Jason laughed " Sophia do I look like some one who needs a fifth year as a pet, common really" Jason said with a grin looking up at her. Jason folded up the letter and put it in his bag, He leaned back in his chair "My summer was fine, except that this really annoying Slythern came and would not stop bugging me in Seattle" Jason said grinning to show that he was Joking eying Delilah. Jason put his hands behind his head and closed his eyes. "Exactly Delilah, you have to set a good Example, Me on the other hand I don't have to do anything" He said opening one eye, Something told him he was gonna get hit with something.

Delilah folded her arms over her chest, shaking her head. "I'm sure your Summer wouldn't have been that good if it weren't for that Slytherin..." Delilah said, in a rather cocky voice. Once she had arrived in Seattle, he practically drowned upon seeing her. If it wasn't for her, surely that wouldn't have happened, and in the end, his summer would have been dull. Delilah grinned over the memories, and she made sure that no one could see her grin.
"Don't have to do anything huh?" Delilah asked, looking from Jason to Sophia with a rather evil smirk, "I'd watch your back if I were you." She said, trying to look sinister, but her eyes said otherwise. The only thing she could do, was take points away from his house, but she needed a good reason in order to do that... Hey, maybe she'd find one, it was Jason they were talking about here.

As the students came in, Becca smiled and nodded her greetings back to them, an unusual sight for the young adults entering the room. The best part about teaching the NEWT level courses was the students wanted to be there and were usually quite reliable and responsible. Usually. There was always one or two she had to worry about.
"Mr. Williams, you may be excused from my class," Professor Davenport announced, looking over he glasses at the Ravenclaw. "Any abuse of creatures in my class, including younger students, will not be tolerated. I suggest you follow our Head Girl's lead in this area."
The class seemed fairly filled and the bells in the school tower could be heard from across the field, so Professor Davenport considered this to be the perfect time to start class. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are discussing Kelpies today. As usual, we start the lesson with what you already know. Anyone?"

"Finally" Lachlan said out loud to himself, happily making his way outside of the castle. It was turning out to be a beautiful day and Lach couldn't be feeling more relaxed. Ambling slowly across the grounds, Lach began to hum quietly so himself. He was only vaguely aware of the tune and had no real idea of the words but these two facts didn't appear to bother the boy. The reason behind his good mood today was the simple fact that he was on his way to a class, he actually enjoyed. He was out of the dark, stuffy dungeons and out on the sunny, green grounds of Hogwarts. And to top it off, his class was Care of Magical Creatures, one he was actually good at. Lachlan didn't care whether it was a practical or theory lesson, he was content with both.
Stepping inside the small classroom, Lachlan straight away noticed that the majority of the class was made up of seventh years. Infact only one other student was a sixth year like himself. Thankfully, though, it was someone Lach was familiar with. Matty was sitting around the middle of the class and Lachlan stepped forward, making straight for his friend.
"Hey" Lachlan breathed with a smile, dropping his bag beside him as he slipped into a seat next to the girl. "I'm making quite a habbit of this" Lachlan joked, commenting on the fact that he had sat next to Matty in almost every class. He just hoped she wasn't getting sick of him.

Delilah didn't think that their joking around would cause Jason to get into trouble, however, she was really thankful that she was getting on her Professor's good side, and not the other way around. This was her favorite class by far, the one she loved the most and hoped to have a future in, and if this was to be attained, then she better keep up the goodie goodie attitude. Although her remark was meant to spite Jason, it worked well for Professor Davenport as well. This was a serious class, and from now on, Delilah was all business... in the classroom any how.
The small girl, proving that she really did belong here, raised her hand quickly, before answering in a matter of fact voice, "The Kelpie, can be mistaken for a horse, usually black or white in color, but is obviously unique for it's dripping mane. In order to keep itself hidden, it can create illusions, so it's enemies become distracted and the kelpie can get away." Delilah started. Answering questions was not something she was good at, nor did she like to flaunt, but she gathered up what courage she had, and continued,
"The Kelpie is classified as a spirit, prone to attracting people, mostly small kids, but they can also transform into a woman, in order to attract men. Once their victims, once again mostly children, are attatched to them, which is usually done through, well, riding them like a horse, the children become stuck to the kelpie. The creature then proceeds to bring them to the bottom of where they reside, usually a lake or river, and then devours them." Delilah said, ending it with a small grin. Yes, she was usually a nice girl, but perhaps there was something a bit cynical about her too.

