"Well getting away with everything I can handle...." Cole replied with a chuckle. He began to play with his hair subconsciously before continuing on "So your a pyromaniac then eh? Not to worry, I love fire too..." Cole said with a grin that was slightly sadistic just to add to the effect of the words he had spoken. Wow...into fire and pranking too...I found myself a keeper supposing I ever catch it... Cole thought jokingly.
Cole caught the sparkle in Delilah's eye when she talked of all the goodies she had stashed away. That beautiful smile blew him away every time and she didn't even have to try. Cole looked at her with a huge grin knowing he would have to take some time with her to see what she had all bought. "I'd like to see that sometime if you don't mind me saying so." Cole said with a smile.

To be sure, Chris' faint annoyance was easily waning. But he felt, perhaps, that he ought to reevaluate the situation before acting so impetuously. Taking the pen and paper, a little smile of glee escaped across his face. THIS WAS SOOOO WEIRD! A featherless quill! It felt too sleek and looked very... what was the word? It didn't come to Chris, so he cleared his throat and tried to wipe the gleeful expression from his face. It was difficult.
He started with a C. It looked very smug. It felt a little smug too. He looked up for the inkwell, and then remembered that with a pen, no inkwell was necessary. It was fascinating. "So, if a pen doesn't need to be dipped into an inkwell - where is the ink?" Did Muggles know some sort of magic that wizards didn't? And, who was this boy that he should possess something like this without being a Muggle himself?
Chris was starting to get the hang of writing with a pen. It was similar in many ways to a quill, but there were some stark contrasts to it as well. One very nice asset to the "pen" was that it didn't drip ink on the lined parchment. Many an essay had been nearly finished and yet ruined by that bothersome ink splotch dripped onto his rolls of parchment throughout last term. Deciding that, perhaps some small chat would break the silence, Chris asked the obvious questions: "What house are you looking at getting after?" "Are you interested in Quidditch at all?" "Are your family all from Hogwarts?" That sort of stuff. And as he did, he returned the lined parchment and the "pen" to Tho, thanking him first.

Delilah laughed hard, and beamed up at Cole, "Well well well, seems like I'll have to teach you a few spells... They're fantastic for your average Pyromaniac." She said, glad that Cole wasn't freaking out over the fact that his new friend (and hopefully crush) was obsessed with the stuff. He'd only have to talk to Connor Manning to find out just how troublesome this small girl could be.
"Then I suppose you'll have to accompany me to the Library..." She said, a huge smirk on her face. Delilah always found some way to be up to no good. And although this little prank wouldn't hurt anyone, it would definetly get some eyes turning her way. She loved the reactions she could get, and frankly, it was hilarious.

Okay, so leaving her big brother again wasn't exactly what Trixi wanted to do. However the prospect of being able to do magic again, and her correspondence with an old wizard she had met in a shop the previous year, the young girl once again had showed up at the train station. This year on her own. Her brother was now working two jobs and was very busy and her parents had lots more work to do on the farm without her brother so everyone was a bit too busy to make the trek to London with the 13 year old blonde. However Trixi didn't really care. She preferred to be on her own when she got to the train station anyway.
It was strange really to think Trixi was already a third year, it didn't seem that long ago that she had been so confused about what magic was, about where she was about to hop on a train to. Or where her path would take her. However now she was a third year and rearing to get back to doing magic. It seemed like the best idea in the world to her. Although she would still miss her big brother.
Trixi had loaded her trunk and pets onto the train. Her owl and cat tucked away in their respective cage and basket and had jumped back off of the train to have a look for someone she knew. However the young girl couldnt really find anyone among the masses of students that seemed to be congregating on the platform. That didn't worry her too much however. Lots of faces were familiar, others she didn't recognise at all. That was a good thing. More people to trick into her own wicked ways. Or at least thats how Trixi saw it.
With the train whistle blowing and everyone now racing to get onto the train. Trixi too made her way onto the train. Trixi began to walk down the train, her eyes searching, not for an empty compartment, but for a friendly face. Luckily, she had barely taken two steps before finding one.
"Claire!" Trixi squealed as she spotted her friend. Trixi raced over to the other third year Slytherin. Trixi was glad she was still coming to Hogwarts and extremely glad she had found Claire on the train.

