Brittany nodded and a silence settled over them. She started to think about which she'd rather have, mischief or trouble. It was pretty easy seeing as how she hadn't really done much of either she would choose mischief just because it sounded like less to deal with.
Looking around she noticed once more the plants that were just ending their song. Laughing quietly she broke the silence with, "I must congratulate you....."

Drew had gone back to doodling in the dirt when Brittany spoke and broke the silence. "Huh?" he asked, looking up at her, a little confused before he realized what she had said. "Me or the plant?"

Brittany giggled then shook her head.
"Congrats to you...." She clerified, looking to him and smiling.

Drew's face made it clear that he was even more confused now. "Me? Why? What did I do?" he asked.

Brittany had been expecting this one and spoke quietly on que, "You made me forget. You made me forget about......well everything that I came here for. No one else has been able to keep me from thinking about.....well.....stuff. You're the only one that has succeeded and I want to say thank you." She knew that it didn't explain everything but it did tell him two things: she'd been upset and he'd helped her not to be even if it was for right now.

"Sure," Drew answered with a smile and a shrug. "No problem... I guess..." He still wasn't quite sure what he had done and wasn't sure she would want to explain further to him, but he was glad he could help none the less.

"What did you come in here for?" Brittany asked suddenly.
She knew that the Ravenclaw boy had said something before spotting her though she didn't recall what exactly. Plus, she knew that he didn't come here to just chat up the plants so he had to be in here for something. She also wondered why he had came and talked to her.

Drew held up the herbology book he still had in his hand. "I left it here after class," he told her. His mind had been on other, more important things than how to properly spread dragon dung around a bubotubers.

Brittany nodded. It was strange that the boy had come and talked to her especially since he probably had other people that he'd rather talk to.
"So how come we forgot our book, eh? Had our mind on something other than herbology?" She asked.

"It happens," Drew answered back giving her a small smile and a shrug. "Like you always pay attention to what's going on in class, right?"

Brittany nodded. In a matter-of-factly tone she answered, "Do to. How else would I be able to get into NEWT level courses!"
She knew very well though that she had never payed attention in herbology. That was why it was the only subject that she hadn't passed.

Drew shrugged back. School had always come pretty easy for him and he could usually get by with a minimal amount of book work... and Allegra's notes of course.
"I figure I don't need Herbology anyway," Drew answered. He had flat out told the last Herbology professor that the class was a waste of his time and he was only taking it now because it was required. Once he took his OWLs, he was out of there.

Brittany laughed and shook her head. It was another thing that they shared. She had wanted out of herbology since about her third year and had known that it was completely stupid to take a class about plants.
"Yeah....well. That's how I saw it, the class is dumb so I got out of it the first opportunity I got. I mean who wants to know about plants? Seriously! And you know the OWL for the class was fairly easy-" Brittany had let the last part slip. Cutting off mid-sentence she wondered if she had just given herself away.

"You bombed it on purpose?" Drew asked his eyes growing wide. He was planning on getting the OWL, but just dropping the stupid class.

Brittany sighed and looked down at the pile of dirt that she had gathered in front of her. Spreading it out she started to draw different shapes not knowing how to answer his question. She couldn't say that she did cause she was already sure he'd think it stupid, but she couldn't say that she didn't cause that wouldn't exactly be the truth. Keeping her eyes on the ground, she let the silence answer for her.
