Yes, as soon as she had the chance, she planned on putting it away safely and never wearing it again to appease him, but he hadn't requested she do that.

"Well, if you want to be technical, my full name is Lillian, but nobody's called me that for ages. It's much to long for me. Lillian Viteri, Ravenclaw's one and only as well. And I think we will make quite a pair. A pair of pears maybe. Except I'm afraid I do not have a stem. Not saying that it couldn't be done, but not presently." Lily smiled. A happy smile. She felt like crap and she felt she looked like crap and she was probably slightly slap happy for having not slept so long. It was better than the alternative.
"I thank you for that," Lily said with a small smile. "I wish everyone was like that sometimes. And I suppose whatever happens happens," she lowered her voice a little to a whisper. "But if one of the devas turns flashing pink, purple, and blue, you have to swear I had nothing to do with it." She laughed a little. "It's not really possible," as she was supposed to have no wand. Supposed to being key. "But it would be so funny."

Another giggle escaped as she listened to Lily go on, though she tried to hush it so as not to disturb those still getting in a bit of rest, or to alarm the faceless figures. A pair of pears or two peas in a pod, it was interesting nonetheless. "Lillian's even prettier than Lily," she told the girl. Really, she had thought the name was quite pretty when Drew told her, the flowers were pretty too. "And pear blossoms are pretty, too. I haven't even saw one in real life before, but dad's shown me pictures. But, really, who needs a stem? A stem is only something that holds you back, keeps you glued to everything else. Without a stem, you can be free to be adventurous, rolling around on the ground at the tree's base. True, even with a stem you could be there, but it's guaranteed without one you'll be there. With a stem its not a guarantee."
Pear talk in the middle of a crisis situation, it was even sillier than being upset at Drew for what she had been, but at least it was interesting.
Nodding her head, she knew that what happened, happened. Either it would happen or it wouldn't. But, she had to wrinkle her nose at the colour pink, and slightly at purple. "I think I'd prefer blue, yellow, and brown. I've never cared much for purple, and I can't really stand pink too much. Mum and dad always used to buy me pink things, they said it looked nice with my hair, but I don't much like the colour." However, she did have to agree that it would be funny if one of them turned out to be in flashing colour, but there wasn't much chance of it. Not when they didn't have wands. And really, why would they turn to Lily and think she'd done it?
"But I wouldn't point in your direction, it's not nice to point in general, but really, why would I give someone up for such a thing?"

Lily blushed at the fact Felicity called her name pretty. She was a flower, that's what more than one guy had said to her. But she was done with all their sweet talking ways . . .or she had tried to be at any rate. "I'm not sure I've ever seen pear blossoms. But I've seen cherry ones, so if they're anything the same, they'd be beautiful I'm sure. Well then in here, we must have stems and be attached to a tree since we are so obviously smelly, sweaty, disgusting prisoners." Yes, Lily wanted a shower. "And for the record, I'm not a big pink fan either. I like blue and purple a lot, pink no . . .I just figured since I don't like it, they probably wouldn't either. So, why not then?"
"I dunno why you would," Lily said. "But just in case they come asking questions, just remember it's not me because why on earth would I even have my wand?" Which of course, Lily did, but she didn't go around advertising this fact. She didn't want it taken from her and she didn't want anything else to happen to her either. She was through being rash for the time being . . .she hoped. It was getting harder and harder to think things through as the days went by without sleep.
"I think I ran out of things to talk about already. Three nights, no sleep. At least I think three nights. It doesn't make my brain very happy. I mean, every once and a while, I'll think things through but not a real lot." Otherwise joining the Deva might not have seemed so appealing as it had so suddenly. Without a clear mind, easy thinking could quickly turn to the seemingly right thing.

"A flower is a flower, and they're all pretty in their own ways," she told the girl. Every single flower was pretty, some may be more appealing to someone than another flower, but really, all were pretty. No, Felicity hadn't seen a cherry blossom either, not in real life, again only in a picture, but it was just as pretty. "And no, I don't think we have stems. It's more of a matter that there are too many without them, and none of us have managed to land far from the bounds of the base. But, I do agree, none of us are doing extremely well in such conditions that we've been put into."
But with the colour pink being used, if neither of them liked it too much, they should use colours that would amaze them more. It would hold this particular blonde's attention much longer.
Shrugging her shoulders in response, she wasn't sure why Lily was asking why she would have her wand, Felicity for once actually carried it on her and look what happened. Take-over of the school, demand of her to hand it over. She really should just give up on the wand classes, though, that would take away a bit of time she spent with Drew, him tutoring her. "I don't see why any of us would have wands to be truthful, it would make things a bit more harmful if someone decided to keep their's, wouldn't it?"
At least, it would be harmful if someone were discovered with their wand on them, Felicity was pretty sure of that. And as in movies, it was likely not to be the person with the wand that would be in harms way.
"You haven't slept at all?" she inquired, staring a bit curiously at the other girl. Three nights with no sleep? Just one night and Felicity would've been out for someone, really, she could barely make it past midnight without getting a bit cranky, unless she'd slept in in the morning. "I've slept a little each night, so far. I don't think I would've made it past the first night without having a spell shot at me. I don't do very well without sleep, it's something that's required of me."

