Ryan life had changed. Dramatically. He was no longer an immature little trouble maker, he was a mature, big, trouble making teenager. The boy had never really seen anything in girls, sure, he used to go out with the 'hott' ones, but he never really felt anything. No girl ever gave him butterflies, or goosebumps when they touched, but this year things were different. Ryan was in love, something that he had never gone through before. Although the boy would never admit who it was with to anyone, he was actually considering telling the person of choice. She was a fourth year, but Ryan had no idea when her birthday was. She was beautiful, but Ryan basically only knew her name. He felt an odd urge to kiss her, whenever she was around him, an urge that he had constantly fought, not knowing the consequences that he would go through if he did. Ryan's life had basically been thrown out of whack.
Ryan sat up. He had been lying on his bed for the last hour or so, the sun had risen, and all the boy was doing was thinking. Many people may not consider this to be a particularly big thing, but with Ryan, a boy that never thought through anything, it was huge. Standing up, Ryan brushed down his clothing. It was covered in cat fur, after having a cat sleep on him. The boy had no idea whose cat it was, but he couldn't really care less. He wore beige corduroy pants, a blue tee shirt with darker blue circles all over it, white and blue skate shoes, with a beige crocheted beanie, pushing down all of his hair. He looked quite smart, although he didn't feel it. Usually, Ryan would be out making mischief with his best buddy Seth, but he wasn't in the mood for trouble making. As Ryan left the common room, he decided that he would go wherever his feet took him. He ended up at the astronomy class room, but found that incredibly boring. Instead, Ryan chose to wander down to the library and see if a certain someone was there.
Ryan pushed open the door, to see hundreds, even thousands of books, but no girl. No dreamy, beautiful girl, waiting for him as he had so greatly hoped. There was just the faint musk of paper, and the occasion page turning sound. Other than that, nothing. He wandered up to one of the shelves, trying to find a book that he would be even remotely interested in. He found one of quidditch, explaining the rules and importance of each ball and player. Ryan had never taken the time to learn these, but now that he had absolutely nothing to do, maybe he should take the opportunity. If someone was to walk in, the first thing they would see, would be Ryan, nose buried in a book. One of the weirdest sights to ever grace the green earth. Change was in the air.

Matty was insane. She must've been. Usually the Hufflepuff girl was very neat and proper in classes. She usually made the biggest effort she could to get good grades. She didn't really talk or anything. But not lately, no. The girl had spoken allot before classes, her uniform had been allot more comfortable. She held back a little more in class. And why? She had absolutely no clue. The girl honestly hoped it wasn't because she was distracted by someone. Though if that was the case, Leto was her highest guess on the list. At least thats what she was preying for. The girl didn't know the exact reason for this sudden change, nor did she knew the opposite effect was taking place on one of her new acquaintances. But thus, Matty was pretty content on setting things right again. So, like she did on some mornings she had free, the girl made her way o the Library to catch up on study. After that day with Guy the girl hadn't had much homework to finish, but there was still a couple of essays that needed completing. So thus, Matty got dressed into some brown short-shorts, a black singlet, and a gray cardigan. A black bandanna was also placed above her fore-head, keeping her hair back.
The Hufflepuff had slung a brown canvas backpack over her right shoulder, as she emerged into the Library. Her bright green eyes scanned over the few faces of the study tables, as she sighed, and began to walk down to wards the far end of the Library, where she hoped it would be deserted. As the teenager automatically glanced down every row of books, a very familiar face and figure caught her eye. She grinned a little, walking to the row opposite of where the Gryffindor was standing. Matty approached where she could see the boy through a small gap in the shelfs of books. The girl removed a book on Muggle Traveling, convenient, but also making a better view of the boy. "Why hello there, Mister Callahan." she whispered, looking down at the book she had just opened. This was proving to be kind interesting.

"The seeker is basically the most important player on the team. They have to chase around the snitch, a small gold that is very hard to spot, and catch it. There is only one seeker on each team. Whoever catches the snitch first, automatically ends the game, and earns one hundred and seventy points for their team. Whoever has the most points, including the one seventy, wins the match." Ryan read out loud, stopping sometimes to pronunce the words in his head before saying them aloud, and making a fool of himself. Taking a look around, Ryan realised that the library was quite quiet and peaceful, and made a note to come here again.
The young boy, positioned in one of the corner tables, heard the door open and close, and immediately shut the book he was reading. Ryan didn't know why, but he was afraid of getting discovered while he was reading. Taking the approach he once used when mucking about with Tianne here, he sat on the book, and hoped that the person wouldn't come anywhere near him. As he buried his head in his hands, Ryan jumped, as a voice behind him spoke. Why hello there, Mister Callahan. Said the warm, girly voice. Immediately Ryan's insides squirm, as he turned to face the girl that had interrupted his silence. "Miss Wentworth, what may you be doing here?" He pleasantly asked, glad that she showed up.

