Dean was slightly startled by Arianna's comment, he moved his chair more... where it was supposed to be right in front of the desk. When she said this Dean's hand found it's way to Natalie's knee, he brushed his hand lightly against it, only once before retrieving it. His immediate reaction was to possibly, if he could, prevent Natalie from going off on the Ravenclaw. His second reaction, though, was to joke with Ari and laugh. Dean did say, " Well, I'm not jealous of you at all, Ari. " Referring to her ' who wouldn't ' comment.

Transfiguration, Keagan's favorite class. It was no wonder she passed her OWL so easily, and with flying colors to boot, but the teen was a bit worried that this was only one of two classes she'd be taking this year. That couldn't be good for her potential career choices. These thoughts had been on her mind all day prior to the first Transfiguration class of the year, but as she approached the classroom, she decided not to worry about it for at least the time being. Perhaps she'd have to pull up a chair in Professor G's office sometime soon, though.
Peeking around the door to make sure she wasn't late for the class, Keag took a preliminary glance around the room before entering. Everything seemed about normal; it looked like everybody she expected to see in the class was there, along with a few newbies. It was when her eyes fell on two of these newbies, the Slytherins, that her jaw almost dropped. Almost, but she controlled it. What she had seen was Dean's hand on another girl's knee. She shook the thoughts out of her head as she stepped into the room; she had no right to be thinking what she was thinking, none at all.
Instead of making anything of it, she took a seat in the row in front of them, beside the new Hufflepuff transfer. Somehow she managed to muster a smile as she turned to the Huffle and greeted her with a cheery "Hello."

Well, these ones at least knew how to open their mouths. Most of the classes before them had whispered to one another once or twice, and sort of just blinked at him. These ones actually sprawled all over his desks and chairs and chatted openly with each other. Ah well, classic sixteen year old kiddies.
When enough of them had poured into his room for his liking, the mass of a man stood up, flashing them all a grin and a wave of his hand.
"All right, you talk how much you want, I just expect you to listen when I do, and save a bit of breath to respond when necessary. After all, this is only a N.E.W.T.s class, and only your future on the line. I've already messed mine up, so nothing to lose on my part."
It was hard to see if the man was being sarcastic or not. That grin was hard to interpret.
"So, I heard you had some blond woman last year, did the witch teach you anything worth knowing?"

"Tha's a negative sir." Corey sang out with a small chuckle. Corey was actually quite surprised he'd even heard they'd had a teacher considering how rarely he'd even seen the woman around the school. Professors were in and out so fast lately that the Prefect had stopped trying to make heads or tails of who was who.
"And, pardon my rudeness sir but d'you have a name? Or does that not pertain to the task at hand?" Yeah, Corey was taking a gamble that the comments the man had made mere moments before had been serious and not sarcasm. Besides, it did absolutely no good to have a Professor and NOT know his name, He had a score card to keep track of, as well as a pool on how long he'd last. He needed a ruddy name to put on the ruddy piece of cardboard.
After all, when seventeen sickles are on the line...names are important. Very important.

Vanessa was not big on Transfiguration, and she really didn't care if she was late or not. She was already in a pretty bad mood, and having to go to class just made it worse. She wasn't mad at anyone or anything in particular, but just the world in general. It was just one of those days.
Casually, Nessa walked down the hall towards the classroom, taking her merry time. She reached the door she entered the room and looked around. Her eyes landed on Dean first and she smiled. She pretty much ignored the professor and crossed the room to where he was. That was when she saw what was going on. She saw his hand glide across her knee and a scowl appeared on her face. Instead of sitting with them, she glared at the girl and turned to sit beside the Gryffindor she'd met up in the tower. She nodded to her, but didn't say anything. Instead, she sat down in a huff and slammed her bag onto the table angrily.

Transfiguration. At least Dragos was good at it. He knew he was already late, and he swore loudly as he ran down the hall. He nearly tripped over his feet as he slowed down enough to enter the room. He opened the door and took the first seat he could find, which was close to the front. "Prokleto!" he muttered to himself as he didn't want to be close to the front at all, but then again, he wasn't going to get up and move now. He looked around at the students in the room quickly, and realized he didn't know anyone. He turned back to the professor, hoping he wouldn't get busted for being late.