Yes, it probably would be harmful for someone if they had decided to keep their wands, but only if they got caught, which Lily didn't plan on happening until the opportune moment. She needed to keep it her concealed secret weapon until the right time, when it was absolutely necessary or could be used without any chance of discovery. Which, was not very likely the second option would happen. It was more likely to be the first. But she planned on having a plan by then. If she could think of one or more. So far none of her plans seemed likely.
"Not at all." Lily said. "I think this is the longest I've ever gone, because this is different then insomnia and I'm trying to stay awake. I'm so tired and sleep is probably essential to me too, but I have too many nightmares to risk waking up screaming because I'm almost positive that would not make the Deva happy with me." Lily had weighed the pros and cons that she knew and the cons she could draw from her head on the matter of the Deva seemed to outweigh the cons she knew off on the not sleeping side, though perhaps that had contributed to crazy angry babbling at Drew.

No, waking up screaming probably wouldn't be the best way to make friends with the faceless figures. On the other hand, the blonde wasn't entirely sure they would do something about it either. If it was just a nightmare, there wouldn't be a reason to shoot a spell, well...except maybe to make a person stop screaming, but that just seemed a little extreme. After all, how could they not expect them to have nightmares after the take-over? It was likely any of them that shut their eyes were having images played out before them, some that may have happened, and others that were imagined to be going to happen.
Drew had told Felicity he had nightmares now and again, but that had been a long time ago, and she hadn't asked if he still had them, but she was curious about Lily's nightmares now. The Gryffindor knew the cause of her boyfriend's, but why did this other Ravenclaw have them? And if she woke up screaming from them, they had to be pretty frightening, didn't they?
"I don't usually have nightmares," she stated. In fact, she hadn't had any horrible ones since just after David's accident, and when she has had a few sparse ones, they weren't anything significant, just little things. "I guess, I'm pretty lucky in that department. I can sleep well enough without having to worry if I'm going to make it through the night without waking up in a state that I wouldn't like."

Lily shrugged. "I just guess I'd rather not take my chances is all, you know? Not all of these Deva members seem to be the most stable of people and I'd rather not accidentally tick off the wrong one." Perhaps Lily was being a tad cautious and a tad paranoid, but hey, if it kept her from doing anything stupid (like she had already done - so apparently it wasn't) and it kept her and others safe, then why not do it? Of course, she wasn't quite sure what the side effects would be if she didn't sleep soon. Not good, she could bet. Although at least she was eating.
"Yeah I guess it's just different for every person I suppose. How far things are in their subconscious or some psychological thing like that. I just sort of know that they're brought on by stress, fear, sadness and stuff like that." Usually depression in Lily's case, but that didn't need to be mentioned right now. "I had them the past couple of days before I came back because I was worried about coming back, so I know they'd be less than pleasant now. The few times I've drifted off, I've luckily been able to catch myself. Most of the time if I know they'll be bad, I take dreamless sleep. Otherwise, sometimes Drew used to . . . never mind . . ." Lily sort of left herself trail off. She had to stop thinking about him like that, like he still might be her friend again some day. It was clear that bridge was burned and that hatchet laying firmly above ground, perhaps in his hands, or even in hers.

A nod of agreement was all Felicity gave. Not all of the faceless figures seemed to be as steady as their leader seemed to be. Really, that wasn't entirely true. While all of the figures scared her well, only one was truly frightening, merely because he did seem to be a bit off his rocker from what Felicity had caught. But, it was only the one that was that scary, the others were just scary, not ultimately so, just the one was.
People reacted different to different situations. As Lily stated, many times stuff was brought about because of stress, fear, etc. but peoples reactions to what was brought forth was what determined their emotions following. Felicity had noticed, over the few days, some people reacted as she had; crying, fear, allowing ridiculous things to be brought forth when there were much more important topics at hand, others reacted as though it was all a treat.
But Felicity soon had a stop put to her own thoughts. Turning a curious look to the girl, she waited for her to continue about Drew, but when she didn't, Felicity had to ask. The blonde despised unfinished thoughts, at least when they were spoken aloud. It merely made her curiosity pique.
"What did Drew used to do?" she asked without thinking of possible consequences of this particular topic.

"Umm well . . . " Lily felt like she was treading in water that was over her head here and she wasn't a strong treader in the first place. "If you really must know . . . Well . . ." Stalling, stalling, stalling. She didn't want to cause problems. "Well when I had bad dreams, sometimes I would go and get him and wake him up and he would stay up talking with me until I was calmed down enough to fall sleep. Before I used dreamless sleep. Also before I screwed everything up."
But really, the fact that Lily was starting to like Felicity as like a potential friend, as she liked the girl a lot, made this conversation very nerve wrecking. Lily didn't want to screw up because she didn't have a lot of friends. She wanted to come out of this one all right. Without going all crazy and stuff. This topic of Drew made her very nervous by itself. But combine that with Drew's girlfriend who may or may not hate her, judging by Lily's previous actions (though Lily felt more strongly toward not hate her at the moment anyways) it was too much for Lily to handle without being incredibly nervous. She fidgeted with the hem of her robes, trying to think about something anything else. Unfortunately for Lily, her mind was too one-track to do so.