The Hufflepuff girl raised her eyebrows at the boy, smirking at his funny actions. "What am I doing here? I was gonna ask you the same question, Ryan." she teased, closing her book and walking around to a chair beside Ryan, which was against the wall. Her green eyes glanced around briefly, finding no one around, before the girl sat down. The girl chucked down her bag and book before her, on the table. Matty pulled up her legs so they were crossed, and manged to turn so she was facing Ryan, with her back against the wall. "So, why are you here? No offense, but I didn't think you'd be the sorta person that hung out in a Library, you seemed allot cooler than that." Matty teased, her eyes looking quite mysterious.
It wasn't as if her and the Gryffindor were complete stranger, but they didn't know each other like herself or Tianne did. Heck, she even knew Seth better after they had met in the Forest one morning. Sure, they saw each other in classes allot, but usually Ryan and Seth mucked up, and the girl could only simply grin and shake her head at him. The girl found her hands fiddling with themselves, and she slowly let her eyes rise from them, up to Ryan. No, he honestly couldn't be the reason she was changing in class time. That was... odd.

"Oh whatever," Ryan complained, pulling the book out from under him. It was getting uncomfortable anyways, and he found himself wanted Matty to know that he actually could read. "Oh, uh, just um... Oh whatever." He complained again, not knowing what to say. The young boy couldn't find words, ever since Matty had sat down with him. There was a coolness about her, and Ryan loved that. In fact, he loved everything about the girl. But he didn't think that she thought of him in that way anyways. "Quidditch." he said, throwing the large book on the table in front of him. Ryan smiled at her joke, but he wasn't in the mood for laughing.
Ryan barely knew anything about the girl, except her name was Matty El Wentworth, she was a fourth year, she was in hufflepuff, and she wasreally good at footy. That's pretty much it. "So, I don't know anything about you. Tell me some." He smiled, hoping that the girl shared a few of her secrets with him. The only thing that he was hoping she kept to herself was if shehad a boyfriend. Although Ryan wouldn't care if she did (he'd still like her and flirt with her anyways,) he'd rather not know. "Come on." The boy teased.

Matty held back the urge to 'aww' when Ryan complained. She couldn't do stuff like that. She had a boyfriend... a wonderful guy... And that girl would not let another Jynx affair happen. No way. The girl couldn't help but smile at him when he told what he was reading, and seem a little touchy on the subject. "Don't worry Ryan, I won't tell a soul about your bright side." she leaned forward a little so she could see his face, a genuine smile on her own. "Come on grumpy," she teased, and before long, he asked about herself. She leaned back on the wall, thinking how much she wanted to tell this guy. There was no harm in the simple details she told most others, in fact, there wasn't any harm in slightly smaller details either.
"I guess I should start from the beginning then. My birthday is the twenty third of October. I live in Old London. I live with my dad, step mum and step brother. He's like, 16, which is cool. Uh, my mum passed away when I was seven," the girl paused, as she always did in this situation. "I love Quidditch, and I'm not half bad at chaser. I love old-school and vintage stuff. What else? My favorite colour is blue, I love sports and music. Thats about it," she smiled at her hands. "How about you, tell me about yourself, Callahan?" the Hufflepuff lead her green eyes up to him, as she considered it polite to look a person if they were speaking. Even if she didn't look at the person when she was peaking herself.

Ryan listened intently as the girl described herself. Just incase he needed this in the future, he thought that he'd better memorize it, you know, just in case. "You want to know about me? Oh, well, I came here in my third year. I uh, I'm Irish, you can probably tell by the accent. I'm a massive soccer fan, I go for West Ham United. I used to get in a lot of trouble, heck I still do." Ryan paused, to smile at Matty, hoping she was giving him her full attention. "There really isn't much more. I have a brother, Robbie, then Mum and Dad. We live in a crappy, poor house. Yeah." Ryan didn't know what else to say. That was pretty much it. "Oh, and I've been best friends with Seth since I was, uhh, born. I'm boring, I know." He joked

The girl leaned back on the wall, a small teasing smile still on her face. She listened with interest as Ryan described his life. 'You want to know about me? Oh, well, I came here in my third year. I uh, I'm Irish, you can probably tell by the accent. I'm a massive soccer fan, I go for West Ham United. I used to get in a lot of trouble, heck I still do.' That summed up a bit about his past, as did the next couple of sentences about his family. The bit about Seth made Matty grin. "Really? You've known him for that long? That rad. But your not boring, Ryan Callahan," the Huffle teased, punching him lightly in the arm. "Whaddya wanna be when you grow up?" the teenager asked, running a hand through her hair.

