"That's exactly what I was just thinking about you," Nathan replied softly, a light grin playing on his lips, "I've never just...come out and told anyone about my...my wife like that. I just feel comfortable with you." He felt his cheeks flush again and he tried to look away from her. He noticed how she leaned forward, and he instinctively followed suit. Then he realized how dangerously close to each other they were.
Once again, Cooper was the one to shatter the moment. He came trotting across the pub once more, wiping his face with the sleeve of his new robes that Nathan would have to wash now. The man rolled his eyes and leaned back as Cooper crawled under the table again to join them and the waiter showed up just behind him. Nathan automatically reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He placed the money on the table which the waiter picked up with a nod. "Keep the change," he told the waiter and he left the table once more, "Don't worry about it." The second part was directed at Brittany who he was sure was about to protest.

Brittany only noticed that he had leaned towards her after it was all over. What had she been thinking, leaning in like that? Inwardly, she scolded her self for acting so forward. At the same moment, she remembered that she had to breathe. Blinking a couple of times, she made her body move from it's seemingly paralyzed state. She smiled brightly as Cooper returned to them with an accomplished look on his face. He seemed very proud that he had went to the bathroom and washed off all by him self.
She was glad that he had agreed with the way she felt. It reassured her that she wasn't making a complete fool out of her self. Brittany had raised her hand in definace and began to open her mouth as the waiter approached the table with the bill. "But..." was all that she managed to get out before Nathan had quieted her.
"Thank you for lunch and dessert then," Brittany thanked him defeatedly.
She knew that it was her que to go. Gathering up her purse, she stood and faced her two new friends. Extending a hand out towards Cooper first she told him, "It was very nice to meet you Cooper. I hope that you enjoyed the ice cream." Smiling as the little boy shook her hand enthusiastically, she then turned to Nathan.
Kindly, she extended her hand towards him and said, "It was nice to meet you Nathan."

Nathan stood up quickly, taking her hand in his and shaking it. He lingered a little longer than he probably should have, but was reluctant to let go. He watched her for a moment until he spoke again. "It was great meeting you too," he told her truthfully, smiling at her again. When he finally let go of her hand, Nathan started to gather up all his bags again and fit each on onto his hand before he made his way out of the booth.
"You know...we don't really have anything else planned and we were going to head back to the castle," he started to suggest, looking down shyly, "If you wanted to come with us...you could." I really don't wanna leave you just yet, he added in his head, but refrained from saying it out loud.

Brittany was glad to have an excuse to hold Nathan's hand. Even if it wasn't exactly meant to be thought of that way. As Nathan began gathering up all of his bags, she wondered whether she should start walking away. About to take a step towards the door, Nathan turned back to her and asked her to come with them. Once again she found her self refraining from shouting a yes towards him. As she refrained, the memory of her original intentions for the day came back.
For a moment she thought about simply blowing them off. It wasn't as if those things needed to be accomplished today or everything would perish. However, she knew that it would probably be a while before she was motivated enough to run errands again. Plus, it was hard to find a time to leave the library unattended all day.
"Actually I have to get some things done since I'm in town," Brittany desperately wished that she could stay longer with the two of them.
They were both so nice and fun. However, she was reasonable and had to think about things other than her self every once in a while. The hope that she would see Nathan again soon kept her from changing her mind.
