Kay felt her breath leave her when Charon hit her in the stomach, and she reflexively doubled over. She hadn't expected the punch to her face though, and it seemed like fire had radiated up from her cheekbone and into her eye socket. The last blow had knocked her off her feet, and it would have made her give up this fight, but no, he had to taunt her again.
Trying to catch her breath again, she scuttled backward a little bit before climbing to her feet. Kay still had a little bit of the fight left in her, and she wasn't going to let Charon get away without a little bit of pain.
Standing up, she ran quickly forward, using her momentum to drive her knee into his crotch. It was a low blow, both literally and figuratively, but it was effective, and he deserved it. "How did you like that, you little scum-bag?" she whispered into his ear.

Now that one had hurt. Stepping back and doubling over, Charon snarled, "You little *****!" Between the pain and rage he was feeling, Charon failed to notice that his wand had slipped out of his pocket and was now lying on the ground. With a deep breath, the older boy repressed the pain as he stood slowly. His hand shot out and closed around Kay's throat. He pulled her in, snarling, his face showing nothing but pure hatred. "I liked that about as much as I think you'll like this," he growled, just before bashing her forehead with his head. He let go of her throat and stepped back again. The kick had hurt him worse than he wanted to admit, but he was recovering quickly.

Kay staggered back after the head butt, her throat sore and her nose bleeding. That had really hurt, and she could really see spots in front of her eyes. However, this didn't deter her from fighting back in the least bit. Her ire was rising, and rising quickly. He needed to pay, for the rudeness, the insults, and the physical beating he gave her.
Catching her breath, she noticed that he had dropped his wand. Scuttling forward quickly, she reached down, grabbed it, and took a few steps back so she and it were out of his reach. "Who has the wand now, you little *******! Not so cocky are you now, huh? What should I do to you next, scum bag?" Kay taunted.

Charon's hand flew to his pocket, but a quick pat to the outside proved that it was his wand that Kay had. "Damn..." he swore under his breath. This was not good. He took a step back, though distance wouldn't really help much. When he moved his leg, he felt something poke it. Whatever it was, it could be useful...
Without moving his head at all, Charon glanced down to see what he'd run into. It was the handle of the poker, which had somehow remained miraculously undisturbed throughout the fight. The end had been sitting in the fire the entire time, and had to be extremely hot by now. This was definitely useful. With reflexes and muscles conditioned to top speed by years of street life, Charon suddenly reached down, grabbed the poker, and moved forwards in one fluid movement. His arms and legs a blur, he was in front of Kay in under three seconds. Within another, he had grabbed the back of her robes with his left hand and was holding her in close to him. His wand was poking him between the ribs, and he was susceptible to anything she might feel inclined to use now, except for one simple fact.
"Do you know where my right hand is right now, mudblood?" he asked, his voice a hiss as deadly as any snake's. "My right hand is currently holding a red-hot poker centimeters from the back of your neck. You cast any spell, or do anything but slowly hand me my wand, and you will find out how much a second degree burn hurts." He was perfectly serious, too. Any provocation, and he would not hesitate to cause the mudblood unimaginable amounts of pain.

Kay looked into his face, and she knew he was serious about his threat. She was even willing to bet that if he could get away with it, he would kill her right then and there. Staring into his eyes for what seemed like an eternity, she silently willed Charon to just step back, to burn her. It would hurt, yes, but the school nurse could probably fix that up. She just stood there for awhile longer, feeling the poker give off heat. It was really close to the back of her neck, and Kay began to get scared. She didn't want to be burned, it would hurt like ****, but she didn't want to back down either.
Sighing, she realized that she really had no other choice but to give him back his wand. Raising her hand slowly, she dangled the wand in front of Charon's face.

Without moving his right hand, Charon took the wand. He then turned that on her as he pulled his right hand away. "All right. Now, this is what's going to happen. I'm going to stun you. You'll be knocked out for a while. When you come to, the house-elfs will give you your wand back. You are not to go to the hospital wing. You are not to tell any teachers what happened. If you do, I will find out. And I am not someone to be taken lightly. You would cause me temporary inconvenience; I would make sure your life is hell. Undertand, mudblood?" Charon didn't bother to wait for an answer. He simply muttered "Stupefy" and watched Kay's body collapse. "Perhaps another time we'll meet where I can finish you as you deserve," he murmured contemptuously.
Turning to the house elfs, who had wisely scurried off to a corner, he said, "When she wakes, give her back her wand. Don't tend to her, and don't tell anyone what you saw here tonight. That is an order." He didn't know if he had the authority to order around the house-elfs, but there was a good chance they'd obey him either way. He then turned and walked slowly out of the kitchen. When he made it to his room, he climbed into bed, making plans for if she defied his orders.

When Kay, awoke, a house-elf handed her a wand just like he said. She was stiff, and her cheek, nose, and stomach hurt. With the fighting spirit gone from her blood, Kay could not believe how stupid she was, to get into a fight with a fellow Ravenclaw, no less. She just curled up into a little ball. Kay did not want to get into trouble, and it seemed like she would if she told the teachers. After all, she had pulled her wand first. And also, he had threatened her that it would be worse if she told anyone it seemed, and she now knew that he did not make idle threats.
After she finally uncurled herself, Kay stiffly stood up, and left the kitchen. She really didn't care if anyone caught her on the way back to her dormitory, so she didn't hurry or she didn't even try to sneak back up. She just walked, like she was on auto-pilot back to Ravenclaw, through the common room, and up to her dorm. Once reaching there, she climbed into bed, shutting her curtains, and only then did Kay allow herself to cry.