"Yeah, me and Seth go back a long way. He's my playa." Ryan spoke, with a grin on his face. The boy looked into Matty's green eyes, and felt truly happy. There was just this calmness, this serenity that Matty had, and suddenly, he liked her. Though he would never admit it, Ryan had never felt this way about any girl. Ever. "I dunno really. I've always wanted to be a carpenter, but now, healing really appeals to be. That or one of those magical guys that sets those special spells on things, so muggles can't find 'em." Ryan smiled. "What do you want to be, Miss Wentworth?"

Matty let out a small giggle as Ryan commented about the Slytherin being his 'playa'. That was cute. Very cute. The Hufflepuff found her green eyes looking at Callahan more often now. It was like this compelling feeling, like she could stay in this moment forever. But, the girl knew in the back of her head, that she had Leto... and she couldn't hurt him. She'd never want to hurt that boy... but the feeling... it was just so strange. 'I dunno really. I've always wanted to be a carpenter, but now, healing really appeals to be. That or one of those magical guys that sets those special spells on things, so muggles can't find 'em.' The teenager nodded to him. "That sounds fair enough. It's good you have some idea whatcha wanna do, after all." Matty said, flashing him a cute smile.
"Well, once I leave Hogwarts I wanna travel. The rest of Europe, America, Australia, the Islands. Everywhere I can. After that, I reckon I wanna get into Journalism with the Profit. Or maybe some sort of councilor at the Ministry," she girl didn't really think, and stretched out her legs, so they were resting on Ryan's knees. She didn't really considering the dangers in this, but frankly, Matty didn't care what other people thought.

"That'd be cool. But hard, you know. I'd have to raise the money to follow you around, it's much easier if you come to Ireland with me." Ryan smiled at the girl. Her face, lit up like a lightbulb, was so beautiful. She was truly Ryan's 'type'. He laughed after he finally noticed that the girl had rested her legs on his, and the boy looked back into the girls eyes. He felt happy, yet felt weird, he hadn't been like this with a girl for sucha long time. In fact, he hadn't met a girl this attractive, since, well, ever. "You know what Matty, I've never... uhh, don't worry." The boy was going to tell the girl he liked her, but he just couldn't bring himself to do it. The little voice inside of him told him it was a bad idea. And he couldn't not listen to that voice.

The girl's smile didn't falter once. There was just... something about this boy that made her smile. It's not as if she hadn't felt this way before. It was just now she was trying to stop this feeling for once, because it caused trouble. She knew she could tackle this... but... this was Ryan. And he was... well... he was something. That'd be cool. But hard, you know. I'd have to raise the money to follow you around, it's much easier if you come to Ireland with me. The girl snickered a little, shaking her head. "Ireland, huh? I think I'd like that." the Hufflepuff bit back her bottom lip, stopping herself from saying anything more. The teenager was pretty intrigued when he mentioned something about never... never what? "What is it, Ry?" she asked softly, leaning forward, so her elbows were resting on her thighs, letting her hair fall around her face, yet held back by the bandanna.

Ryan bit his lip. He had already said way too much, and unfortunately for Ryan, Matty had picked up on it. Even though the boy had told her bare minimum, she had asked him. Ryan buried his face in his hands, trying to think of an excuse to use. He could always just run off, or he couold say something completely different to his first plans. Or, he could just come out with what he was actaully going[i/] to say. There were so many options, and Ryan just couldn't decide. He bit his lip and chose what he would so. Ryan looked into the girls eyes, leaned forward and gave her a kiss on the cheek. Finally, Ryan got the feeling of closure, even though he had no idea how Matty would react to his sudden display of affection.

The girl didn't know what to expect. Her green eyes were glued to Ryan's face, even though he wasn't looking at her for the entire time. When he eventually did look up, the teenager looked at her feet, trying to avoid whatever look he was giving her. However, Matty looked up just in time to see Ry lean over and place a kiss on her cheek. The girl felt a warm feeling fall through her body. "Ry... I..." have a boyfriend.. the Huffle started, not really knowing how to finish. He didn't know about Leto. She wasn't thinking about Leto. Her mind was a blur. Matty looked into his eyes and smiled, leaning forward further again. She needed to know. "What was that for?" yes, some might say she was pulling him along a bit, but with boys... who knew how they felt?

As soon as the feeling of closure had disappeared, the feeling of stupidness sunk in. He knew that that was a mistake, and that he should keep to himself more. But now, Ryan knew that he had ruined it. If they didn't have a relationship after that, then he knew friendship had gone out the window. "Look Matty. For the record, I like you. A lot. And I know that you think I'm stupid right now, you have to know that from the first time I saw you, I knew that I would have a crush, or more, on you. You're just so calm, serene, beautiful." Ryan buried his head in his hands once again. He hated himself more and more by the second, and his heart hadn';t stopped beating a hundred miles an hour. "Matty... I'm sorry." He said, covering his face.
