Taking Drew's hand and pulling herself up, she was glad she'd called him over. Not only because she liked being near him like that, but because she was sure her knees were about ready to give out. If she'd gotten up on her own, her bum would've met the floor once more before she got the chance to grasp something. With Drew right there, she could heavily lean into him and pretend her legs weren't made of substance so wobbly she could actually have been standing on her own. Some Gryffindor she made.
"But my detention isn't over yet," Felicity told him, looking up at him imploringly. Surely he couldn't actually stay and do the detention along with her, what Professor would actually allow the likes of that happening. And if she walked out now, wouldn't she only be in more trouble with a number of detentions more waiting her for the rest of the year? A month was enough, especially since it meant she wasn't allowed to spend time with her friends or study for classes. Instead she had to sacrifice her friend time for study time, and hanging out at the library was fun, but not when you really had to study. At least her friends had a good majority of the same classes as her, and what classes Drew didn't take alongside her, he could help her with if he was done with his own homework.
Though she really didn't like the History of Magic Professor, she didn't think Drew being an alec around him was going to help any, and Felicity gave him a look to cut it out. She liked that he was trying to defend her, that Alfonz was kind of doing the same thing, but couldn't someone just say...so-and-so wants to see you...? Wouldn't that be simple to do? Why didn't they think to do that?
And besides, she kind of wanted to help out with that night's detention, she just didn't like being frightened. If he'd explained to what he was doing, instead of being so brash, the blonde wouldn't have been so scared out of her wits, just more careful.
The promise Drew made aloud to everyone else in the room, to not leave without her, made Felicity feel slightly better, and she forgave him for being an alec. And replacing the look of apology she'd given him, the lioness' hand went around his back and gently clutched at his shirt, feeling the folds beneath her fingers. So they weren't leaving her to the wolves, or at least Drew wasn't, but she didn't feel any better about it.
"Drew, I need to finish the detention," she told him quietly, looking up at him, but not wanting him to leave her there. But if she didn't finish it tonight, what if she was given more?

"Felicity, if your to finish your detention with him being here, I suggest your boyfriend holds his tongue and stay quiet" he said, looking genuinely annoyed now. Alex then just decided to ignore Jedynak, and added to Felicity "Also your boyfriend better not complain or I will throw him out my office myself." He then went to his table and started on the letter again, but he stopped and opened the crate. He then started sorting them out, he took all the sensitive artifacts there and put them on his desk. "Felicity make a list if the items here, none of them are dangerous except these ones on my table. There are exactly 6 items left there" he said, pointing at the crate, then he put the book inside there too and floated the crate towards Felicity, then he conjured an extra inkwell, a quill and a roll of parchment. He floated them towards Felicity too.
Alex then turned back to his writing and pointedly ignored the two other persons there, he wrote the letter and while he was writing his hand brushed a part of the torture cup and he yelped and withrew his hand, immediately blood was dropping like rain down on the parchment he was writing on. Alex sighed and then he bandaged his hand and cleaned the parchment of the blood, then he took another cloth and wrapped it around the cup. Alex then started writing again and didn't look up after that.
Some night, how could this get any worse? Jedynak is annoying me, Thornton is adding, then Felicity is not done with her detention... Gods and Goddesses, what's next? he thought, hiding his emotions now and just continuing to write. Hogwarts is the death of me, or it's older students are and this irritable quidditch player he thought, continuing to write. Alex only looked up to count the items or look at them, best is to ignore and pretend to be only with your student. Ignore the two other extras, that was something Alex could do, unless Alfonz opened his mouth with another series of trouble.

Alfonz wasn’t much to say anything for the Thornton boy, or the Hjort girl, but in this case, Alfonz wasn’t one not to say anything either. Frankly, Griffiths was digging himself a hole, and Thornton was handing him a shovel to continue digging. “Sent it to her yourself? I wouldn’t even admit to, nor think of something like that. You’d be stepping that fine line of leaving her to herself that I told you about.” Listening to Drew in the background, Alfonz turned to face the Raven and saw his smirk.
Of course, before anything more could be said, Griffiths went back to his business ignoring Alfonz completely. Rasing and eyebrow, the quidditch player looked towards the Raven boy and wondered about what to do next. There was no need for him to still be there, and just as little care to do so as well. “Looks like someone’s a bit threatened…” Alfonz sneered, a small snicker forming afterwards. “…can’t handle anything but tormenting women. That’s why, Thronton. Griffiths obviously has no backbone.”

