Alex walked in the classroom, this was another lesson on egypt, because they hadn't finished it yet. He delibertly didn't finish it so he could do something. He placed his bag on the table and placed the crate carrying other egyptian artifacts beside the table, Alex then too out his wand and waved it, all the tables and chairs were pushed against the wall. Alex then walked in the middle and did a complicated spell work, anyone who would arrive now would see a pyramid that was able to get one kid in by the looks of it on the outside. Alex finished the spell work and looked at the golden pyramid, "good enough" he muttered. Then he entered the pyramid and looked inside, inside was full of room and many doors to explore. The students would love to see the things in here, he smiled and then exited the pyramid. Alex then walked over to the board and tapped it: Welcome! Anyone who enters, don't touch the pyramid yet, just sit down on the floor infront of my desk... Alex nodded and then he went over to his desk and sat down, looking at the pyramid and smiling. He didn't know what this would turn out as, but he knew it would be exciting. He looked at the door and then back at the pyramid, waiting for his class to come.

Tianne was really looking forward to this subject. Not only was it her best, it was one that she was pretty sure that she was going to be pursueing outside of school. Before her talk with Professor Griffiths, Tianne hadn't really known anything about being an historian, and she sure hadn't considered it as a later profession. But nevertheless, now, she was almost sure that she had made up her mind. She just had to talk to her Professor once again, and, of course, ask for another book, as she had finished the interesting one that he had written. She hoped that he would let her, but the man seemed nice, and generous, so she was fairly sure.
Tianne wandered into the room, dressed in her usual school robes, and with a big smile upon her face. In her hand, she carried her sling bag, full of parchment, ink, and everything she'd need for the lesson, and in her other, the bok on Asia that she had borrowed. "Hey Professor." She said, smiling at the man, before looking at the pyramid, and the board. "Okay..." She mumbled, sitting herself down in front of the Professor's desk. "Hey, um, I have this. I was wondering if I could borrow another one, it was really interesting." She complimented, a genuine smiled upon her happy face.

Xander smiled at Tianne as she entered, she had been the one that he had allowed to read and borrow his book. He was sure she'd most likely be interested in it, "Hello, Tianne" he said. Xander then nodded at her question and said "Sure, why not" he then opened his bag and took out the other four books and stood up, then he placed them infront of her and sat down on the floor next to her. "Choose which one you'd like to read next, then just return the book about Asia on top of the other books" he said.
Xander looked around the room and was glad that she was the first student here, he looked back at Tianne and smiled again. "So Tianne... Anything interest you in your reading about the histories of Asia and the life's of historians there?" he asked, he was interested in asking the girl. She was someone who he had shared the same enthusiasm about history, and he was hoping to get a positive reply from her.

Clearly Autumn wasn't really looking forward to this class. She always did better in practical classes such as charms or herbology. Sitting around learning about times past? That really wasn't her this. She did love reading about history, but only the really cool bits. Nevertheless she walked on towards her class. After getting lost twice she finally stopped a firstie and asked where the classroom was. The little firstie girl pointed to a classroom a few feet away. With a swift smile and a thumbs up she was off.
She walked into the class, looking around. The teacher was sitting behind his desk, staring at a pyramid. This brought a smile to Autumn's face. A few years ago her family went to Egypt to see the pyramids. This brought back memories. "Hello Professor!" Autumn said, still grinning as she sat down on the ground where she was instructed to.

Xander turned around when someone came in and saw that it was another Ravenclaw, he gave her a smile and then he stood up and walked over to the pyramid. "Hello, miss... uhm... may I know your name my dear?" he said, his greeting turning into a question. He'd have to remember to ask them to say their names, he then turned back to the pyramid and felt the surface of it. He smiled, satisfied that he had done a good job of replicating it this time. "After discussing about Tuhkep, egyptian wizards and Tuhkep's squib graddaughter, we will explore a replication of the pyramids" he explained, not looking at the two students, but at the pyramid.

Autumn looked up at her Professor as he walked up to the pyramid. "Oh, uh, I'm Autumn, sir." She said to him. She had to remember she hadn't been here long, most of the teachers didn't know her name yet. She stood up and walked closer to the pyramid without touching it. As she walked around it she couldn't not stare at it. It was beautiful.
As she heard about what the lesson they'd be doing today she was getting even more excited. Maybe this class wouldn't be so bad after all. "Wizards from Egypt were so cool! My parents took me and my two sisters there a few years ago. The crypts and catacombs were amazing. We couldn't go in some because the curses they put on them haven't been broken yet! The curses lasted all this time!"

