How long did it take for him to get there? Charlie still debated between two scenarios: Hiro on a random street, or Hiro in Ari's place. The latter wouldn't have worked at all with her, but if she had to wait five more minutes for him, she would just go up and enjoy some quick warmth before going off again. Oh, but her second destination would not be Chris's apartment. If she had to leave, she would try to find some place to pass the time. If she had to sneak out, she was determined to make the most of her time there.
A shiver passed through her body and she rocked on her soles and heels. Her black pants and grey turtleneck wasn't doing much justice obviously-- not even with the thick parka she has on, and now she had to pay for packing light. But when she had to break some rules, she had to do them in flexible attire. "Hiro, Hiro..." she mumbled under her breath.

(Just look down the sidewalk I'm right there ) The cold was getting to him. He had spent more time on avoiding curfew and aurors than he did on planning about the weather. No gloves, no hat, no scarf and all in the middle of winter. At the very least his travel plans worked...at least till the muggle part. The weather wasn't the only thing getting to him though; Charlie had said she'd come as his guest but that she'd meet him there. If she changed her mind Hiro didn't have a fall back. Drew was more than likely not going to show and other than Ari and Nic he didn't know who else would be there. As he was beginning to worry a voice was carried to him by the wind, a most comforting voice even if it did have a hint of annoyance in the tone for making her wait. It felt like a weight had been lifted and he could help but smile. "Practicing your summoning charms?" He asked as he got close to her.

(Maybe I was looking the other way ) Charlie hadn't expected him to be on the side that she wasn't surveilling. But when she heard him almost instantly after calling his name, she had to blame her obliviousness for not noticing him. "It worked?" She raised an eyebrow and just ran with it. She had a hint of an expectation of him popping up, but it didn't occur to her that he really would come up right then and there. "Where'd the hell ya come from? Spain?" So he didn't have her waiting all that much, but it was the weather that was making her crabby. She could feel her hands get cold despite them being stuck in her pockets. And her nose was practically an icicle. The only time she would ever come to like this weather was for winter sports.

(touche)
"Well you'll have to teach me that some time, I'm sure it would be quite useful." He said in response to her surprise. This was his first real interaction with anyone since break started and it took his mind off of how cold it was as he continued to respond.
"Hey cut me some slack I had to get past professors and aurors just to get here. I had to have a friend set up a floo pass for me and then I used the subway, which is like an underground train, in the muggle tunnels here. It was very crowded and not a pleasant trip in the least. And can you believe that the government makes them pay to use something like that? I would be up in arms about that if I had to use that thing everyday..." Hiro continued with his tale of how muggles did the most outlandish things not realizing that they were still standing in the cold.

Nic had finished the music and dropped a few beats. It was time to mingle and see the peeps which just happened to be Beni and Ben thus far. Nic let the music go on it's own as he put down the headsets and walked over to his girlfriend. He encircled his waist and gave Ben dap while smiling at Beni. "Wasssss sup."

"Yeah yeah yeah," Charlie rushed forward and took Hiro by the wrist to get into the studio through his public transportation ramble. She hadn't been on the subway herself, and she had never heard anything bad about it until then. Unless she saw it for herself, she would find it hard to believe that some underground car system would be all that bad. It just didn't figure for her that they were old enough to gain that sort of notoriety.
In all honesty, though, she wanted to get out of the whipping winds (if there any) and into a toasty abode. "You think they're okay with me bein' there?" she inquired about Nic and Ari. Meanwhile her senses perked to any sort of suspicious sound. Every once in a while she was sure someone could be watching them. Most likely MoM officials or her brother. One worry after another.

"Just as okay with me being here." He said with a smile and an encouraging squeeze on her hand. To be honest he wasn't sure how this night was going to turn out. Nic had more than likely told his side of the story to Ari, and Hiro told Nic about Amber. Hiro was confident that Nic wouldn't try anything that would ruin Ari's big night so really the only wild card was Ari. As long as things stayed pleasant with her the party should run smoothly...at least that was the theory.
"Don't worry everything will be fine." Hiro said out loud though it wasn't entirely clear to whom he was saying it. The knock on the door seemed to echo ominously.