Why did she really have to go? Some day she was more than sure she could work with the creatures she wanted to, even if she didn't finish at Hogwarts. And she could still take the N.E.W.T.s in June with everyone else, maybe she wouldn't score as well, but what if Drew was willing to help her learn and study, even though she knew he was going to be really busy with training. But staying home would solve so many things, she could see him more, she could spend more time with her mum, she could still take the tests, she could work, continue with muggle school, maybe get into university on a scholarship since she knew her dad would make her attend if she stayed home, she could work. It would be all right, and she knew it. Why did she have to go back?
Because of so many more reasons.
If she didn't go, she'd never have a chance to miss Drew, they'd never have a chance to make up for lost time, her mum would be disappointed, and she'd be required to attend muggle schooling which she didn't want to do.
His kiss meant so much to her and she didn't want it to end, but with the last calls for boarding she heard and the train blowing its whistle, she didn't have much time. Why could time just freeze like it sometimes did in the movies? There were times in her life where it felt like that, but this moment didn't seem to be one of them, it wasn't giving her the time she needed to be with Drew.
Holding onto him, unwilling to let go, her light brown eyes remained closed, feeling his breath against her skin and the tears in her eyes start to slowly roll. "I love you, too, Drew," she whispered back, really wishing this didn't have to happen.

"I'll write you a letter tonight. And I'm going to do everything I can to be there for the first Hogsmeade trip," he told her, again, for the millionth time, but needing to say it.
The train was huffing and steaming forcefully, and Drew knew if she didn't get on soon, she'd miss it totally. He debated the pros and cons of the possibility, considering the chance to stay with her a little longer and then maybe Apparating to Hogsmeade later that night or early that morning in time for classes. Drew didn't think her mom would be too happy with that though.
He gave her another small kiss before pulling back to just holding her hands so he could walk her to the train. He'd give her one more kiss before putting her on and then stand on the platform until he couldn't see the train anymore. "You have to go," he told her softly, hoping his smile looked more assuring than it felt. "I hate this, but you have to go."

"I promise I'll write you in the morning," she answered, knowing that she'd likely stay up all night just to get his letter and write him back right away. Even though she didn't like staying up late at night she would just for his letter. And though he promised to be at the village when they got to go, she knew he couldn't really promise to actually be there because what if he was called to train that day? It just wouldn't work and it wouldn't be nice because at that moment that's what she was looking forward to, seeing him in November when their trips usually took place so she could celebrate his birthday with him...and see him again.
Accepting the small kiss, she let his hands take hers and lead her closer to the train, trying to fight the tears that were slowly falling still. Nodding, she knew how right he really was, but that didn't mean she liked it any. And there was still time to debate not returning.
"I don't have to," she once more reminded him, her voice weak because she knew he was right.

The third year was not having much luck finding a compartment with some familiar face. To think that after two years of going through this already would have taught Claire to get to the train earlier. It wouldn't be much fun just standing there while the train took off to Hogwarts, that might become a bit painful. "Claire!" shouted a familiar voice from behind and the Slytherin could not be happier to hear it.
"Trixi!" she exclaimed seeing her friend coming toward her. Finally there was someone she knew here and since it was Trixi the ride was bound to be fun. "I'm so happy to see you! What have you been up to lately?"

"No, you're right. You don't have to," he answered softly, knowing that she always had a choice. Of course, with any decision, there were consequences both good and bad on both sides. They both knew it would be the better choice for her to get on the train and go, no matter how much they hated it. So in that sense, yeah. It was time to go so she had to get on the train.
When they got to the side of the train, he dropped one of her hands to gently wipe her cheeks with his finger. He offered her a small smile, hoping to get one back from her, hating the idea of leaving her when she looked so miserable, but knowing there wasn't much he could do about it.

Trixi grinned as her friend turned and seemed almost as happy to see her as she was to see Claire. Trixi didn't really make friends but Claire would have to be probably the first one she had ever really made. The two had decided to be mutual companions on their first night at Hogwarts when they had to team up against Nic to defend themselves. Since then the two had gotten along and caused chaos together. Trixi rather quite liked Claire and was unlikely to ever double-cross the girl like she would other people.
"I haven't been doing much. Brett worked for most of the holidays so I spent the time on the farm on my own" Trixi said casually. She never really did too much while at home. Aside from hasseling her younger siblings. "I put a snake in my brothers room!" Trixi said with an evil grin to Claire. "I found it in the barn. My step mum didn't think it was a good idea though! But that's her problem" Trixi had gotten into alot of trouble for releasing the snake in the house. But she was kind of used to being in trouble. "Wanna try to find a carrage?"