"I can help you," Drew answered Felicity softly, feeling more in control with her hand on his back. If she truly deserved this detention (and Drew would be willing to argue that point as well), then he deserved it as well.
Felicity, if you're to finish your detention with him being here, I suggest your boyfriend holds his tongue and stay quiet. Also your boyfriend better not complain or I will throw him out my office myself.
"Mr. Griffiths, forgive me, but you don't have a choice," Drew answered through gritted teeth, noting that he had been reduced to the equivalent of "that boy" when it came to the historian. Drew didn't care, and he sure as heck wasn't about to be intimidated by the likes of that man. If Griffiths laid a hand or a spell on him, Drew would fight back with the full confidence of knowing he was acting in self defense and in the defense of Felicity. "I'm staying as long as Felicity is."
As Alfonz spoke to him, Drew couldn't help but smirk back at the Quidditch ref. The two of them had never gotten along well, but they were obviously in agreement when it came to this. "I have yet to have any of my questions answered sufficently. All I hear are vague responses and a change of subject," Drew said, not about to hold his tongue until the man explained himself properly. No backbone. Exactly the kind of man that would threaten and scare sixteen year old girls.

Now that was called crossing the line "Get out" he said, not looking up at them. "Jedynak, thornton get out. Thornton, if you don't get out I'll give you a longer detention than Hjort" he said, slowly looking up at them with his eyes dangerously unreadable and also his face. "Get out of my office, now" he said, he didn't care if this was the all important head boy and quidditch ref. He would throw them out if he had to.
"Get out of my office, I don't want to see your face or your's in my office until the end of term" he said, pointing at Jedynak and Thornton. "Hjort has a detention with me and your green minds won't stop me from giving a student, prefect, head boy/girl or even a student related to a teacher or not. Now Get out" he said, his face and eyes still unreadable. "I won't take arrogant head boys and petty quidditch ref.'s who walk into my office so suddenly too lightly" he added, standing up now.

Nodding at the man explaining how things were to be, and the fact he was allowing Drew to stay with her if he wanted to, Felicity was willing to agree to just about anything. Just keep Drew quiet, it couldn't be that hard, right? And she didn't think the professor would mind if she and Drew spoke quietly to one another, he just didn't want the Head Boy bothering him all night. It wasn't a big deal, or she didn't think it was, Drew could stay quiet when he wanted to and she didn't want him to leave her there alone. Though, even if she was to remain alone, she knew she would just to get the detentions over with.
Again nodding in answer to the directions she was given, Felicity didn't make a move to actually make the list. Making the list would require her to let go of Drew, and letting go of Drew at that moment didn't sound like that great of an idea. Her knees were still wobbly feeling and her stomach wasn't feeling too well at the moment either. Though, her eyes traveled back up to the face of her boyfriend when he told her he'd help. Once more, a nod. That was a good idea, he could help her and keep her safe and keep her from falling over.
But then Drew spoke up again. Why? Why did he say anything?
And the man responded with the demand Drew and Alfonz leave. She didn't want that. While she preferred having Drew over Alfonz, she didn't want either of them ordered out, especially when she was to stay behind.
"Drew?" she whispered looking up at him. Why did he say anything? Why couldn't he just stay quiet? "Pro-Professor?" Felicity said a little louder, turning to look at the man and trying not to cry. "Please...can Drew-Can Drew stay, please?"
She didn't want to stay alone, especially when the man was angry again.

"If that's the offer, I'll gladly take the detentions, thank you," Drew answered back, making no move at all to leave. "It's what I've been asking for, isn't it? Why did she get a detention to begin with and I got nothing for doing the same exact thing?"
The sound of Felicity voice made him even angrier. She shouldn't have to plead anything from this man. "In fact, how about you let Felicity off with no more detention and I'll take over her time as well." No, he wasn't leaving without the Gryffindor girl, but he was more than willing to let her go without him. Anything to get her away from this awful creep.
Of course, Drew highly doubted the man would agree. It meant he wouldn't have a young girl in his clasp anymore.

Alex turned to Felicity and his clouded eyes started to clear into a pair of sad eyes, "Alright Felicity, he can stay" he said. Alright, he didn't want these things more than anything, but they just remind him of his sister and someone... mainly his friends and... Annemarie. Alex looked away as the memories started coming back to him, he then sighed. Alex could remember everything now, Alfonz and Andrew reminded him of a friend turned enemy. Alex shook his head and his expression became blank again and his eyes clouded over.
Alex turned to Alfonz, "Get out" he said simply. Alex turned to Andrew and said "no detentions" he then turned to his shelves and sighed, Alex crumpled the paper on the desk and set it on fire, then he grabbed the cup and the pendant. The cup was no longer wrapped and his hand was bleeding freely and the cuts were really deep now, he was holding the pendant's chain though. Alex didn't mind the almost unbearabel torture, but having his hands melted was something else. Alex set them down next to the Griffin caller and then waved his wand and cleaned the cup, he then waved his wand over his hand and bandaged it up to his arm.
Alex then took the staff and put it back in the crate, then he looked at the floor and cleared it of his blood. Alex then sat down on the desk and took out a moving picture from his desk drawer and looked at it, it was a picture of him, his sister, and his friends, Annemarie was also there. They were still at hogwarts and still with no care for the world, he had never seen his friends since then and also, he lost contact with his friends and Annemarie. Alex sighed and just sat there and looked at the picture.

