Who knew how much time had passed since Izzy had first entered the festive common room. Whether it had been a couple minutes, five minutes, or more, the first year had yet to move. This was the first party she'd been to since her friend - Melanie - had her birthday back in July. She hadn't even had a small party for herself when her birthday arrived back in December. That was partially because of the recent Dragon Pox outbreak, partially because she didn't know enough people to invite, and partially because she'd had no idea whether or not they had parties in the Wizarding World. Since then she had come to realize that the last thought was ridiculous. Of course they had parties.
When Izzy finally snapped out of her admiring the decorations, she realized that several more Gryffindors had showed up... none she knew personally, though. She had seen them in the hallways and in the common room of course, but she'd never interacted with any of them. That was about to change, though. House unity was important at Hogwarts, and she refused to not take part in it. She knew Chris, her fellow first year, and they were pretty good friends, but she needed to know more lions.
So with that in mind, the red head bolted toward the girls' dormitories. She climbed the winding staircase up to the first door, behind which was her dormitory. She opened the door and crossed the room to her bed, on which she threw her bag. Her robes soon joined it, leaving Izzy in the school attire - white blouse under a sweater vest that had a neckline in Gryffindor colors. She wasn't too fond of the outfit, especially the shirt, socks, and shoes, but it was a Gryffindor party - why not stay in the outfit that advertised what house she belonged to?
After that quick decision, Izzy was back down the stairs into the common room. Her quick, excited pace slowed at the end, until she came to a full stop. She bit her lip as her green eyes scanned the room... everyone was older than her. It was only slightly intimidating though, and before Izzy could think twice about it, she half-walked half-skipped over to the biggest group. "So who's responsible for this?" she asked loudly while signaling to all of the decorations. "It's awesome."

Sophia looked down to see a little red-headed First Year. Her green eyes were simply filled to the brim with excitement.
"So who's responsible for this? It's awesome."
"I'm guessing that it's our Prefect, whoever that is. I think his name's Tristan or something." She paused, scanning the room for a possible Tristan character. Ehh, she'd figure it out eventually. "The Common Room does look spectacular, though, I've gotta hand it to him. I never thought it could look so festive!"

The tone of Tristan's voice worried Anna a little bit. It sounded much like the day they talked in the owlery together which wasn't very comforting. But that was one subject that she really didn't want to bring up right now, this was a party after all. Speaking of which, where did he keep that mysterious little book he had with him that day? That is what was worrying the gryff the most, her boyfriend had been behaving strangely since he started reading that thing.
Pretending not to notice, Anna kept her arms around him and continued to smile. "Well, I'm very shocked. What inspired you to through a party?"

While the older girl didn't seem too sure who Tristan was, Izzy was positive. She had seen the Gryffindor prefect tons of times before and had no problem spotting him. "Oh yeah," she responded as her eyes quickly scanned the room for him. It only took her a few seconds to find the boy who was surrounded by a few lions not too far from where Izzy was standing. She raised her arm and pointed toward him. "Tristan - there he is." Despite the fact that the lion's attention was focused nowhere near the first year, she still smiled at him. Whatever the occasion was for, he did an awesome job getting it together.
And then Izzy wondered if Felicity had anything to do with this. After all, she was the other prefect, and the girl who had answered Izzy had first said that she guessed it was their prefect. While the red head still hadn't completely forgiven the female prefect for losing Gryffindor so many points, the planning and execution of this party would surely help get rid of Izzy's grudge.
But enough about that for now. House unity. Izzy was ready to meet her fellow red and golds.
"I'm Izzy," she suddenly said, thrusting her hand out toward the older girl. Her lips curled up into a smile as she waited to hear the other girl's name.

"Well, I'm very shocked. What inspired you to through a party?"
He grunted, making a weird facial expression. "So everyone can get to know one another," he said as he then pushed her arms away gently. He then stood up.
"I'm not sure if Felicity will be here to take over, so while I'm gone, I'll leave you in charge of supervising as I was going to," he said as he walk towards Sophia and Isabella. "Sophia," he said in a deeper voice," I leave you in charge of making this party the best.. I must leave on important matters. I'm counting on you," he smiled and then he walked towards the exit.