Allright. So this was really, really weird for her. She didn't get invited to parties, it just didn't happen. It wasn't that she was uncool or anything, she just didn't get invited to them. She hadn't been all that social for the last five years so that could also be a huge reason for that. If she got invited, she usually turned it down with an apologetic smile. She didn't want to get stuck in a room full of drunken people, asking for her number and trying to feel her up. Or her getting stuck in the corner, feeling depressed because she didn't have anyone to hang out with. However, this was the year that was changing everything. She had fallen in love, she had made more friends, she had gotten closer to the ones she already had, she had met a Werewolf without killing herself, and she was coping with Landon's death. Es figured that was the reason she had never gotten over his death. Because for seven years she had been trying to get over his death but you can't just get over a loved one's death, you never really can, you have to learn to deal with it. And she was doing that, with the help of Brandon. She was especially nervous, knowing Brandon wouldn't be by her side this night. In fact, she had no idea who would be there. She knew there would be people she knew because Ari had invited her. And if worse came to worse, she could stick around Ari and Nic all night, even if they wanted to kill her. She also had no idea what to wear. What do you wear for a New Year's Party? She was going to wear a blue dress that came to her knees but decided she should probably go more casual. So Es settled on this lovely shirt and a pair of dark wash jeans with golden high heeled thingys that were suprisingly comfy. Her long black hair was curled and strewn around her shoulders. She threw on a coat to block out the harsh cold and headed out. Ari's place was considerably easier to find than she thought it was. When she went to the door, two people were already outside, waiting to be accepted inside. It was Charlie and Hiro, was it? Hiro was Charlie's boyfriend or something and she didn't know him all that well. But that didn't stop her from greeting him. "Hey Charlie, hey Hiro." She called out with a smile when she got within a few feet of them. She hoped this party would go well and that they couldn't hear her pounding heart.

"Okay," Charlie had replied to Hiro's assurance, though just a thin covering of skepticism wrapped around her one word reply. She was just holding on to the hope that Ari and Nic weren't going to hold a grudge. It wasn't what Charlie wanted, especially since she hadn't actually done anything. If the situation had been different and she really had been at fault... then she could see their reason.
Slowly she grew conscious of the fact that her hand and Hiro's were still together. It was a mild discomfort, not because she didn't like him (quite the opposite), but because... well... she wasn't used to even the most subtle form of a public display of affection. It was odd to her, but she didn't reflexively let go until she heard a voice well behind them. She didn't see the reason in her flinching backward like that, but she tried to play it off by pretending that her hand was going straight to scratching her head. "Oh, hey, Es. How's it going? You got the finishing touches on that portrait done?" She laughed nervously, and wished she could just stop.

The longer Hiro stood there the more he thought that this might have been some kind of prank that Nic and Ari had thought up. Some kind of personal vengeance for what had happened perhaps. Did they know him that well that they were sure to get both of them in the same prank? It was possible, Ari probably knew that he was staying at Hogwarts and hardly anyone else was. Hiro was about to speak his mind to Charlie when she pulled her hand away and a voice reached his ears. At least now he knew it wasn't a vendetta.
Es? Do I know anyone by that name? It's probably short for something... Hiro's stomach churned as his brain tried to put a name with the voice. Fortunately there was an opportunity to change the subject.
"Hello, oh a portrait? Are you a drawer or a painter?" Hiro pushed the subject though not out of embarrassment for holding hands.

Ari was busy talking so Nic opened the door to hear the end of Hiro's words and to see Charlie. Nic blinked a bit not realizing that Ari had invited them to the party. Nonetheless Nic whistled one of those guy whistles. "Yo, Essy you lookin good ma. Almost as hot as mae. What up, come in all of ya." So Nic had kinda greeted Charlie and Hiro. He wasn't mad he understood Charlie was possessed, but he still kinda blamed them both for his broken relationship. "Yo, ma, more peeps hea." Nic called to Ari.
Nic took a step back and litereally grabbed Essy giving her a hug. Nic had started to consider Essy like a sister ever since she saved his life 3 times...including the time she had almost killed him. "Where's B?" Nic asked Essy rememberin something about the girl likin him, but not wanting to admit it.

Matty didn't quite know what to expect. She knew Ari and Nic, sure, but it wasn't as if they were really good friends, or anything. The Fourth Year had met Nic, once, and he seemed pretty cool. Ari, the girl had met a few different events, like parties with with Krissy and such. It was quite the surprise that Matty had been invited to this party, but none the less, it didn't mean she was going to blow off an invitation, after all, it seemed fun. That and the girl had nothing better to do. So, it was a matter of convincing her father to let his 14-year-old daughter attend a party of people whom he didn't know, which would most likely be a late party at that. But, it was done, and now, the Huffle was to be dropped off at the destination. Matty hadn't been able to find a guest, however, which was unfortunate, but not the end of the world.
Finally arriving at the studio, Matty's father dropped her off, and the girl made her way to the exact address. Tonight, Matty was dressed up somewhat, but not too much. The top of the red dress was sort of like a tank top, connected to a free-falling dress that came to her knee's. There was a thick, a middle sized, and a thin set of white stripes at the bottom, with an abstract design further up the dress. On the top, there were two lines of vertical buttons, and the same abstract design. Matty also had a moderately warm, red cardigan on top of her dress. It had three repeated symbols on the left hand side, and was dotted with buttons on the inner cuts. Placed onto her feet, were also a pair of red slip-on shoes, simple and cute. Her hair was straightened, as usual.
The girl looked appropriate for her age group, that young teenager stage. Making her way up, there seemed to be a group of people gathered at the door, Nic visible form inside. "Hey guys." the young girl said with a smile, faintly recognizing an older looking girl with black hair form somewhere. Matty didn't really know what was happening inside, but it seemed as if things were starting to get rolling, or so to speak.

