Abigail grinned. "Li-Li, there's no point in arguing it. I know already; it's so obvious." The truth was, it wasn't obvious. But Abby knew Lianna well enough to know when something was up. "You should ask him! It'll be fun. We can all hang out together." She could see the trapt look in her friend's eyes, but she continued to push anyway. This was a major breakthrough!

Well, she was done for. Might as well get the agonizing torture of admittance overwith, as Lianna wasn't all too sure how much longer she could drag it out without tripping up more than she already was. The girl finally sighed in defeat and leaned against the arm rest of the couch. "Fine...I do alright? You've only been pestering me about it for a good week...." The Huffle claimed with a slight frown.
She could somewhat predict what Abi's reply would be toa full come-clean admittance, but Lianna knew she couldnt' hide it from her for the next however long either. Regardless of Abi's pestering about it the girl was her best friend after all. This was something she was supposed to tell her...even if she was embarrassed to do so.

Her grin spread from ear to ear. It was hard enough surpressing the 'Awwwww" which she so desperately wanted to coo. "So, have you talked to him at all?" Abby knew how much this was embarrassing the Hufflepuff, but it was something best friends talked about. Besides, she could only help her friend, right? "Is he going to the Ball? Do you know?" Yes, question after question would be asked until Abigail had all the answers she needed, er, wanted.

Didn't Lianna tell her not to look at her like that? It was grins like those that made her wish she'd either turned invisible or found a way to keep her mouth shut. "Sorta...I don't really know him but..." Her voice trailed off as Abi continued. Ask. Him. Ball. There were those three words again, only they involved her which meant....curse her lack of sleep. Yes, while she'd admitted it awake, she didn't realize she talked in her sleep. Crud.
"The ball? No...nonononono nooo! I can't do that, I just told you I don't even really know him!" The badger whined in protest as he eyes sought out something other than the grin-ish look on Abi's face. That grin meant she was asking if it didn't kill her first...and sadly, Lianna knew it.

She couldn't help but grin. Despite the fact that it annoyed Lianna to no end. "So?" she shrugged. "You can get to know him at the Ball! It's the perfect opportunity!" Abby was looking forward to the dance and in her opinion, the more the merrier. "C'mon, you know you want to." She nudged the second year with a somewhat sly smirk, mostly due to the fact that she knew Lianna didn't want to.

"But...its...I..." Her thoughts were suddenly jumbled and incomplete. She couldn't exactly ask him about himself when it was supposed to be some fun occasion. Even though the previous one hadn't been much fun. "I can't just ask him about himself at the ball...thats...well...seems pathetic..." Her last two words trailing off before she found a small chance at possible comeback to save her skin.
"Why don't you go with him? You know him better than I do, at least you've talked to him!" Her voice was close to a plead, as she really wanted to avoid both asking him and trying to find courage to do so. She'd spend weeks doing it and she didn't have weeks!

"Me?!" she repeated incredulously. "I don't think so! You're the one who likes him! Besides, I've only talked to him once. You've talked to him just as much as I have, in the Great Hall. You know, the day of the quidditch match." Lianna must've remembered what she was talking about. It had all been a part of Abby's evil but brilliant plan. She and Ash had left the Hall under the second year's suggestion, thus leaving Lianna and Ty alone to 'chat'.
"So, when're you going to ask him?" she asked excitedly, already assuming the girl was going to ask him.

"Yes you!" Lianna shot back just as quick, her eyes darting to the rest of the room quickly for a moment. Her voice had just topped the decible minimum, anyone in the House could've hear her...the last thing she wanted as a third party overhearing this. "So? I..." She what? She had nothing. She supposed it could be worse, at least Ty wasn't like that first year she'd unintentionally came across in the Dungeons. Loopy.
At her second quesstion anything she might've been thinking about saying stopped, her mouth opened to speak but nothing came out. "I...umm...I...." She hadn't been expecting the question at all, she'd thought about it yes, but that didn't mean she actually...she could always go alone...right?

"You've been thinking about it, heh?" she asked, more pointed out, after Lianna's hesitant 'I..um..I' response. "We have a bunch of classes with him; you should catch him before or after class and ask. I'm sure he'd love to go with you! Li-Li, you're very pretty you know. And smart, and nice, and caring." Sure, she was listing off all the random good qualities which popped into her head, but Lianna matched up to all of them. Plus, the Huffle girl appeared to need a confidence booster. Or at least the sonorus spell because her voice never amounted to more than a mumbling (except for the previous 'Yes, you!'-one of the few times Abigail heard her raise her voice in the least bit).
"C'mon," she urged again. "I'll help you even!" Though, Abby didn't have a clue as to how she was going to help. Maybe pretend she was Ty so Lianna could practice?

While Abi was persistent in forcing her to carry out this match-maker escapade of hers, Lianna was still wishing she hadn't opened her trap. She knew something like this would happen because of it. She could only nod at her rather obvious statement before the other girl moved on to a rather flattering, but at the same time bothersome list of her positive qualities. Lianna was simply at a loss of what to do, a major loss.
However at Abi's propostion, Lianna couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "And how do you plan on doing that?" She questioned, feeling not all to grateful for Abi prying this much out of her. She could talk to him at the ball without him going with her, or after class or just about anywhere she managed to find him. Provided she both felt like it and had some backbone to do so.
She didn't know where her emotions or feelings really layed, she just knew that she both a) didn't know what to do in the slightest, and b) was going crazy trying to find out.

She shrugged. "I dunno. I could help you work out what you're going to say to him, help build up your confidence. Even pretend to be Ty if you wanted." Abby was half joking about this last proposition, though.
"But you know, I'm not going to force you to ask him." Abigail had been watching Lianna's pained expressions this entire time. If she really didn't want to do this, Abby couldn't make her.

"Abi...that has to be the craziest thing I've heard you suggest...." Lianna claimed, grateful however for the consecutive offers. "Its not hard to form it in my head, but...I'm not sure if I'll actually be able to say it..." The second year added, being fully truthful about it all. Elbows on her knees and head in her hands, the girl tilted it upward so her eyes focused barely on the firelight and coals.
She knew Abi couldn't force her, but she also couldn't help but feel the pressure to do it. She knew Abi wanted her to, heck she herself wanted to, but it was difficult to understand for her.