No, she didn't, but deep down she knew she couldn't disappoint anyone by not returning. And the biggest disappointment would be in herself for not finishing something she started. Half started projects always needed to be finished, otherwise who would admire them? And getting her N.E.W.T.s was a priority in her life, even if her dad didn't understand. It would be her beginning into what she wanted to do, and could possibly help her later in life as well, there was always a chance.
When Drew let go of her hand, she found it clutching at his shirt, not wanting him to leave her there, not wanting to leave him there. Why couldn't life be more fair? Let her be born a year earlier or him a year later, because she knew they'd be different if anything else was different and she really didn't want that. But it still wasn't fair to either of them.
Returning his smile with a very, very sad one, she closed her eyes, allowing his touch to linger longer than it did.

“Sure! That is, if you don’t mind cats!”
There was - during the brief moment that passed – a heavy feeling as though she had interrupted something but what exactly she didn’t know. She felt bad but at the same time unconcerned. She had rightfully been there first even if it was some time ago and since she really had no intention of being loud or bothersome, Lianna didn’t picture herself much of a problem. Thankfully she apparently wasn’t going to be and life could still go about its merry course.
The outright truth was that she (vaguely anyway) knew both of them even if they didn’t realize that fact or recognize who she happened to be. That didn’t really need to because it didn’t matter much to her, it never had before and didn’t now – even if Tapia and Raynor had pinned this shiny piece of pewter to her breast. Part of her [i[still[/i] wanted to kill them outright for it but another piece of her wanted to try and rise to the challenge because it forced her to be sociable. Besides, maybe this was actually the start of some better karma in her life…at the very least she could get out of this pessimistic streak.
“Yeah if you’re allergic or anything it’s not exactly a good situation for you. I’m Derrick Breckenridge by the way nice to meet you.”
Lianna smiled at the jest while taking a seat beneath her belongings now that both had given their approval. “Lianna, it’s nice to have a name to put to your face and you’re Maddy, right?” the Prefect replied questioningly. With Lianna being the wallflower she had been the past few years it even seemed odd to her that she would remember the girl’s name even though they never really associated much within the Common. The Houses were tightly knit yes, but remembering faces and vague associations was usually far easier than remembering the actual name that soul carried. She probably had Krissy to thank for somehow engraining various names into her head…
Krissy, her partial role-model. Gone too.
Merlin she really was the one many would be looking to this term. The sudden realization drove her to an unintended sense of silence, although it was incredibly short-lived. “I don’t think I’m allergic to cats...never owned one but since I’m not sneezing or anything I suppose I’m safe, which means you’re safe.” Lianna offered matter-of-factly, returning from her thoughts to real conversation. It was going to be an interesting year…for so many reasons.

The French in his blood didn't make French traditions anymore appetizing to the young man. Nodding, he wondered where the Gryffindor's slept and gathered. He knew it wasn't in the dungeons, was sure it was near the top of the castle, but where exactly eluded him. One final caress, one more kiss, Drew helped her up the steps to the train just as the engines really started to mean business. No, he didn't want her to go, and yes, she had the option of staying, but they both knew it was best if she went back to school... for both of them. She would finish her schooling and he could hopefully concentrate better on his first year of training.
The train made its first lurch forward and as it started to pull out of the station, Drew jogged beside it, shouting over the noise. "I'll write you as soon as I'm out of my meeting... and I'll start working on getting your first Hogsmeade weekend off so I can go up... and..."
The train was gathering speed and Drew knew he only had a few more seconds before she was gone. Grabbing onto whatever hold he could, he lept up onto the train and gave her one last kiss, pressing his lips against her firmly in the hopes that it would sustain him until he saw her again.
Another lurch and the train really started moving away from the platform. Drew jumped down with a wide grin on his face, shouting up at her again in the hopes that she could hear him over the noise. "I love you!"