Natalie's dark eyes drifted to Ari as she spoke, however it didn't seem to get on the girls nerves. I mean what good were those traits - legs, brains, and talent- if they were thrown sloppily together with the rest of what she had (whatever that was)? She may have talent but it wasn't on how to handle herself and look appealing. A smirk settled on her dark lips and she gave a half laugh. Right now it wasn't necessary for Dean's hand to be on her thigh but she permitted it to let him know that he could.. not to mention she didn't mind the slight display of attention.
Natalie's thoughts were quickly redirected as some scraggly looking Hufflepuff 'girl' came in and became quickly too interested in ... well.. Natalie's business. Natalie's dark eyes sat on hers, looking past the fact that the girls flawed physical traits were the type to make you nauseous. She obviously had a problem with Natalie and she felt she might as well earn this negative attention.
The Hufflepuff sat in a seat next to a Gryffindor, slamming her bag down on her desk. Well, Natalie was quickly on her feet and following her. After she sat down Natalie placed her hand on her bag and shoved it out of the way, her hands both taking their place on top of her desk. She leaned down a little, to keep from having to make this little.. conflict public, at the moment. Her dark eyes were settled on the little 'Puffies' and her tone was low and cold, "Do we seem to have a problem here?" She arched her left eyebrow, not once blinking.. Natalie hoped the girl would say 'No' so she could quickly remedy that. "You need to either remind me or perhaps I should make something up all on my own.. Because believe me darling, I will."

Mike whom was now sitting behind Keagan and Vanessa, only because they sat in front of him, watched as the Slytherin strode over and pushed Vanessa's bag off to the side, was up straight away and suddenly beside the Slytherin girl.
"Back off and leave her alone, if you know whats good for you"
He said to her in a threatening voice, he wasn't one to just let his house mates be bullied....especially by Slytherins.

Natalie Bane turned to the other Hufflepuff, "My, my, aren't we the courageous one? However no matter how brave you feel you obviously are lacking in intelligence - after all if 'precious' here didn't want my attention she should have behaved in a more appropriate manner. Not to mention, I wasn't talking to you - so I suggest you find your seat." Her eyes quickly glanced over him, sizing him up. It was sort of ironic that a guy had to come to a girls aid.. that made him look bad considering they were supposed to respect the opposite sex - women supposedly delicate and fragile.
She turned her head back to Nessa, her eyes settling on hers. "Now if we have a problem I say that we should settle it now. After all it's much better than opting for the other choice and letting me find you later to resolve this matter." Natalie didn't know what 'Nessa's' problem was nor did she much care.. She merely wanted to neutralize the situation but given the professor was sitting in the same room she could only go so far.. right now. "Or perhaps you just can't help it.. maybe you are just a victim of poor heritage." She shook her head at the girl, obviously not impressed by her whole.. demeanor. "If you don't know how you should look at others perhaps removing one or both eyes would be a constant reminder, or remedy for the problem." She said this as if offering friendly advice but as usual there was something hidden within the girl that showed she found pleasure in these sick games.. And the sad thing is that Natalie didn't really have a conscience to stop herself.. actually she opted not to and would do anything she could get away with.

And in about a second of Mike getting up, Dean did, too. Not because he was completely afraid for Natalie, far from it, he knew she could handle herself fine. It was because he had always wanted a reason to fight Mike. Something about the Hufflepuff just annoyed him constantly. Even when he talked Dean just wanted to punch him sometimes. No, all the time.
" Hey, Mike. Mind your own damn business. " Dean said to him in a false cheery voice. He didn't have his wand on him so Dean gave him a hard shove on the shoulder. Sure, he might get a detention for it but he didn't care. He glanced at Natalie and Vanessa, wondering what she was going to do next. He also waited for Mike's response with a smirk already on his face.

Couldn't he have just one lesson that wasn't boring or meddlesome? This latest spew of trouble made him drop his sarcastic lip and also rise from his chair. "Oi now! Cool ye jets the lot of ye! Fighting ain't gonna solve nothing here." Corey chipped in sternly, stepping between the two before they had blood spilt. Merlin if this was a prelude to anything, it would be a most interesting year indeed.
It was three on one, if Mike let his pride go to his head and didn't see an offer at help. He really didn't like those odds in the slightest but hey, a melee was a melee. He made no motion to join the others instead remained by his seat, wand clearly visable to all. He what oen would call quick at dueling, but he was quick enough to duck.

