"FIRE!" Krissy's words rang through the hufflepuff common room as she and Jynx lept through the portrait hole. "THE GREEN HOUSES ARE BURNING!" Krissy yelled, her mind half filled with excitement and the other half filled with fear. She didn't sleep anyway these days which is why she had been wandering the halls of one of the higher floors. She had seen the flames herself. The smoke issueing up. The fire was everywhere. Her thoughts had returned to the ones of the other fire at Hogwarts, long ago. Not many would still remember it, but she did.
The house elves had accouseted her in the hallways and told her she must return to her common room. She had ignored them, taking off at a run to see the fire from a better view, she knocked one down as she went. She reached another window and managed to hold them off (they were tugging at her robes) for long enough to see the dark mark arise from the smoke surrounding the green houses. As she ran away from there headed back for the common room her and Jynx had collided head on, both having fallen over. After rushed and hurried words about what they had seen they had continued to run to the common room.
The common room seemed to have gone quiet shocked at her's and Jynx's sudden appearance through the portrait hole, or maybe they had been quiet because Fiona's voice ad announced that everyone go to their common rooms. She didn't mean to panic anyone but she thought they needed to know. That was also the reason she didn't mention the green mark hovering above the greenhouses. They would find out, but not tonight. Her eyes looked to Jynx. Did they believe her?

Abigail was sitting on the edge of the couch in the common room, her skin tingling with the high sense of alertness which had taken over her body and her two front teeth digging into her bottom lip. Where was Lianna? Where was Krissy? Where was Pat? What was going on? Fortunately Abby had only been in her dorm when the headmistress's voice rang throughout the castle, commanding everyone to report to his common room. The second year rushed down the stairs and into a slightly-crowded room, immediately finding refuge on the couch and waiting for the red-head's voice to soothe her.
"Krissy, what's going on?!" Abby's voice was brimming with fear as she jumped off the couch when Krissy appeared and briefly exclaimed what had happened in one quick statement. The small girl took hold of her "big sister's" shirt and looked up at her with searching amber eyes, just like she had during the last lockdown. Krissy had protected her then, and Abigail knew she would this time too.

Where was Pat indeed? The last few nights, he had been totally restless, staying up until all hours of the morning, unable to drift off to sleep. He was uneasy... like a tidal wave was coming... but nothing seemed out of the ordinary, besides the graffiti from the past weeks. He'd tried to brush it off his shoulder, but he had the feeling something big was going to happen, and not in a good way.
Tonight, though, he had managed to fall to sleep, albeit an uneasy one. He remained in his own little dreamland, completely oblivious to the real world... that is, until he heard a loud voice issuing throughout the room, and indeed, throughout the entirety of Huffle House. "Students, return to your Houses as quickly as possible and do not come out for any reason. Heads, go your respective common rooms and make sure no one is missing. The rest of the staff, meet down at the green houses right away." Pat snapped up, nearly cricking his neck as he did so. "Oh crap..." he muttered. There hadn't been a lockdown since last year... since Thorne's murder. But Pat knew one thing - he was a prefect, and he needed to get into the common room.
Hopping to the floor, and stopping only long enough to grab his wand from the bedside table, Pat dashed down the steps to the dorms in his bare feet, still clothed in his pajamas. Taking the stairs several at a time, he quickly arrived at their foot, just in time to hear Krissy cry "FIRE! THE GREEN HOUSES ARE BURNING!" Pat, upon hearing this, was actually temporarily relieved. It wasn't a murder... and this late, there was practically no chance of anyone being inside the greenhouses. Still... something didn't feel right... but Pat shrugged it off, just like he had for the last few nights, and ran over toward Krissy, who was flanked by Jynx and Abby. "What she said," he spat out anxiously. "What's happened?" This was just great... there was a lockdown going on, and he, as prefect, barely knew a thing. This was going to be a long night...

At the current time of The Headmistresses voice booming through the castle, Matty had been up in her dorm, lying her her nice comfy bed, drawing a picture of Spunky who was lying on her bed. However, once the Professors voice had awoke him, Matty had managed to sketch a massive line through his body. Not too pleasing, however realizing the serious meaning of the message, the Huffle girl grabbed her wand at once, just for safety reasons, and headed down to the common room, closing the door behind her. Jumping down the stairs two at a time, the girl rushed to the group, and stood next to Pat.
Catching just what both the others had just said, Matty paused for a second before taking a quick glance at Jynx, a worried look firm in place on her face. "Is anyone hurt?" she added, since neither of them had yet asked that. She couldn't help but feel like something wasn't right. It wasn't that late in the night, so the people who had lit the fire could've been seen, right? But still it was a lock down so things weren't going good.

