"I am...more skilled with a knife." He answered hesitantly, though his fierce gaze showed none of his hesitants. He did not want to give away he was not skilled with a wand, though he figured the Henry could guess that just by knowing Cedar was a first year. When he said that he wouldn't be able to use it much longer he stiffened suspiciously and tightened his grip even more. His other hand went into another pocket for his wand. If he did manage to take it he could always make another but didn't much like the idea of him stealing it.
"And why is that?" He asked. He was certain that this boy was threating him and he was tense. He was ready to try and fight, to show him that he was stronger than himself, or to run away depending on where things went. Not letting go of his wand he drew his hand out of his pocket and picked up his shoes. That was the only movement he made and he did not break eye contact for a second.

"Because..." said Henry, frowning at the boy's apparent lack of strategic thinking "...They..." and he jabbed his thumb over his shoulder at a point behind him "...Will want revenge."
Though his back was to the spot where he indicated, and his hadn't so much as looked back at the spot the whole time he had been there, he had sensed the eyes of what he supposed were the three Slytherin firsts for the better part of Henry's and Cedar's conversation. Indeed, behind him, through the entrance to the courtyard, peered the three young Slytherins, spying on the events taking place in the yard.
"They, unlike you, will not be willing to fight with knives. You can be sure that when they next try their luck against you, they will do it with magic. Your knife may have bested them this time, but it was likely because of the factor of surprise. They'll wait until they can strike you with magic; Until you're alone...then they'll attack, and as there are three of them to your one, they are quite likely to win."

"I'll still be able to use it though. I'll just have to strike first, next time I see them. If they strike first with their wands, I'll use my wand until I can get close enough to cut them." He responded, not looking away from him even when he pointed behind him. "If they win, I'll accept they won. Maybe I'll fight them again so I win, maybe I won't. I can not predict the future. There are more of them and I am without a pack, but they are stupid. They don't know how to fight well." He thought that last fact was evident by the boys all turning around when Henry had first come over. And he could be stealthy, he could sneak up on them and surprise them again. He could do a series of swift surprise attacks on the leader until he gave up. He did not mind fighting, and expected there was always somebody from one of the houses who need to be fought with.
He really felt no threat from the three Slytherins. If he ever did feel a threat from them he would either do his best to eliminate the threat or give up and let them know he was subordinate to them. That was just the way of life. He didn't see what the boy was worried about. Well as long as he was trying to be polite and make conversation he might as well ask. "Why, what would you do?" He wasn't asking for advice and he made that very clear by the way he said and the casual, unworried tone of his voice and put just the slightest sneering emphasis on the word you.

Henry squinted at the younger with a mixture of confusion and incredulity; He couldn't believe what he was hearing, couldn't believe that a Gryffindor was uttering words of such foolishness. Planning, plotting, and premeditating an attack upon three opponents, and if Henry didn't know better, he would have thought the boy didn't have an ounce of skill, as yet, with a wand.
"Oh yes?...And you do know how to duel well with a wand, do you?" said Henry, he had allowed the boy to speak without cutting him off, he had allowed the boy to come to a question and the end of comments without interruption, and now it was Henry's turn. "Think you can take three on one?...You want to know what I think?...I think you haven't yet gotten good with a wand. I think you haven't even figured how to work so much as a stunning spell yet."
Henry paused for a fraction of a moment where he readjusted in his seat, and then continued, not offering the boy enough time to gather a retort.
"What would I do?...I would learn to perform magic, and well, before I start planning to attack fellow students."

"I know just as much magic as they do, which isn't much but its some so I think we are on level footing in a fight because I know magic as well as how to really fight." He explained, once again adopting the air of talking to somebody stupider than he was. "And of course I haven't learned how to do a stunning spell yet, we won't learn that for at least another two or three years." He smirked, his eyes staring challengingly into the older boys. He paused for a moment, more for effect than anything before continuing. "And if I didn't know a lick of magic then do you really think they would wait for me to learn? No, they would deal with me before I learned so I didn't have a chance to learn so I would never pose a threat."
"And you were the one who suggested I started thinking about what to do next." He threw in casually at the end. He was growing quite board with the older boy and only the fact that he was so annoying and thought he was so superior kept him rooted to the seat. Right about now he would have loved to suddenly launch himself at the boy , cut him before he could get to his wand, and run off showing him how effective a non-magic attack could be. He might have to, if he didn't think that this boy would run and tell on him and because he had not shown any violence towards Cedar yet.

"I seriously doubt it was their intention to attack you. At least...not until you attacked them just now." said Henry "And I wasn't suggesting that you start thinking about anything. I was telling you what I'm sure they will do. You would do well not to twist my words, my young friend."
Henry had allowed warning into the final sentence, he didn't appreciate the boy's mannerism, or the way in which he was talking to Henry, but if there was one thing the Henry wouldn't allow to slide, it would be a suggestion that he had said something that he had not. He sat back all the way in his seat, once again crossing his legs, and fixed an even harsher gaze upon the first year.
"You seem to be under the impression that everyone here just attacks each other for no reason..." said Henry "...Where you would have got that impression, I do not know, but you would do very well to remember that there is a very real difference between someone making fun of you, and someone attacking you. You cannot allow yourself to attack someone just because you dislike them, or because they dislike you."

"I did not attack them for no reason, I don't know where you got that impression. And I was just telling you what I would do if they did what you said they would do." He said this simply and clearly as he could though he was getting a little bit confused with keeping track of who said what. "And again I did not just randomly assault somebody, we were shoving each other before you so...bravely came over to help. I just responded fiercer than their first show." He leaned back forward a bit, braking eye contact only occasionally due to blinking. He would love, so dearly love, to lunge at his throat, or at least whip out his wand and repeat all the hexes he could think of hope the results were something unpleasant. He was just annoying.
He snorted in an annoyed fashion and rolled his eyes. Once again breaking eye contact and bowing his head for a moment then leaning back on the bench and watching for what he would do next.

This information was partially new to Henry, evidently he hadn't looked up in time to see the boys pushing Cedar. The fact still remained that he had attacked them whilst their backs were turned; However, he simply stared at the boy, raising his eyebrow once more.
"I find I must apologize." said Henry "It seems I misjudged the situation..."
Henry stood, and turned, pulling his wand as he did so. He flicked his wand at the chair he had been sitting in, which seemed to deteriorate into a fine black powder which was blown away on the cool breeze sweeping the courtyard.
"Good luck to you." said Henry simply, he felt there was no more point arguing the situation, and made to leave...

Good luck to you
This seemed to him an odd thing to say when they had been arguing so intently just moments before. His choice of words would have been something much ruder and possibly more crude. But this boy was strange all around so he wasn't the surprised at it. He put his shoes back under the bench, watched him leave until he was a good distance away, glanced towards where the Slytherins had retreated to and saw that they had left, or at least moved out of sight for the moment, and lie back down on the bench. That had certainly been an odd bit of time but turned out not to be interesting enough to hold his attention as he lie back down because it was not long until his mind had wandered onto other things.