So, Griffiths' wanted him to leave, Drew was staying, Felicity was pleading as much as she could, and Alfonz himself was still standing in the doorway of the office. He made himself comfortable, leaning against the doorway and yawning mockingly at the man. It was evident that he was busy, but there was just something in Felicity's voice that Alfonz didn't like at all. It reminded him of times he wished he could forget...most of all, it reminded him of January. Alfonz's gaze narrowed at the man, and though he was then allowing Drew to stay with the girl, Alfonz saw no reason in leaving just yet. He wasn't done with this man. It was obvious that Griffiths had no backbone, and Alfonz for some reason wanted to push him further.
Was it because he was being foolish? Possibly. Was it because of Felicity alone? Never. But there was something about this man that Alfonz didn't like...a sense of familiarity that Alfonz was disgusted by. Celina had sensed it too, and it had made Alfonz realize just how powerful this man really was. Magically? No. But he had a sense about him that both Jedynaks secretly feared, and what caused their blood to boil so violently.
As Alexander went near his desk doing whatever, Alfonz watched as the man pulled a picture out from his desk and looked at it. A smirk formed on the twenty one year old's face, and he took a chance, without thinking. With a sudden flick of his wand without any sound, Alfonz set fire to the picture that Alexander Griffiths held. For some reason, Alfonz felt as if he had to show Griffiths whom really had no power over others in Hogwarts.
It may not have been Alfonz whom did have the power....but it certainly wouldn't be this man either.

Alex was shocked as the picture went in flames and his eyes unclouded and turned into an angry one, he crumpled the picture as it burned in his hand and the fire extinguished to the half burned picture. He then suddenly stood up and strode over to Alfonz, still holding the half of the burned picture. He then grabbed the front of Alfonz's robes with his other hand "You... you..." he said, wanting nothing but to shove Alfonz out of his office bodily or kill him. "Your the most heartless person I've ever had the misfortune to meet and I wonder why your sister still sees you as a brother, you honestly don't know what that picture contained... well for your information I lost my sister and that was my only remembrance of her. If I were you I'd leave before I do something else to you" he said, letting go of his robes and facing away before punching Alfonz in the face.
Alex didn't care if the headboy and the prefect saw him do it or if Alfonz would tell the headmistress, he didn't tolerate people so arrogant, especially one's like Alfonz Jedynak. He especially didn't appreciate seeing the only memory he had of his sister and friends burnt to ashes. "Leave my office and I don't want to see you step foot here again Jedynak" he said, then he walked over to his desk and threw the half burned picture, it landed near Felicity's feet. Alex didn't care anymore, he pulled out a sheet of paper. "Tell your sister, that next time she personally comes to my office. I don't want to see your face here in my office, I might do something worse if I do" he said, furiously writing something on the paper.
Alex then tore the paper in half and sighed in frustration, he couldn't even write a half decent letter to his colleagues after this moron had just burned the most precious he had. the only picture and reminder of his past, his sister and his friends.

"Out. Now!" Drew growled hastily, grabbing Felicity and pulling her towards the door. Forget detentions, forget even points. The Ravenclaw had understood what Alfonz was doing, had thought it a bit ridiculous himself that Griffiths had given his "permission" when Drew had made it clear he wasn't leaving, but the burning of whatever that had been had crossed the line.
Drew skirted the charred remains like it was a last little bit of Evil that shouldn't be touched. He wanted nothing to do with this psychotic man anymore. Griffiths was yelling at Alfonz, went so far as to actually hit the him, and saying a number of things that Drew was sure would send the Quidditch pro off. Drew wanted to make sure he and Felicity were far away from this office before an all out brawl started.