Jynx hurled through the portal hole with Krissy, but let her do all of the shouting considering if he did it it would just get confusing. Trying to hear two people at once would have been really hard to understand. Once Krissy had finished he let her answer the questions of their fellow Huffles until he could keep quite no more.
"The green houses are on fire and there has been a ...." Jynx started saying, but then broke off wondering if he should actually tell them about the Dark Mark or not. It wouldn't have really done any good to bring it up so he decided to keep it under wraps for now. Not wanting to scare the younger Huffle anymore then she already was. Seeing Matty he smiled and then answered her question as best he could, "Not that we know of, but from the window I was looking out there really was no way to make anything out except the flames of the fire."

The announcement had told her nothing, well, nothing she could rightly figure out from the stall of Huffle's bathroom anyway. Still the word 'lockdown' had struck quickly paniced state of being. As the small girl pushed open the door in time to hear the word 'FIRE!', her head turned quickly to where Krissy was and longed to ask question after question, but knew that no answers could be given. The students were never told anything...
And so the small second year crossed the room quietly and sat down at the base of the steps to the girl's dorms. She was far from calm, no matter how quiet she was. In reality, the fact that she was quiet in a state of panic probably spoke for itself as to just how the announcement of a lockdown affected her. Lockdown meant isolation with friends, but that didn't mean she enjoyed the circumstances in the slightest.
The second year's green eyes scanned the small group of Huffles present, silently capturing expressions while her ears captured nothing. Perhaps, the less she focused on the lockdown, the sooner they'd be let out?

Alexis had no idea what was going on. There she was sleeping peacefully in her own bed, when a familiar voice rang through the house: "Students, return to your Houses as quickly as possible and do not come out for any reason. Heads, go your respective common rooms and make sure no one is missing. The rest of the staff, meet down at the green houses right away."
"What!" Alexis exclaimed jumping out of bed. Looks like the other annoucement about a lock down was because of this, which meant Alexis had to get downstairs. Grabbing her bathrobe, and wand Alexis put it on as she ran downstairs with her wand in another hand.
Alright, lockdown that meant prefects had to take attendance of everyone in the common room. "Fire? What fire?" she asked when she heard Krissy scream. Going over to Pat she asked, "I think we need to take attendance of everyone here right?"

Krissy bent down and gave Abi a big hug. "Don't worry its okay, its just a fire" she said to Abi with a smile. Abi was like her little sister and Krissy looked after her as one. She had been worried for a moment when Jynx almost stated that the dark mark was present but was greatly relieved when he stopped himself.
Krissy stood back up scanning the hufflepuff common room. Everyone was seeming to have gathered there. There seemed to be a few missing faces but they were probably in the dorms or still on their way to then common room. Her eyes focussed in on Lianna who was sitting at the bottum of the staircase to the girls dorm. She wrapped an arm around Abi and led her over to the staircase with Lianna. She decided seeing as she knew at least some of what was going on she should tell everyone.
"Hey listen up" Krissy said loudly enough to make everyone turn and listen to her. "The green houses are on fire, the smoke is thick there were flaming pretty badly when I saw them but its late, so I don't know why anyone would be in the greenhouses at this hour..." Krissy paused for a moment. She wanted to say that no-one was hurt. But she didn't know. The dark mark... didn't that mean someone had died? It was a scary prospect but it didn't seem right to not tell them... Krissy sighed.
"The dark mark.. its been cast above the green houses..." Krissy said defeatedly. Why did she have to believe everyone needed to know. They would find out eventually. She knew this information would just scare someone else. "But like I said" Krissy said "Its after hours I doubt anyone would have been in the greenhouses at this hour And they are normally locked anyway" she hoped everyone would be okay. she looked over to Jynx and to Pat. Jynx because he had seen it too and Pat because he was a prefect, and her boyfriend and would probably want to know some more... and mroe than likely why she wasn't in the common room anyway..

The commotion, the panic, the unknowing of what was exaxctely happened. The castle was filled with this kind of air and with the headmistresses announcement echoing around the school Marvin moved to his post. Entering into the hufflepuff common room just in time to hear Krissy explaining the situation to the group that was scattered around the common room. His expression held one of seriousness as he spoke up. "What the young miss there says is infact, and most unfortunately true" Marvin said looking around at his charges.
"But there is no such reason to worry" Marvin said looking around at the students. "What we need to do is stay here while the headmistress sorts things out and I need to make sure that everyone is here, so I shall need to check that you are all here and then send some people up to the dorms for me, everyone is required to stay here while this lock down is in place. If anyone has any questions I am willing to answer anything I can and if anyone is worried you can speak to me or my prefects" Marvin glanced around at the room, contemplating just how many students hadn't yet showed up. He could already tell there were quite a few not accounted for that would need to be located.

Pat had been silently ticking off names in his head... matching faces to a mental checklist, to see who was already here, who had just arrived, who was still unaccounted for. There was little more that Pat, personally, could do. He knew only as much as everyone else, and Krissy was already giving out both comfort and information to everyone. "Yeah..." he said, nodding in response to Alexis's question of if they should take attendance.
"You, me, Krissy, Abby, Matty, Jynx..." he began listing under his breath, but he broke off when he heard Krissy mention the Dark Mark; he had no other choice, his breath had practically caught in his throat. He gave Krissy a serious look, almost asking, practically begging her to say otherwise, but he knew such a response wouldn't happen, espeically when Professor Atwood showed up and confirmed it. The Dark Mark... Pat had been hoping that the graffiti from the entrance hall incident would be the most that they would see of the Mark. But apparently, fate had other things in mind...