"I'm Sophia, it's nice to meet you!" She said, taking Izzy's hand lightly and shaking it politely. She was happy to meet a new lioness, as that was the whole purpose of the party. "Izzy, this is Guy and Eaden." She motioned to the other two in the group. "You're a Firstie, right? Myself and Eaden are both Sixths, and Guy is a Seventh, I think?" She looked quizzically at Guy for any sort of confirmation. They really hadn't brought that topic up, or if they had, Sophia's short attention span missed it. She did, however, notice Tristan walking towards her.
Sophia, I leave you in charge of making this party the best.. I must leave on important matters. I'm counting on you."
He smiled as he left, but Sophia was left completely confused. "Me?" She whispered, a little awestruck. "Ummm, okay!" She called out as he left, not knowing what 'being in charge' entailed. She turned back to the group, speechless.

Guy looked around, a little confused. He noticed the appearance of a small little Gryffindor and gave her a smile. She looked rather nice, and he didn't really know her. He looked back to Sophia, once again smiling as he responded to what she said. " Hey, yah. I'm a seventh year and I don't really know too many people in my own house. " He shrugged his shoulders before sliding his hands down into his pockets. He listened to the girl's conversation, nodding every once in a while, his small smile still playing at his lips.
" Yeah, I think it was Tristan. " He added in, confirming that it was their prefect who had organized the small gathering. " I'm a seventh year. You're only a sixth? " He asked because for some reason he had thought Sophia was in his year. He shrugged, turning to watch as Tristan pulled away from Anna, talked to Sophia, and left. Guy looked at him curiously, wondering what was up with his year mate.
" Tristan, buddy. " He called out just as the other seventh year turned to leave. What was up with him lately?

This wasn't totally unexpected but it still hurt as Tristan pushed her arms away and started to walk away. Who the heck walks away from a party you've spent all day working on? She sighed wishing that the old Tristan she knew would come back and laugh just like he always did. Damn him, she was going to have to sneak into his room and steal that stupid book of him then again, he probably memorized it by now. Trying to act like it didn't bother her too much, Anna turned face the others. But she said nothing, only looked around preoccupied by her thoughts. Hopefully the party would take her mind off things.

Henry had been getting in a few late hours at the library that afternoon, he had been quite fixated on the subject of dragon's blood for the past week and a half. He made his way up the stair to the portrait of the fat lady, thinking vaguely that this subject might have been a bit more easily pursued if there was some more detailed books in the library.
"Mandrake Root." said Henry to the portrait of the fat lady, who seemed to be a it tipsy.
"No...Champagne!" said the fat lady, burping slightly, and she swung forward to admit him.
Instantly, an explosion of sound filled his ears as music and happy chatter floated out of the portrait hole to meet him. For a moment, Henry simply stared, open-mouthed, through the hole at the common room beyond; He even took one hand and swung the portrait so that he could check that it was indeed the portrait of the fat lady, so disbelieving he was that this was his common room. Without any other explanation, he decided that he was indeed in the right place, and climbed through the round opening into the room beyond.
He took in the room's decorations, disco ball, and the various tables covered in party things in a matter of moments, and then looked around to see who was here. It took him a second to spot Eaden and several others standing in a group nearby, and he made his way over to them, his brown suede shoes dragging a bit on the carpet as he continued to stare around the room.
"Uh...Hi." he said, nodding to those in the group. "Whats going on?"
As if the answer wasn't perfectly obvious...

"Whats going on?"
Turning to the familiar voice she grinned to see who it was. Being in the festive mood she flung her arms around Henry and hugged him. Letting go after a few seconds she finally looked him in the eyes. "Well, we're having a party! But I think the host had just left. He left Sophia in charge." Eaden pointed to the girl next to her with a grin. "Other then that I've just been hanging out." As she spoke to him she rocked back and forth on her feet.
"Where were you? I didn't see you leave earlier," She asked him. Her eyes went around the common room and looked at all the people there. She didn't know anyone besides Henry and Sophia. In her mind she made a commitment to meet more people in her house.

