Lainee wasn't too sure about this lesson. She trusted her students and this potion was good one. One of her favorites when she was growing up, but she does remember a few princesses in her days abusing this potion and she didn't want the same to happen to her students. Temptation was an evil thing and she surely didn't want her precious fourth years being tempted.

Jack walked into the Potion's classroom to see that once again he was the first person there. He really needed to get a watch and stop this habit. It wasn't a bad habit by no means but still it was a bit boring being the first person to class all the time. The one good thing about it though was that he didn't have to decide who to sit by or worry about being late. He walked up the rows of desk and took a seat about three rows back. He got out his things and waited for the next student to come so that he would be the only one there.

Verina smiled as she entered the classroom, "Hello Professor," she said in a cheerful mood as she passed her desk. She was having a good day so far and she wanted to keep it that way. Potions had never been her best subject but she wasn't bad at it either. She smiled at Jack when she saw him and made her way over to him, "Aww you looked so lonely when i walked in," she said her eyes twinkling slightly as she sat down in the seat next to him and faced him.

Pat was next to enter the Potions dungeon room. He remembered last lesson before break had occured, that one Auror had overseen the class; the same one who had come when Shaw had been forced from his Herbology position. Pat hoped that he'd never need to lie eyes on him again. Although the guy was probably a good guy, he didn't really sit well with the Hufflepuff.
Still, that wasn't sufficent reason for Pat to make today a bad day. Upon entering, he saw Jack and Verina already there. He walked over to the two of them, taking the seat on Jack's other side. "Hey guys," he said to them, a small smile on his face. "How was break?" he asked, directing the question toward either one of them; he was certain an answer from the other would follow soon after, so it made no difference who decided to answer first.

Ash walked in the Potions Classroom. It was quite cold in the dungeons and it never gave her quite the cheery feeling that most of the other classrooms provided- even Solis's classroom gave that vibe... sometimes. She looked nervous at first although forced the smile upon her face as she saw Professor Jamboreema. The woman intimidated her for some reason- it was the rat reason.
If she ever dare take Pocko away, Ash would give him up without a fight- well, at least she would try. The fourth year sat down in the corner of the room, giving Pat, Verina and Jack a small smile before passing. She sunk down in her seat after taking her supplies out and hoped to attract very little attention- but that surely wouldn't be a problem.

She placed her books on her desk she really needed to get a bag one of these days. "Hi Pat," Verina said with a smile as he joined them sitting on Jack's other side. At Pat's question as to how their break had been she couldn't help looking at Jack and smiling slightly before replying to Pat, "Break had its fun moments and was interesting," she replied with a grin. When she caught Ash's smile to them she returned it with a wave hello before turning her attention back to the boys, "How about you Pat? How was your break?"

Lainee smiled at the students and said hello to all who spoke to her. Every so often she would look at her roster when she saw a new face or a face she couldn't put a name too. Lainee glanced at the huge clock and decided to wait a few more minutes for class to begin.

Pat raised his eyebrow slightly, at Verina's response, his face looking a tad inquistive. She didn't seem to want to tell Pat any details about her holidays, or how she had been over them; Pat knew she hadn't stayed at the school over break, he would have seen her. He had also caught that smile at Jack; she definitely wasn't telling him the full story, he felt sure of it now.
Pat, like Verina, had also caught Ash's smile, and smiled back at her, also waving a little in greeting. However, he turned his attention back to Verina quickly enough. "My break was alright," he said, in answer to her question. "A little boring, although some Slythies did try to abduct my cat." A smirk broke out on his face now. "'Interesting", "fun"... Kinda vauge, right? Wanna share some details?" There was no way Pat was going to let Verina escape that easily... there was definitely more story to tell, and Pat wanted to hear it before class started.

Jack looked up as he heard the familiar voice and said, with a laugh, “I was.” As Pat took the other seat next to him he said hello before he tried to think of what to say to his next question, but he didn’t have to say anything just yet because Verina beat him to it. He waved at Ash and waited to hear about how Pat’s vacation had gone.
Jack had caught the smile that Verina had sent him before she had replied and wondered if Pat had caught it too, but Pat’s answer gave him that information. Pat did know that there was more to the story and now pressing Verina for more information Jack decided just not to say anything and see how she was going to handle this question. He wondered how much information she was going to give him. This ought to be interesting he thought to himself, glad that he didn’t have to try and explain anything.

Great. You really put your foot into it that time, she thought as she looked over at Pat and noticed Jack's somewhat relieved expression at not having to answer his question, "Nothing really i just visited my family for the holidays," she said with a smile thinking of a quick reply since after all that was the truth... for the most part, "Aww and some Slytherins tried to abduct your kittie. Is it allright?" she asked hoping to change Pat's interest on her at the moment she'd even prefer if he focused it on Jack.

"Ah, okay. That sounds like it was pretty cool," Pat said. Well, he thought, I guess it wouldn't be any fun if she just told me what's goin' on... Although her aim was probably different, Verina's response actually made Pat's smirk more pronounced; this cat-and-mouse game was getting amusing. "Of course he is," Pat's response came. "D'you really think I'd let anyone hurt Squall right under my nose? I'm a little hurt by your lack of faith in me."
Pat's gaze now focused on the Raven third of their little group. He'd been awfully quiet so far... it was time to change that. "So, Jack, what about you? Where'd you spend your break?" As was with Verina, he knew that Jack hadn't stayed at school for winter vacation either. The silver-hair had his suspicions, but a little more questioning was needed... perhaps Jack would be caught off-guard by Pat's change of target?

Jack was a little caught off guard when Pat decided to quiz him on what he had done over the break, but like Verina he wasn't going to give anything away that easy. "My break was good. I spent some of it at a friends house and a couple of different places." he said in an off handed way, thinking that he wasn't through answering Pat's questions just yet. He got the feeling that Pat suspected something and that he wouldn't be let off that easy. Maybe he sould have just went with that he had spent the holidays with his parents, but it was too late now.

Pat wanted to laugh a little at this point, but held it in. "In an off-handed way"... can we say "blood in the water"? If they weren't going to give anything away easily, Pat was going to have to play harder. He knew something had happened, something that he wasn't being told... if he hadn't known it at the start, he thought he knew it now. But he wanted to hear it from them first.
The smirk from before still remained; at least Jack hadn't asked a comeback question. "At a friend's, you say?" Pat echoed. "Who's? Did ya travel with 'em, too?" Pat remembered last summer fondly; if had happened then, with himself, it could definitely happen here...

Verina felt complete and total relief Pat switched his focus from her to Jack. She couldn't help being slightly satisfied at this turn of events. It was nice seeing Jack being badgered (( )) for a change instead of her. She really wanted to see how he'd deal with this since it seemed Pat wasn't going to give up any time soon on what they had been doing during the Holidays. At first it seemed that Jack had gotten out of Pat's interogation and that he wouldn't find out about anything that had happened during break. But just as she was feeling better about the whole thing Pat's next questioning completely stumped her and she couldn't help wondering what in the world Jack was going to say to that.

Jack wasn’t so sure that he liked the smirk that seemed to have permeably stuck itself to Pat’s face. It gave him the impression that he had already guessed who he had spent the holidays with and was a bit unnerving. “Ya I stayed at a friends for part of the holiday, but you wouldn’t know them.” he said completely unphased. Well he was phased but he wasn’t going to act like it. He did have a pang of guilt about lying to Pat, but he couldn’t rightly tell him the truth. Now could he? “Yep. Traveled with them for most of the holiday.” he continued his face still free of guilt or anything for that matter, “Until I came back here.”
