Nic stared after Charl...ette. He would never get used to calling her that and she wasn't Charlie anymore. She was... Charlotte, though he hated to see her like this. He liked the old Charlie better, but then she dropped two bombs on him. She was Hiro's girlfriend and Nic didn't know that. Hiro was his boy and he would neva touch his boy's girl. and she implied there could be more as long as Hiro wasn't around. Nic wasn't sure if she was jokin after all he didn't know this Charlie err Charlotte, but he wasn't sure if she wasn't not serious either. Now if this was his girl he would want his boy to tell him his girl is a certified ho, but since he didn't know if Charlotte was jokin and how Hiro would take the new he couldn't say that...could he? Now the dilemma. Tell his boy that his girl might be messin around or not? Especially with no proof. But what if he got the proof, by using himself as bait.
Nic kept staring off after Charlie. He didn't mean to stare he was just thinking about his mutiple possiblities not to mention the fact that she KISSED HIM! He was more than stunned he was... so many emotions.

Drew was about to answer Seanna when he saw the weirdest sight... Charlie kissing Nic. Not that Nic didn't get a fair amount of action, that didn't surprise him, but to see Charlie kissing anyone, even on the cheek, and especially Nic, was a bit of a shock.
And right there in front of Hiro. Drew wasn't sure Hiro had heard it, but felt like the guy really needed to know his girl was hitting on other dudes like that... and right in front of him. It sucked big time. Before Drew had even figured out what to say, much less say it, Charlie came over flouncing her skirt? Things had gotten bad.
"You look like a girl," Drew told her, the disgust dripping in his voice. It wasn't meant as a compliment.

Nic looked at Drew and tried to catch his eyes trying to convey a few things. Like 'Dude, I didn't know she was Hiro's girl' and 'Dude, she kissed me!' and 'Dude, what the heck happened to Charlie' and 'Dude, I have to tell Hiro, but how' and 'Dude, what do I do?' Nic was lost completely lost and as much as he wanted to go to Drew he couldn't with all the things running through his head. Instead he walked to the back and sat down still staring after Charlie, but this time shaking his head.

Charlotte looked at Drew in confusion, but figured not everyone would be fans of the new look. "I'm sure that was established sixteen years ago," she replied, unable to hold back the biting tone in it. Was he always this curt and rude with Charlie? Ah, better not to answer that, Charlotte concluded. Anybody would want to be rude to that girl.
"Come on now, Drew. Don't be mean to me," she said with a nudge to him. "Besides, you've yet to tell me how fun your summer was."

"Oh, yeah... LOADS of fun," Drew answered with even more sarcasm. He had spent most of it seeing healers who specialized in trama cases and mental disorders and what hadn't been spent at the hospital had been in his room studying for his OWL retakes. His girlfriend broke up with him and the one bright spot of the summer was marred by wrecking his dad's new car and another meet-up with the Deva. Yep... laughs for all.
"You look like you've been ... busy," he said, leaning back in his chair. He really didn't care for this girly-Charlie at all. "Tammy must be thrilled."

"We have gotten closer, thank you," Charlotte said as she uninvitingly sat with them. "She understands that not all change is bad. If only some people would see that..." She sighed. This boy would not make things easier for her. Already she was feeling like she had to stoop down the level of sixteen year old. She looked at her hair for some split ends, already hoping this class would end.

Okay, now Drew was certain there was something up when she started defending Tammy. This was about as far from real-Charlie behavior as you could get. Charlie was under some sort of curse and there was only one person who would possibly stoop to such a thing. Somehow Tammy had hexed Charlie into a real girl.
"So, just how chummy are you and Tams now?" Drew asked, raising an eyebrow. He ws going to get to the bottom of this, not only for his friend Charlie, but for Hiro too.

"Well, if you need to know..." She looked around, trying to remember a bit of the few moments she actually talked to Tammy. "We grew to mutually understand each other. She knew I wanted to reform myself, and that I wanted to get close to the baby she's having soon. It just all went to play from there." She bit her lip. "You know, this whole 'girly' thing that you don't seem to find endearing isn't bad, not at all. You just have to open your eyes to it..." Again, she looked away to roll her eyes. She normally hated to explain herself.

Hiro hadn't noticed the kiss, things would have gone very sour if he had. It also seemed like Drew and Charlie were fighting again, Hiro had gathered this from Drew's tone. It was probably due to the changes Charlie was going through. Just listening to the conversation Hiro gathered more things that had changed, it was almost like Charlie had changed completely. Dying her hair, ignoring important facts and above all giving up quidditch.

