Annemarie shrugged and sighed. "How many witches, or wizards for that matter, do you find religious at all?" Annemarie thought about Xander, but that was different. What he had believe when they were younger accounted for magic in the world, where as Roman Catholicism did not. "Or rather, monotheistic..." Annemarie hadn't found many, and those she did find believed all sorts of things that she found she could not put her faith into. "I mean, I don't discourage it at all. I love to help people if that is what they want to find within their lives," Annemarie said quickly, a tad embarrassed at how things were coming out. Was she making sense? She bit her bottom lip and refilled her glass of tea.
"Would you like some more tea, David?" she asked him to get everything to a different topic. She really didn't know how to mix her lives together well...she sighed. "Sorry, I guess I don't know how to even explain myself very well," she confessed, slightly turning a shade of pink.

David smiled slightly as she changed the subject, but decided not to press the issue. "Yes, please." he replied, nodding to his glass that still sat on the desk. "What kind is it?" he asked regarding the tea. "It's marvelous."
It was strange, but he really enjoyed being around her. She was brilliant, and not just physically - although she was that too, he noted. Most of all, she was so outside the norm from the other women he had known, and he found it exhilarating. He felt almost as if they were running out of things to talk about, and he racked his brain for a new topic, desperate to stay in her company a little longer.
"What part of Ireland were you in?" he asked, trying to sound casual. She had said she came to Hogwarts from Ireland, hadn't she? He certainly hoped so, or he'd sound like an utter fool. "I studied runes found on the Dingle Peninsula for several months when I was an apprentice." He added. "It's beautiful country."

It was probably highly evident that she was uncomfortable in her own skin, but Annemarie glad when David allowed the awkwardness to pass and just focus on the tea. "It's called vanilla chi tea," Annemarie nodded. "Imported from Asia," she shrugged and smiled. "Isn't it though? I do enjoy this tea, immensely."
After a few moments of silence David deepened the conversation asking her about where in Ireland she had been in. "I resided in Dublin, for that was where St. Catherine's were located." Annemarie nodded her head and listened to David speak about her old home. "Yes, it's incredibly beautiful. I'm in love with the old castles that reside there, myself."

"Asia, did you say?" David asked, picking up the glass again. "I may have to look into getting myself some, it's fantastic." He said, taking another sip. He looked up when she mentioned castles. "Oh yes, they're fascinating, aren't they?" he said with enthusiasm. "I've never been to Dublin, though. Maybe someday I'll get a chance." He said a little wistfully. He'd always wanted to return to Ireland, but he had never gotten around to it. If he did, he would certainly visit this church she spoke of, even if it was only because Annemarie had been there.

Annemarie nodded. "I enjoy it." Taking another sip from her tea, she flipped her hair off of her shoulder with her free hand so that it hung on her back. Sighing as she set her glass down, Annemarie smiled as she remembered Dublin and the school, church, and her sisters. How she longed to go back and visit. She often wondered why she hadn't during the summer...had she really been that fearful to go back and tell them that nothing had been accomplished with her purpose yet? Whatever that purpose may have been.
"I like them. I must return sometime soon..." Annemarie trailed off, her eyes focusing so much where she seemed to be in a trance, her mind fluttered in deep thought. "I do miss the sisters, and the students that I taught there." She nodded, snapping herself back into reality.
"So, what were you doing before here, David?" Annemarie asked. "Had you ever taught or anything before?"