Henry, who had still been peering over his shoulder at the room behind him, was quite taken aback by the sudden show of affection that he suspected had quite a bit to do with the festive atmosphere adding to Eaden's already cheery ways. As she hugged him, he patted her back a tad uncertainly, still a bit surprised, and thought Nice to see you too Eaden., but wasn't entirely sure if he had said it aloud.
"Where were you? I didn't see you leave earlier,"
Henry looked around for a moment before answering, still not having fully registered the surroundings.
"I went to the library, I suppose you just missed me." said Henry, eying one suspicious looking first year who was hiding in a corner. "I confess, I didn't really expect to be there long, but I found the most fascinating journal of an alchemist by the name of Nicholas Flamel."
He paused for a moment, then, deciding they may not have wanted to talk about anything that could be considered school work, abruptly changed the subject.
"Well...what have been up to today?" asked Henry, grabbing a cup of butterbeer off a nearby table, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose with the index and middle fingers of his free left hand, and taking a deep swig, peering guiltily over the rim of the cup at Eaden.

Guy stared after Tristan as he left, still curious about what had been going on lately with his fellow seventh year. He sighed, unsure what to do, and turned back to the group at large, giving everyone a small smile. He caught a glance of Anna, who was looking a little put out about Tristan leaving. She looked bummed, and Guy was feeling a little bummed himself. He wasn't that close to Tristan, but still felt weird about the dude just leaving like he did after organizing the whole party.
" Hey, Anna... " Guy said, walking over to the sixth year with a smile on his face. " What's up? " He asked, trying to cheer her up a little bit just by talking. He didn't know if it would work, as he had only ever really talked to the girl a couple of times, but he hoped it would.

Turning, Anna looked at Guy wondering what she was going to say. She was fine of course but Tristan was not and it was making her more and more concerned. It was a good idea to talk to someone about him but not right now, now was not a good time for the girl. "Its nothing. Tristan...he's been acting a little strange lately. But I'm sure it will pass." the sixth year said with a false smile. "Wonder why he wants to leave a party he spent all this time on, normally he would be the first to cause trouble." she continued trying to sound casual.

She could tell when she hugged him it surprised him. Grinning sheepishly she hoped no one saw her do this. Dropping her hands into her hoodie pockets she listened to what Henry did for the day. Nodding along she absentmindedly picked up a cup of butterbeer and took a sip.
"I confess, I didn't really expect to be there long, but I found the most fascinating journal of an alchemist by the name of Nicholas Flamel."
Laughing quietly she put her cup down for a second to pull off her hoodie. She threw the hoodie on a chair. Looking back at Henry she fixed her hair, trying to not have bed head. "You'll have to show me that book sometime. I'd love to read it."
"Well...what have been up to today?"
"Uh..me? I slept in. Then I went outside to run around. Thats pretty much it. Now I'm here," She said smiling. She picked up her cup of butterbeer and took another swig. "This is some party eh? Quite happy that we're having it. I have yet to meet many of our house mates."

Guy was oblivious to the forced nature surrounding Anna's smile, and he took it to be a genuine one. Maybe she knew something about Tristan that would keep her from worrying about him too much? It was kind of likely, as Guy didn't know either of them too well. " Well, hey yeah I'm sure you're right. He always comes around. " He mentioned with an easy going grin.
He let out a soft chuckle before mentioning, " Ah, well. Maybe he's causing trouble elsewhere is all.. " He trailed off slightly, feeling a little better now that it seemed like Anna wasn't fretting too, too much. " How's the quidditch team been? " He asked, remembering suddenly that Anna was the team captain. That had to be stressful for her, almost in her seventh year at Hogwarts and being Quidditch team captain. Guy didn't know much about the sport, but he was pretty sure any job being in charge of other people would be stressful.