A pyramid? Beau stopped in his tracks and rubbed absently at his chin, wondering if he was seeing things. It took him a moment or two to remember that they had been studying ancient Egypt, so it would only make sense that there be a pyramid in the middle of the classroom. Well... that or Professor Griffiths was going bonkers. Beau didn't think so, he had rather liked the man from the last lesson he had had with him. Plus Beau kind of though history was interesting. He read the board as he walked into the classroom more and noticed two girls already there.
He smiled at both of them and waved at Autumn as he walked over to them. They were gathered around the pyramid so Beau stood, staring at it. What did Professor Griffiths have up his sleeve today?

Xander nodded at Autumn, then he took out his wand and waved it at the pyramid. He then started incanting an ancient spell, he then pulled something clothed in his pocket and when he grasped the chain, the cloth fell down and the eye of rah was revealed. He then held up the eye of rah, then he continued the incantation. After a few minutes, the pendant glowed and a small golden bubble that was covering the pyramid shown and then was sucked into the pendant. "Now, this might be weird, but I finally figured out the most minor uses of this pendant. Aside from being a cruse maker, it is a curse reverser and whoever owns it last can use it when it is reversing curses." he said, walking over to a hidden chest under his table and putting the pendant carefully inside.
Xander then glanced at the new arrival, beau. "Hello, Beau" he greeted, smiling at the boy. Xander shut the chest and put it on top of his desk, then he faced the students again. "what you just saw me doing is the ancient ritual of curse breaking, they use the eye of Rah for that or Tuhkep uses the eye of Rah. Now, as you noticed... I was the only one who can touch the pyramid, it's because of the curse I put there. Very ancient and safe for the curse maker and his family... the curse recognizes the curse maker and let's him and anyone who has their blood in" he explained.
"Now, I'll have you guys go in the pyramid. But, what it looks on the outside is much bigger on the inside. There are many secrets there and you must find them, on the board" he tapped the board and the list of things to look for appeared: 1. a golden Tome 2. 2 scepters each 3. a miniature sculpture of the egyptian sphinx 4. the robe of an egyptian magician 5. replica's of the eye of Rah, torture cup, and the time pyramid. 6. a pouch of Egyptian illusion powder.
"Be careful and don't get lost, but you also have to take note of what you see in eachroom, so keep your eyes wandering. A bonus for this, whoever finds the tomb of the pharaoh that I have placed there will earn 50 additional points. I don't want anyone fighting though, this is just a game and you should have fun. A reminder, when you find the pouch of powder, you can keep it, but I must see all the things here are completed" Xander finished and smiled at his students, then he conjured up 3 boxes. One with the letter T on it, the other with the letter A and the last with the letter B. "Put yopur artifacts here when your done and show me the pouch" he added.
((anyone who's still going into class, better have an excuse to being late))
((and so to have a fair hunt, I don't wanna see easy wins. And don't make the hunt that sudden, make it last a few posts))

Autumn thought her ears were lying to her. They were to go in? What was this man thinking! Autumn was never one to not listen to a teacher but this seemed like a good of time as any. With a gulp she stepped forward, going first. With a second though she turned to her professor. "You really mean for us to go in?" She almost thought he was joking. She hoped he was joking.
She took the box and held it to her chest, still looking a but worried. She gave a look back to Beau and Tianne. She gave a worried giggle and stepped forward again, hoping her teacher would stop her. "Well...if I don't come back tell my sister Greer she can't have my bedroom." And with that she stepped in, waiting for another one of her classmates to come in too.

Emeric slipped quietly into the room just before Professor Griffiths launched into his shpeel about what they would be doing today. He nodded every so often, glancing over to check out the competition. Beau, Tianne, and... the new girl. Autumn or something? Something weather related. He smirked at the idea of someone named Spring or Winter. ' 1. a golden Tome 2. 2 scepters each 3. a miniature sculpture of the egyptian sphinx 4. the robe of an egyptian magician 5. replica's of the eye of Rah, torture cup, and the time pyramid. 6. a pouch of Egyptian illusion powder.'
That sounded easy enough. He stepped forward out of the shadows of the room and removed his cloak and pushing up his sleeves. If he was going to go for it, he might as well go all in. Emeric reached forward and grabbed his own box labeled ' E ' just as the girl, Autumn or whoever she was, stepped forward and questioned if Professor Griffiths really meant for them to go in. He smirked slightly, walking into the pyramid.

