"I tried to surf once. It didn't work out too well." Aleeza said thoughtfully, tilting her head to the side. "I was six. And I tried surfing in my bathtub. And then I fell and broke my arm. It was a good time." She smiled, looking up at Drew.
She hadn't expected him to throw an M&M at her and she certainly hadn't expected it to hit her in the forehead. Silence filled the room for a second as she looked up at Drew. She didn't know if she was angry or not and and she didn't know if she wanted to laugh.
"You need some practice." She said, sitting up and crossing her legs. "Let's see whatcha got." She smirked before opening her mouth.

Drew had to laugh, thinking this was a girl after his own heart. He hadn't actually ever tried to surf in the bathtub, but he had tried to do it in the pool. That hadn't worked out very well either, but at least he hadn't gone to the hospital that time.
"I broke my arm trying to skateboard off my roof when I was eight," Drew told her, thinking that was kind of close. It was doing something where you shouldn't have been doing it and ending up with a broken arm at least.
The M&M hit her on the forehead and he winced. When she asked about his aim, he had been sure she meant to her and he was surprised she hadn't tried to catch it. "Sorry, I thought you were ready," he told her before laughing and trying to get another one into her open mouth.

Skateboarding was always something that she wanted to do, but her parents wouldn't allow it. She was accident prone from birth and so of course her parents would keep her away from just about anything that could possibly hurt her.
"Off the roof? See, I always wanted a pool so I could do cannon balls off the top, but my parents were really protective of me. There's a lot of time difference between me and my older sister, so they wanted to keep me as safe as they could." Aleeza explained with a slight smile.
Watching the M&M move from Drew's hand into the air she shifted to the left slightly and caught the candy proudly. Chewing, she gave Drew a thumb's up and smiled. "Much better." She teased, resting a hand on her knee.

Drew wasn't sure if it was because he was the younger of two, or he was just born more adventerous, but his parents had come to the conclusion early on that there wasn't much they could do to tame their son, short of dressing him in bubble wrap, removing all of the furniture in his room, and locking him in.
"You have to be careful trying to do a cannon ball off of the roof though," he pointed out, taking aim with another M&M. "First, you have to take into account your own trajectory or else you'll end up on pavement. Plus, if the roof is too high, your plunge goes too deep and you end up breaking your neck on the bottom of the pool. That's not pretty at all."

Aleeza laughed lightly as she caught the next M&M, rolling it in her mouth before chewing it. She knew that what Drew was saying was true, but she never really gave it much thought when she was young.
"Well see, I know all that now. But when I was eight and nine all I could think was...'jumping off a roof into water? mega fun!' My parents didn't see it that way though. Which is for the best, I guess because I probably would have really hurt myself. I'm just lucky I haven't don't anything to dangerous here." Aleeza babbled. Holding her hand out she looked from the bag of M&M's to Drew and then back again.
"Do you think you can catch?"

Drew answered with an embarassed smile, thiniing of a number of dangerous things he had tried while at Hogwarts. Well, actually, he hadn't considered any of them dangerous. It was usually the professor who caught him that deemed them dangerous.
Aleeza eyed the bag of candy and Drew raised an eyebrow at her question. "You think you can aim?" he responded with a smirk as he handed over the bag.

Aleeza smirked and leaned forward, taking the bag from Drew and pouring some M&Ms into her hand. Centering herself perfectly across from the brunette boy and squinted her eyes in concentration. Pausing for a second she tossed one of the M&M's like a basketball, fading back slightly as though she was on the court playing ball.
"Score!" She cheered, throwing both hands up in the air as the candy fell directly into Drew's mouth. With a smug smile Aleeza popped a few M&M's in her mouth and handed the bag back to Drew. "I used to play ball with the boys. I got aim." She joked lightly, smiling up at Drew.

When she made the throw, Drew leaned in a bit to catch the candy, raising his arms as he made the catch in celebration of his own part in the victory.
"Aim, huh?" he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. A number of girls claimed to be able to play roundball, but he still hadn't found many who could keep up with him and Nic.
Then again, she could have been talking abotu something other than basketball...
"You should try out for the quidditch team," he told her, thinking they could always use a good chaser on the pitch.

Aleeza tilted her head to the side and thought about it. "I've never actually been on a broom. I grew up in the muggle world even though my parents were both a witch and a wizard. I'm a bit nervous, which probably sounds strange coming from me. But there's something about being that high in the air and having the control. Kinda scary."
Aleeza hadn't admitted that to anyone yet and she felt a bit strange telling that to Drew. "But if someone were to show me how to do it I might give it a try." Aleeza smiled, looking over at the fire. "It's almost out." She whispered, looking up at Drew.

Drew pulled his wand and started up the fire again, even though he was pretty sure the elves would have come around and done it a bit later on.
He always felt that he had gotten the best of both the Wizarding and the Muggle worlds, but he kind of understood what she was saying. If she hadn't grown up on a broom like he had, it might be a little scary.
"Flying's easy," Drew told her with a crooked smile. "It's like riding a bike, really... only a heck of a whole lot higher."

Drew's smile gave her a little bit of reassurance, though she still wasn't sure if she dared tried flying. She remembered the first time she'd attempted it and it would have been a vast understatement to say that she hadn't been the best at it.
"Oh fire, how you keep me warm." She smiled, leaning forward and holding her hands out. "Is the castle always this drafty in the winter?" She asked, tilting her head back to look up at Drew. The cold didn't bother her. You could always bundle up if you needed to, but there were times when she just wanted it to be warm. It would be easier getting around the outside of school without the problem of snow.
"And flying might be fun. I have a broom and everything, I've just never used it." She said with a shrug, handing Drew the M&M's.

"You have a broom and you don't even use it?" Drew asked finding it odd, but actually not as unusual as one might think. He knew another Ravenclaw who owned a broom but didn't know how to fly.
He took back the M&Ms and placed them on a nearby table, figuring Aleeza could still reach them if she wanted more.
"I guess you get used to the drafts," Drew answered her, not sure he even felt them any more. He was still cold half the time he was at school, but that just required more bundling up on his part.

"It was a gift from my sister. She can fly like nothing I've ever seen before, so when she sent me here she gave me one of her old favorites. I just haven't had the chance to take 'er out and see how she works." Aleeza replied, strecthing slightly where she sat.
"Are you on the Quidditch team?" She probably should have known the answer to that question, but she didn't. And it was always easier to simply ask then to guess and be wrong.

"I gave my younger cousin one of my old brooms too, since firsties aren't allowed them," Drew mentioned. "He's not a big flyer either, but I figured just in case he decided, y'know?"
"Yeah, since I started here pretty much," Drew answered. He was a good player, but it had probably helped that his sister had been team captian at the time. First years hardly ever get to have a lot of air time. "I'm a decent chaser, but I prefer Beater. Hiro and I... he's the other prefect... we got it down pretty well."

"I've yet to see a game." Aleeza said honestly. "But I've heard that Ravenclaw is usually pretty good. Maybe I'll swing by the next game. Take a look and see how everything happens before I think about trying out next term. From what I've heard it's pretty dangerous."
Aleeza pulled a hair tie off of her wrist and used it to pull her hair back out of her face. She loved her hair, but sometimes it got to be too much. Leaning her head over onto her shoulder Aleeza smiled. "So what do you want to do when you graduate here and get out into the big, bad world?"