Es knew from the fact that Hiro didn't greet her with her name that he probably had no idea who she was. That was okay with her, it wasn't like they'd ever officially met or anything, but she felt foolish for greeting him like they were great friends or something. She tried not to focus on that though and instead, on his and Charlie's question. Es nodded her head in response to both of them, looking first to Charlie and then to Hiro as she answered.
"Yeah, it's done.. Unfortunately I didn't expect to need to bring it here tonight, I suppose you'll have to see it some other time."
She paused, now answering Hiro's question.
"Uhm, yeah, more of a drawer though, I don't really have the time for painting so much anymore.."
Flashes of her painting a flower and giving it to Landon. Landon grinning at her and picking her up, throwing her in the air with an encouraging "I love it, thank you." He nuzzled her and put her down. Es came back to reality as she heard a whistle and then Nic's voice. Oh. He was whistling at her. That was definitely not something she was used to. She grinned at him and let out a soft "Thanks." Not knowing whether anyone heard it or not. She smoother out her shirt and tucked her hair behind her ear, a habit she had had since she was tiny.
Es stepped through Charlie and Hiro, not sure if they were going inside or not. There seemed to be a tension between them and Nic that she didn't want to get involved in. Suddenly, Nic grabbed her into a tight hug. She hugged him back with a grin. There was a love there she couldn't describe, not like the love between him and Ari, and not exactly brotherly, but she liked it, whatever it was. She pulled back, a frown flickering across her face before she smiled again.
"He couldn't make it.."
She replied sadly. And how she wished he could've.

Arianna turned to see their newest guests and smiled. Four new arrivals. The party was starting to pick up a bit and it definitely looked as though she wouldn't have to worry about no one showing up. She was happiest, however, over the fact that Hiro and Charlie had shown up and greeted both heartily as she ushered them inside, eager to make them feel welcome. Unlike Nic, Arianna had no hard feelings about the fight. She wasn't fully aware of the whole story; only Nic's side, but she understood that the punch in the face she had gotten from Hiro was purely accidental. If anything, it had been her fault. If she hadn't jumped into the fight...but even at that, Arianna felt no regret nor blame. She only hoped the others could do the same.
"I'm so glad you guys could come!" she exclaimed over the small crowd now gathered inside her studio apartment. Ben, Beni...Es...Matty...Hiro, and Charlie....It was a good turn out already.

The invitation to the new years party came as rather a surprise to Krissy. Apart from the quidditch game the two hadn't had contact in a very long time. It was led on from what Krissy had done to Ari and Ari's suspicions that Krissy was actually working for the deva. Which as much as Krissy would deny, she could never really prove. She couldn't stop her mind originally thinking that the invitation might be a trap, however after conversing with Seanna ad discovering her friend had also recieved an invite Krissy decided the thing was for real. However that also meant she had to invite a friend, and it was already proven that her best friend was already going. Had it been the previous year Krissy would have ran straight to the silver haired boy which she used to call her's, however given their current situation and circumstances there was absolutely no way in the world that she would be inviting him. This left Krissy in a conundrum on who to bring. However it had only taken a little while for her to realise the presence that had been around alot recently with her and whom she had only newly become really good friends with. So Krissy had sent an owl off to Alexander inviting him to come to the new years party with her. He was the absolutely best option in Krissy's opnion and she was thrilled when she got a reply accepting the invite.
So Krissy had agree'd to meet Alexander outside of the Marlow Studio's. So there the dark haired girl stood wearing a tight pair of blue hipster jeans, a small yellow sleeveless top, a black jacket and a pair of long, black, fingerless gloves that stretched half way up to her elbox. The reasoning for the loves was none other then to hide the white bandage that was tightly wrapped around her left wrist, a reminent from the aforementioned Quidditch game. She looked rather different to how she normally did. With her black hair being slightly wavy because she had only washed it a little while before the party and had allowed it to dry like that. Her hair naturally went wavvy when it got wet. Krissy leaned against the wall of the building, she was a little bit early but had wanted to try and make sure she was on time to meet Alexander.
