Most of his current fourth years were names he didn't know from the year prior, this worried him because he knew nothing as to how they would behave. Their topic of the day stood in four different areas of the room.
It was about two and a half feet tall with oval shaped leaves, and lavender flowers at the top. It looked alot like any other shrub, he couldn't rightly help it if the class was boring. Perhaps he should have heeded the words of the Thornton boy the year prior and actually found a 'funparty' plant...
But enough of that. The man leaned against the forward most desk, awaiting the student's arrival. He could only hope for a decent start.

Jack exited the castle and made his way to the greenhouse where they were having the Herbology lesson. He entered the greenhouse at a quick walk and noticed, again, that he was the first student there. "Hello Professor." he said in a polite voice when he saw that the professor was in the room and leaning on the front desk. He decided to sit in the middle of the room and made his way over to a desk that was three from the front. He sat down at the desk and began to rumage through his bookbag for some supplies.

Pat walked down the grounds, toward the greenhouses for the first Herbology lesson of the year. He wasn't the most eager to get back to lessons, but it was good to be back at Hogwarts. He entered the greenhouse and took a quick look around. So far only Professor Shaw and a student were there. "Hey, Professor," he said to Shaw, before making his way to the same table the other kid was at. He sat down, putting his bag on the table. There would be a little time before class, so he turned toward the Ravenclaw next to him. Sticking out his hand, he introduced himself. "Hey. Name's Pat Nollet."

Jack looked up as someone else entered the room, it was a Hufflepuff boy. When the boy had made his way to the table that Jack was sitting at, taking a seat next to him and introducing himself, he said "Jack Roarbitz, Nice to meet you." He was please that another student had showed up for the class and that he had chosen to take a seat next to him. He didn't know many people so he was glad to meet other students from any house. "How's it going?" he asked trying to make conversation.

Talia hurridly went to the green houses, this also happened to be one of her favorite classes, and it was out doors aswell. She was happy to not be the first to class, and was glad to see some people she knew there. She walked up to the two boys and happily sat down without asking this time. She figured they wouldn't mind, and everyone would then have someone to talk to. "Hey guys, long time no see." She said smirking, and putting her bag down by her feet.

Jack watched as Talia entered into the classroom. It hadn't been but ten or twenty minutes since he had last seen her and it made him smile. "To long." he said with a laugh, "Whats it been like ten minutes?" He ment no offense and was just messing around with her. Personally he thought that it could come in handy to have someone he knew in all of his classes. That way if he missed something or was absent a day he would always have someone that he could ask.

"Oh, I dunno, maybe like 12?" She answered grinning. She was wondering if there was only one class that Jack wasn't in, which was Muggle Studies, which she found intreging. She was glad she knew him and that he was in all her classes, it may or may not come in handy one day. Besides, he didn't seem to be sick of her yet, so why not be friends? At least if they ever needed something to talk about, the classes they had could spark a conversation. So far it was really funny how this was coming all together.

Jack grinned back. "So is there a class that I'm not in?" he asked with a laugh. He was starting to wonder if she had any other classes that he hadn't taken thinking that if she did he would be amazed because the classes he had seemed like they were going to be a handful already. He was also starting to wonder if she had taken every class that was offered at the school, because how could they have this much in common, but maybe they did.

Anna hurried into the greenhouse hoping she wasn't late. "Bloody watch! Why did you have to pick today to break huh?" she thought to herself. Best part was that she was in herbology, one of her least favorite classes. She never really liked plants and whatever career in her future might not require her knowing it but at least she was fair at it. Not like she failed it. Setting her things down she looked up and hoped class would start soon so she could get this over with.

He had four fourth years, about a third of his class this was not a decent start. The students themselves didn't seem to care anymore, of course wiht most of the names on the roster being new, he supposed some of them could have lost their way. After a brief waiting to see if more would arrive, Robert decided that it was as good as any time to begin the lesson.
"Good afternnon ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon indeed. Trusting that you all did indeed have a decent summer, I hope you four are prepared for another year in the greenhouses." Robert welcomed before moving right onto business.
"I'm certain you all have noticed by now the small shrubs placed in various points about the room. Anyone know anything about them? Anything at all?"

Anna raised her hand. "Isn't the Abyssinian shrivelfigs used to make a shrinking solution?" she said. She could have remembered her grandmother telling her about them. After all, she had so many plants in her garden that Anna learn to stay away from the yard after one bad experience. Anyway, if there was something she knew about shrivelfigs, it might have been what she just said.

((occ: I'm not sure if I should pretend I was always here or not...because I'm also new.))
Ash stared around the room at the plants of all assorted sizes and color. She never liked plants at all. They were always infested with bugs or insects or something nasty of that sort. The magical ones weren’t any better. She took out her pen and a parchment of paper and scribbled a few notes down, noticing that no one else was taking any. Her rat clawed at her robes from inside her pocket which made the whole situation uncomfortable. Pocko was his name, she wasn’t quite sure why she named him Pocko, although she felt it suited him nicely.

Pat had mostly just listened during Jack and Talia's conversation, not really wanting to butt in when he really had nothing to contribute. He waved at Anna as she entered, as well as to a Ravenclaw girl whose name he did not know. He'd talk to her later perhaps, but there wasn't any time at the moment, for Shaw had officially started the lesson.
Pat honestly didn't know what the shrubs around the room were used for, or even what they were called. He hadn't taken the oppotunity to brush up on his Herbology yet. It didn't matter though, as Anna answered before he would have had a chance. Abyssinian Shrivelfig, eh? he thought, echoing what Anna had called them. He took down a note of it, that put down his quill, waiting for the professor to speak again.

Ash waved back to the friendly looking Hufflepuff boy, he seemed to wave alot in all her classes. She slumped down on her desk waiting for the Professor to begin the lesson already. Ash decided to take out her textbook while waiting and reveiw although after flipping through and noticing she already knew all of this stuff she took out her rolly pen and began to draw a stick person on the back of her left hand.
