Stepping now into Greenhouse Three the man's tired eyes scanned the well lit room. It was 2 in the afternoon, and by all regards the man of 31 years should not be tired at all, but he had been flipping through old books and memories most of the night, not to mention finding some still left on walls.
Now he began the tiring task of trimming yet another greenhouse's supply of plants before they took over the premises.

Herbology lessons were typically the highest level of interactive lesson that Tori could tolerate and still be enjoying herself while learning as any good Ravengirl should. Curiosity at the level of interaction required in this particular Herbology class was the fuel that had brought her to the greenhouse door where she now stood, having finally discovered the location of the current Herbology professor. As he trimmed, Victoria stepped through the doorway, getting a closer look at the man as she waited his notice of her.

The near silent footfalls of the girl were indeed hear, but the man had not as of yet turned around. He had no cause to. Continuing his trimming, now the plant of interest being fire grass, which was currently sitting a good four feet tall in spots he took a quick step back as the grad sent a few small streams of embers into the air.
"Bloody things gone wild...it seems, I shall simply have to find, and make tame a fresher bushel..." The man said as he placed a mediocre barrier charm around the plant to keep it from igniting the whole greenhouse aflame.

Coughing to clear her throat before speaking, eliminating the small chance she'd surprise the man by speaking, Tori took the initiative and piped up. "Smart move. Wouldn't want anything to light up, especially in a greenhouse. It would completely through off the 'system."

His head turned forty-five degrees as he heard the girl's voice. "You've been there longer than I had first assumed then?" Came the man's questioning reply as he took two careful steps backward from the turned wild plant.
When it came right down to it, it would serve a good purpose to drift into contact with the student body, even if so at a grueling pace. It would serve better to know them, a tad more than a classroom basis.

"Possibly," Tori responded, shuffling her feet on the ground. "Probably. Can't be certain, though, as I haven't developed the ability to read minds, yet."

"At least ten minutes, so what brings you to this formerly tamed wilderness?" Shaw inquired as the fire grass continued to try and break through the barrier. Shaking his head at the persistent plant he walked over, sheers in hand to the sneezewort and began again; all the while waiting for the girl's reply.

"Actually, Sir, I was in search of you. You are the Herbology professor, are you not?" Tori asked, sounding timid, but in fact, far from it as she stepped further into the greenhouse, pausing beside a plant resembling Devil's Snare.

He was half tempted to raise a curious eyebrow at the girl, not many seek him at all, yet alone members of the student body. Placing the sheers in his pocket he paused in his work.
"I am, I am also curious as to why one would seek me, so please, explain." Robert replied courteously, all the while his eyes watching the rest of the plants in the room sorting them mentally by priority.

The right side of Tori's mouth twitched upward when she noticed the older man avoid her gaze. "I was just wondering if I could get any information regarding your course before the class begins. To be prepared and such."

"Year?" He questioned in reply, after taking in the girl's words. Anyone wishing to know what they were studying before it was assigned was someone either in Ravenclaw house, or with their future planned. This girl seemed to have one of the two if not both qualities.
The devil's snare would have to be moved to Greenhouse 8, the one with the least amount of other plants within, that was decided near immediately, but the devil's snare was also on the far side of the current greenhouse, out of reach, he hoped.

"Third," Victoria said, almost reflexively, which was strange considering the short amount of time she had spent at the school. Glancing over at the plant beside her as it shifted. In a moment of uncertainty, she stepped sideways, a step back from the potentially dangerous plant.

"Mandrakes, knotgrass, the fanged geranium, and a lecture on devil's snare, as a practical lesson with the plant will not come until your sixth year." He replied off the top of his head. Memorizing his curriculum was one of many things he did for his own personal assurance, it also allowed him to not have to clutter his desk with lesson plans.
When the girl sidestepped out of seemingly random he turned at what she was moving away from before peering under the table. "Muggle brier vines, harmless unless you get dropped into a bushel of them." Claimed Robert with a small smile. Tables, were only a highway for vines to grow on.

"Three interactive and one lecture," Tori muttered as she glanced down at her fingers and thought about the difficulty level of each lesson and stored the information in her head for future reference. Then, Professor Shaw made reference to her slight movement. Without say anything else, her left eyebrow rose slightly and the sight of that eye sharpened as she returned to the smiling professor.

"Devil's Snare has been deemed unsafe for your age group by the Ministry, and the last thing I need is someone from the Education Department breathing down my back who knows no more about the plant than a first year." He said with a small pause.
"I believe, your age group is capable, however I must adhere to regulations." He finished a knowing look on his face. Anyone given the proper ways to keep devil's snare at bay and controllable was capable of dealing with the plant. If one chose to be ill-attentive in such teachings, they would find out the hard way.