Despite the fact that Matty had missed the Professor's first explanation of why the Pyramid was there, she managed to get into class as he began to explain what they would find in the Pyramid. It seemed simple enough, however the Hufflepuff knew better than to assume that this lesson was going to be straight forward. Professor Griffiths was more interesting than that. The Hufflepuff watched him make boxes for the students, whilst leaning on the wall next to the door. She flashed a smile to Tianne, spotting her best mate already here. Once the man had finished speaking, and allowed students to enter the room, Matty walked up to him. "Sorry for being late, sir, some second year girls were having a fit when a boy set off some dung bombs on the second floor, and it was hard to find another way here." she said, honestly. In fact, the girl had even smelt of dung bombs before she cleaned herself up.
Matty then noticed Emeric remove his cloak, and the girl did the same thing, however leaving her scarf on. She grabbed her own box, and nodded her head to wards her Ravenclaw friend before walking up to the Pyramid. Matty sighed slightly, then walked in. She was excited and nervous at the same time. The girl looked at a split pathway and took the right fork. She walked into a room, filled with ancient scrolls and wooden cabinets filled with odds items. Immediately, the girl walked up to one of the cabinets, and glanced along the shelfs of miniature figurines. She'd be happy if she found anything on that list.

Xander smiled encouragingly at Autumn as she was first to go inside, he was keeping quiet for a reason. He wanted to test their knowledge of the items, he had placed charms on the items. The replica's of the eye of Rah would send a minor jolt of electricity to the holder just enough to make them let go of the pendant, the torture cup would make the hand of the holder irritated and feel like being bit by a lot of ants, also enough to make them let go. The time pyramid was harmless, but they better not put anything in there or it will be tranfigured into live ferrets. The robe was better put on than folded, his charm made it have a time limit of how long it should be held, after a few minutes it disappears and reappears into another room. the scpeters, the tome, the powder and the sculpture were the only one's not doing anything. "That's a history lesson waiting to happen, so you have all better read the ingenius methods of the egyptians. You will encounter those in there" he called out to the students who went in, the pyramid was designed to have whoever inside hear what anyone says outside as long as they call it out.
Xander shook his head and sat down on his desk, looking at Tianne and questionly and waiting for her to go in the pyramid herself.

Tianne grinned at her professor as she put the book from asia back on the pile. Grabbing one, without even looking what it said on the inside, Tianne paused, thinking of her favourite thing about the book. She liked the descriptions of the artefacts, and the way that the historians had to live while over there, and of course, the extent of excatvation that they all went through. It was fascinating. "I don't really have a favourite part. It all just made me sort of excited, you know, thinking that one day, i might be able to do tose sort of things too." Tianne shrugged.
Glancing at the inside of the cover, Tianne grinned. "Africa." She said to herself, before looking at the others as they entered. "Hey Autumn." Tianne said politely, giving the girl a smile. She didn't know the other boy hat had entered, but recognised him as being a hufflepuff. Tianne gave Autumn an approving grin as she entered, but the young girl really wanted to wait for Matty before she went in. She had to see her best friend before hand, they always did, no matter what subject.
As soon as her hufflepuff friend entered the room and took off her cloak, following what Emeric did, Tianne removed hers aswell, and smiled at the Professor. "Seeya." She said, as she went into the pyramid, a big grin across her eager face. She didn't know how she was going to do this, but if she wanted to be a good historian, this is where it all started. Naming all the things she had to find, Tianne glanced over at a pile of scrolls and things. Deciding that was where she was to start, Tianne grinned. This was the best History lesson... Ever!

Abby just kind of stared at the professor. Had she really heard that right? They were going in and it was supposed to be a game? Yeah...no. Abby wasn't having any of that. She wrote down the list of things they needed to find, but she really had no desire to do it. The Gryffindor leaned back on her hands, looking up at her teacher and then around at everyone else. They all seemed pretty excited about it, but Abby wasn't convinced. Maybe it wouldn't be completely terrible, but she was still a little wary. And she didn't really know anyone in the class well enough to cling onto them if needed. With a frown, Abby turned her attention back to the pyramid, staring it down.

Ellie stood, slightly dumbfounded. She had been all to prepared for another lesson of taking notes and jotting down the random things that Professor Griffiths liked to tell her. At the mention of it being a more hands on lesson, Ellie was flabbergasted.
Making an attempt to participate in the ' hands on ' lesson, she prepared herself to enter the pyramid. From the outside it didn't look like many people could fit inside, but she knew this was just a fluke. As with many magical obejcts, they were much bigger on the inside than the outside. She didn't mind, it was actually kind of refreshing. Passing by her brother with a small smile to him, she entered the pyramid, ready to find all of the objects that needed to be found. The list of things to locate was relatively short so Ellie didn't anticipate the lesson taking too long. Or rather, she hoped it didn't.