The tiny screech owl was hardly burdened with the light load it carried, but this load was light only in weight. Flying through the opened high window, one would assume the bird had merely lost it's course five floors down what with the owlry being where it was above. But no, no this little bird had a big mission, and it was on it's objective course. The question would remain only to if it would be noticed.
As the tiny brown mail carrier perched itself on the highest possible point it could find--mostly to be stubborn but also to seek out it's target of delivery, it found itself staring down from the top of a rather tall shelf. Humans...sitting...not grabbing for him, in fact no one for now seemed to notice him. After finding his delivery target, he surprisingly remained put, being such a small bird meant only for short flights its wings were most tired. The message could wait, in his mind.

A small grunt popped its way past Raynor's lips at the acknowledgment from Drew. Leave it that boy to pick up on something she was trying to keep hidden. It was becoming increasing harder to hide anything from the Ravenclaw; too many times caught between a rock and a hard place with him, she supposed. Rather he had been caught in the place, which more often than not had been her office.
Then, it was a very good thing that, unlike her writer, Tamis had not had any form of drink present when Charlie walked through the door, least she would have been wearing it. A skirt was one thing, but wrapping her arm around Torque was a complete other. And had that been a kiss, good Merlin. Clearing her throat, the Professor recovered enough to head off the brewing argument from Drew and Charlie before it got too severe. She had taken enough points from Ravenclaw and Slytherin for the day.
"Miss Jones, that is enough. Everyone, seats if you will." Of course, in this class, "seat" was a very relative term. Usually it meant any scrap of flooring that they saw fit. In actually desk lessons such as these it usually meant that as long as your bottom was in contact with the desk or chair in some fashion, Raynor was happy. After all, she herself was perched on one of the desks.
Once everyone was assorted in some fashion that suited their fancies, she continued. "Today marks your first day as N.E.W.Ts students. Everyone in here scored at least an E or better on your O.W.Ls, however, I under no circumstances congratulate those that only received an Excellent mark. For while I accept it, I will not lie when I tell you that you will have to study long and hard if you expect to keep up with the curriculum and pass this class, let alone your N.E.W.Ts. I no longer have to abide by strict Department of Education Guidelines and I take advantage of that by expressing as much freedom with what I teach you as I possibly can."
There was a moment where she paused, giving them time to let all of this soak in and give herself time to prepare for what she was leading up to as well. She resisted the urge to touch the box beside her again. This lesson did nothing for her conscience.
"My job is not about giving you a general education in the subject anymore. You are in this class because your future careers might involve working directly against the Dark Arts or involve material that you will need to know how to fight it. Therefore I teach it as if I am expecting every last one of you to come head to head with a Dark Wizard in a one-on-one fight. Fun and games are over."
Thoughts of Shaw had to be shoved from her mind. If one had faced him, why not the rest? It was a bitter train of thought, but an accurate one. "And therefore, it begins covering three of the Darkest curses out there. And with that I ask you, what are the Unforgivable Curses?"

"Avada Kedavera, the killing curse. Imperio, the Controling curse," And, of course, his personal favorite... "And Crucio. The torture curse. All three are called Unforgivables because to perform them on another person is considered unforgivable... a direct ticket to Azkaban."
Of course, they have to catch your first... he thought bitterly. Shaw ws still out there and he knew it.

Brandon was almost sleeping in the back of the room. His head was down on his desk and he was drifting off as he listened to the bickering that was going back and forth between students that he didn't know and frankly didn't care that they were fighting. The only thing that bothered him was the tone the girl was using. It was exceptionally annoying.
A few important words drifted into the boy's ear. Something about the Unforgivable Curses, but Brandon already knew about those. He had, after all, gone to Durmstrang for quite a few years. His mind for the Dark Arts was part of the reason he'd gotten kicked out of there, so this class really seemed pointless to him. Still, he figured there might be something he had missed in his research, but it was highly unlikely. Perhaps sleep was the best idea.

No, she hadn't gotten to the mark that cut off the N.E.W.T.S. students from those that wouldn't step foot in the DADA classroom for another lesson, but she nonetheless slumped into the classroom. She could have done better on her tests, but she hadn't and it wouldn't stop her from learning from Raynor.
Not particularly keen about attending this lesson for more reasons than one, Alhana slid int the classroom and took a seat apart from the Ravenclaws and the Slytherins at the head of the oval of desks, which was a complete turn around from the norm. There was no room for her there anymore. She jammed her hands into the front of her robes, not feeling her usual optimistic and mischievous self.
This was one lesson more than one of them had already experienced first-hand. It was going to be an awful lesson, the Gryffindor thought idly as she glanced at Raynor. When the woman asked the first question that afternoon, she decided she'd keep quiet unless called upon.
I prefer the term "creative genius." But "evil mastermind" works too.
I re-acquired my superhuman powers, but my therapist might now need the therapy.
Seanna sat up a bit more, so the rumors were true, they were going to learn about the unforgivable curses. It wasn't a nice thought to think, but Seanna knew she had to pay attention if she wanted or needed to use them and in these dark times and knowing Shaw was out there out there somewhere, probably closer than anybody thought, she needed to know how to take care of herself.