Jason laughed "yeah you know what Delilah you probably right" He said with a smile. Jason did enjoy his time with Delilah when she came out to Seattle, and now that they were back in school he was hoping to spend more time with her.
Jason chuckled "o big bad Delilah is on a roll look out" He said with another joking grin.
Jason opened his eyes and sat forward she cant be serious, shes gonna kick me out for joking with my friends, and abuse, I didn't abuse anything Jason thought to himself He looked back at Delilah with a what the heck was that look on his face. Jason turned back to the front of the room did she really want him to leave, or was it simply a threat, this was unclear to Jason at the moment so to be on the safe side he stayed and listened to the class.

Sophia sat silently in shock as Davenport reprimanded Jason. Perhaps the professor had not understood they were joking? She decided to keep her mouth shut and all conversations literal until she knew she was safe from trouble. The girl was terrified of doing wrong in anyone's eyes.
She focused on Delilah's answer, however, and was very impressed. The girl was smart, and it was good to know, not that she ever doubted it. Delilah's mind was always going with schemes and tricks and all sorts of fun.
"Oh, and Professor, doesn't the Kelpie have skin that is similar to a seal's?" She didn't wait for conformation, semi-confident in her answer. "Unlike the seal's skin, however, it is as cold as death itself. A Kelpie is also known to keep only its eye above the surface of the water to keep a look out, and when it eats a mortal, it refuses to eat the heart and the liver. I think." She felt a little uncertain, but Delilah's confidence gave her confidence.

' This should be an interesting class, ' Connor nodded his head as his eyes followed Celina's entrance into the room and stopped where she had sat next to him. He offered up a warm smile in response as he said, " Isn't it always? If you're not being attacked by something, it's just not worth it. " He chuckled at his little joke and then drew his attention back to the front of the room where Professor Davenport was starting things up.
He began to make a small list of things he personally knew about the kelpies. The list was somewhat short, mostly because the information he knew about kelpies wasn't very solid. He knew that they were said to be a type of water devil in Scotland, the most famous one being the Loch Ness monster. It wasn't anything he knew for sure, because he had never really studied up on the topic before. Connor quirked his head to the side, listening to what the other students had to add of what they knew.
They were said to be very dangerous, and not at all able for domestication. The seventh year looked to the Professor for some confirmation about the things that Sophia and Delilah had said.

{sorry... real life and all. It happens...}
There was no joking around when it came to creatures, not in the Professor's mind anyway. Anyone who even joked about hurting another living and breathing being was not going to have a very easy time in her class. If Mr. Williams thought she was anything but serious, he was sadly mistaken.
But as the boy settled down, she let it go for the time being, planning to keep a careful eye on him none the less. Any wrong move in her class or in her tower, and he would pay the price.
"Five points to Slytherin and another five to Gryffindor," she announced, liking both girls' answers. "And yes, while it will often have the smooth skin of a seal, it will more likely takes the form of a horse, pretending to be lost, and luring unsuspecting riders onto its back as Miss Morine stated. But it is true. It can take any form it choses-- whichever it feels is best to lure in its prey. It will then drag its victim under water and devour it, usually leaving the heart and liver. We're still researching as to why not these particular parts." The professor stated this last bit as if calling attention to the weather, showing no remorse that her favorite creature could be so ruthless.
"On the other hand, there are records of wizards subduing and gaining control of the creature," she continued. "The wizard who is able to do that can actually force the Kelpie to do his bidding. But the Water Horse is clever. It will do everything it can to regain it's freedom."
Becca still wasn't convinced all Kelpies were so bad, thinking that it was a few rogue creatures who had given the whole species a bad name. There were a few recorded instances of humans actually befriending the creatures. She was determined that they were probably very misunderstood.