When Drew offered to take her detentions as well as extra, Felicity began shaking her head. If Drew took all the detentions that would mean he wouldn't have time to hang out with anyone or to study for his exams. He was set to take the N.E.W.T.s at the end of the year, but she didn't have any major exams to take and wouldn't allow him not to study a little bit at least. She was fine with doing her own detentions, she just didn't want to be alone with the Professor while he was angry, when he was angry, she was frightened.
While she thought it was odd he was basically demanding detentions, she almost had a glimmer of hope that he would be getting them, just so she wouldn't have to take part in the detentions alone. However, Griffiths' wasn't about to give Drew them, but he did say Drew could stay, at least for that night. A little wave of relief swept over the blonde at the permission for Drew to stay with her and she immediately leaned into Drew and closed her eyes for a mere moment.
When her brown eyes opened, nothing seemed to be right in proper order. Instead Griffiths was suddenly yelling at Celina's brother and then he...he punched Alfonz? Right in the face! Felicity's next immediate reaction, despite Drew's demand for her to leave, was to clutch at Drew again and try not to let the wobbliness of her knees get to her. However with Drew pulling at her she didn't have much choice but to do as he was commanding. The man wasn't just a madman, he was violent to boot!
But because of the condition of her knees, when Drew kept moving forward toward the door, the blonde fell to the floor, knees meeting the cold beneath. And as she scrambled to stand back upright, something caught her attention, it looked like a picture... Curious as she was, this wasn't the time to let curiosity get the best of her and for once she knew it. Picking the photograph up she shoved it into her robes pocket as she regained her standing posture and kept close to Drew, following him.

Exactly what the professional Quidditch player had expected. Muggle that it was, the man had hurled off and punched Alfonz right in the face. Falling backwards slightly, Alfonz’s wand skidded across the floor and it wasn’t the fact that he was wandless, nor was it the fact that the man had gotten angry that had the older of the two Jedynak’s pondering…it was the look in the man’s eyes as he had come at him with. The reasons behind all that angered him. A sister? Alfonz highly doubted someone as sexist and woman hating as this man seemed to be had anything but an abused being at his aid. And yet, it wasn’t that either that concerned Alfonz.
Rubbing the side of his face where he had been hit, Alfonz stood up, locating his wand with only his eyes. His body shook, and he couldn’t tell if it was from nerves or the realization he had just made. Finally, the man could be compared to someone Alfonz knew…finally, Alfonz put pieces of a puzzle together that no other would ever know about. It was his father that Alfonz saw in Alexander Griffiths, and it literally scared the magic out of him.
Looking at the man, he tipped his head, smirking as he did so. “Well, there’s the backbone,” he tried to say without his voice shaking slightly. “And as for my sister being anywhere even remotely alone with you for any reason…I’m respectfully going to have to decline that, thanks.” Alfonz knew what it was now that he wanted to avoid, and that was this man. There was just something about him that made the young boy in Alfonz want to find his mother and curl up in her arms…he shook the thoughts away.
“But I’d watch it if I were you, Griffiths….” Alfonz said as he picked up his wand and walked away slightly. Alfonz caught sight of Drew and Felicity trying leave and smirked again. For some reason, it felt good to see the teens attempting an escape as he proved to be a distraction. So many times had that been their tactic....again, Alfonz shook away the thoughts. “There are more dangerous fellows on this campus than just I…” Alfonz lied, pocketing his wand and going back to his office to tell Celina that the book wasn’t anywhere near Griffiths…and hoping that the bruise forming wouldn’t be too noticeable.

Alex didn't even mind Felicity and Andrew leaving, he just waved his wand and shut the door, locking it, as Alfonz left. Whatever kind insult or what kind of rumor that spreads, it won't compare to the anger he felt right now. Alex then slumped to the chair and sighed, Where are you Ariane? your big brother needs you right now he thought. Tears were threatening to come out and Alex had to block his emotions again. There was still lingering anger there as he looked at his raw hand, anger for Alfonz Jedynak. It was an anger he never felt before, not even to his past enemies.
Alex sighed and looked around, then he waved his wand and cleared the room of whatever ash was there. He didn't want to see that picture, not anymore that is. Alex felt like he was being someone... someone he didn't want to be... He didn't want to be his father. But wasn't Alex just doing what his father would have done? No, it was just a simple act for defending himself... Defending from what? your emotions? are you human or not? a voice said in his head, I am...I'm just lost in a sea of memories that I want to forget he thought. Alex closed his eyes and finally let a tear trickle down his face, the only tear he had let out all these years.

In his rush to get her out, Drew hadn't even realized how quickly he was moving, causing her to stumble in the attempt to keep up with his long stride. He turned back to help her up, concerned over her well being but totally missing the fact that she had picked up the burnt picture.
"You're okay?" he asked, ushering her out the door as quickly as he could, just as Alfonz was making his final farewells. The Ravenclaw would do everything he could to keep Felicity from doing another minute of detention with that madman of a historian, even if he had to do it all himself.