Krissy's eyes had focussed upon the head of house whilst he spoke, although she disliked him now was definately not the time to cause any trouble with him, specially when they were could be locked in the huffle common room for a while... the annoyances would come then. Now tonight. Not now. Krissy had seen Pats look to her and though the thought of the dark mark scared her and made her just want to hug him and just hide away and hope everything would be alright. She wouldn't do it, never because she knew that it was her duty to be strong. What she thought and felt always came after what everyone else did and it wouldn't have mattered if she was terrified she would still put on a trong face for the others.
She mvoed her attention away though, from both Marvin and Pat and turned it once more upon the young huffle near her sitting on the steps to the girls dorms. "You okay Li?" Krissy asked her young huffle friend as she knelt down near her.

Abby listened in stoney silence as she let go of her hold on Krissy and sat down next to Lianna, her shoulder touching her best friend's for reassurance. It was almost as if she were in a dream; everything was just so unreal and moving so slowly. Atwood's presence calmed her nerves somewhat, just to have an adult around (even if she didn't like him all that much), and Krissy's confidence also helped, but fear and worry was still swirling inside her. Why were so many bad things happening at Hogwarts? Abigail just stared straight ahead, trying to block out the mounting chaos and clear the fog that was encircling her mind.

Was she alright? Well, it was certainly a valid question to ask of everyone, but considering her demeanor during the last lockdown, as well as her current one now, it was probably much more applicable to her now. As Krissy and Abby joined her, Lianna could only force a half smile onto her face. It wasn't that she didn't want the company, in fact she welcomed it, it was just that she'd wanted the year to go right. Aside from losing Professor Shaw, not alot had happened this year of a significant standpoint, it seemed perfect. And then, this, it was just a big blow.
"I'm...alright, I guess...I don't know." Lianna replied honestly, her green eyes flicking to the common room entrance. Mark wasn't there, everyone else she knew was present except for him and while the two hadn't talked much recently, he was still her friend. Rather, Lianna considered him one and that was enough for her.
It wasn't even late yet, and she felt like she was in a nightmare. Everything was great and then suddenly there was a lockdown and a fire OUTSIDE...and, something about the Dark Mark, and it was that part that scared her the most. Her father had told her of it's significance, and she'd briefly read about it once in the library but, to know it was actually cast was simply unfathomable. It could've meant alot of things, but the one thing it did mean, was something evil existed. Something or someone had been or perhaps still currently remained at Hogwarts, and it was that thought that was keeping her from feeling anywhere close to alright.

Running her fingers wearily through her hair, Matty nodded to Jynx as he explained what they had seen. Then Krissy and both the Head of House told them of the Dark Mark being casts into the sky above the flaming Greenhouse. This was terrible, ever since she was introduced into the magical world, Matty had never seen the Dark Mark in real life, or ever been near it for that matter. Sure, she had seen it in old clippings of the paper and such, though never really felt the pure evil of such a thing. But that also couldn't possibly mean... The Dark Lord was back? He couldn't be, he was gone, forever, well thats what she had been comforted by all of these years.
Looking around at Pat now, she noticed him ticking off names of who was here. Taking a quick glance around at anyone she knew, but realized wasn't there, she noted on a few people but eventually ruled them out to be coming on their way. Taking a few steps over to Jynx now that Krissy had moved away with Abigail and another girl she didn't know well of. Standing next to Jynx, she glanced into his blue eyes with her green eyes filled with fear. What was to come of tonight. The Dark Mark was not a prank, and she knew that from how serious this whole event was. Tucking her wand into her jeans pocket, Matty walked to the side of Jynx and wrapped her hand around his own.
People had to stay calm and together at times like this. "You think we'll be alright?" she questioned Jynx looking absent minded at the Fire Place.

Jynx listened as Krissy explained what she had saw. He knew she was telling the truth because he had seen it as well, so it didn't come to as all that big of a surprise like it might have for the other Huffles. Although he was just as rattled by the situation as they were. He had heard what the Dark Mark had been used for in the past and really hoped that this wasn't the case tonight. He looked up as the Head of House came in and gave a slight nod showing that he understood they were stuck in the common room for now. This wasn't a problem for him considering the only place he would want to be with this news running about was with Matty making sure that she was alright.
Seeing her walk over to him smiled he tried to put on a brave face for her. Because he could see the fear in her eyes when she looked up at him and that made him feel unsettled a bit. He knew the severity of the situation, but didn't know exactly what to say to make it better. All he could do was assure her that everything was fine. Taking her hand in his as she wrapped it around his he said in a reassuring voice, "I'm sure we'll be alright. Whatever happened has already happened and the safest place for us to be is right here at the moment, so yes we will be fine."