As soon as Natalie approached, Keagan jumped sideways out of her chair to stand beside it, putting a greater distance between her and the upset Slytherin girl. She was immediately glad that she had chosen to make as little a scene as possible when she herself entered the room, but was still worried for Vanessa's sake. Her own wand was drawn fairly quickly, though she hoped for a reason not to use it.
Her attention was focused on the pair of girls next to her. She might not say anything to them about their disagreement, but from the somewhat relaxed point of her wand, it was obvious that she would be on Vanessa's side in the brawl. Besides, the Hufflepuff hadn't exactly done anything wrong, had she?
Then all hell broke loose as Mike and then Dean joined in, though it seemed that Dean had ulterior motives for that particular confrontation. Keag's eyes turned to follow while her wand remained directed at the female Slytherin. Her eyes ended up meeting Corey's as he spoke and stepped in between the two boys.
"He's right. All fighting is gonna do is create more trouble and get you into trouble besides," Keagan spoke aloud. Besides, there were better places to -ahem- work out your differences than in the middle of a classroom, no matter how lenient the Professor was choosing to be about classroom decorum. Keagan hoped that they had slowed things down enough for the Professor to step in. Everything had been moving so quickly before.

Well, this could get fairly amusing. One Slytherin entered late, and a Hufflepuff did as well. Then another one of his dear Snakes, Miss Bane at that decided to start something, no doubt girly drama related. Miss Bane. He name was chuckle worthy, no doubt she wound up being a lot of peoples banes. He might have continued the lesson even still, but alas the boys decided to get involved, and two prefects as well. Half his class, then.
"Heh hem," he cleared his throat. "First off, five points from Hufflepuff for being late... and Slytherin as well for a tardy there was well, must be fair I suppose."
His arms crossed as he watched the kiddies go at it. And at the moment, they were a bunch of kiddies. "Second order of business, this year we are learning Human Transfiguration. If you want to be our first demonstration of the day, remain standing, I have no vices against turning you into a bone. If not, sit. I said you can talk while I'm not, but said nothing about standing and creating icky drama."
The Slytherin HoH waved his arms in a shooing gesture, motioning everyone back to their seats. "Come on now, be good little kiddies. Back to your seats, you know you can do it," he cooed.
Mocking them? Oh, that was a 100% yes.

Natalie Bane didn't mind at all that poor little Nessa had half the class standing up for her. In fact she saw this as being a promising challenge.. maybe. I mean after all the only reason the Hufflepuff house was created was because there were some people out there with no talents. I mean, it's not like they are smart, or sly.. or even courageous. Nope, they lacked in all those skills so what were they? Hardworking.. loyal (pfft). Basically they were stepping stones, things that people like herself could use as they trudged through the mud to keep from getting their own feet dirty.
What was it now.. two puffies and then add two gryffindorks on top of it. Dean had entered into all of this and she couldn't help but smile.. It wasn't really the fact that he was helping her but it was showing a sense of house unity. It didn't matter how much she hated her own house mates she had every intention of them trying to move up together. Indeed she meant trying because some seemed content just where they were at. Where was this ambition?
She heard the professors voice break the tense silence and she listened to his words, wondering if they were about to be punished.. they (Natalie and Dean) where members of his house and neither one had drawn their wands. No, leave that up to bad Gryffindor judgment.. Jumping right in and wanting to save someone no matter what the cost. Glory hogs.. that's all they were, pathetic. Natalie did what she did because she desired it, not the short lasting 'fame'.
She was surprised that he said nothing about anything more than a few house points being deducted... Still he was her Head of House and she wasn't going to bring any shame to Slytherin. She had talked to the girl in a stern and clear tone and she had sat there like she was... well, stupid (which in fact she was for drawing Natalie's attention to her).
She let her attention slide from this at the time being, doing as the professor wished. However upon her leave she gave the girls table a rough shove at her, "We'll see each other later." Her look was full of anticipation.. It would wait for later but that would make (hopefully) many things more benificial for ... well, Natalie - perhaps. She was already in the middle of turning and finally broke her eyes away from the girls as she once again found her seat, giving her professor (and HoH) her full attention.

Whatever Corey had interpreted the man's words to be before hell opened its black gates of wrath upon the room, Corey knew this time the man's words were every bit as serious as the wand he probably had on him, as well as the brain in his head. His wand was lowered to a half-cock position as re backed toward his seat, watching both the Huffle and the Slytherin. It wasn't that he didn't trust them, he just didn't trust their tempers.
As he backed up he nodded to Keagan to retake her seat as well. If they wanted to try something he'd hex them. That simple. But there was no way he was shooting first spell. No way at all. He'd certainly have to talk to the man abut his sarcastic remarks, make sure that he understood they were only in jest to lighten the mood. After all, everyone, including himself was on edge lately. Ministry or no Ministry, the murder was still fresh in most of their minds, of this he was certain.
His eyes swept over the class silently from one side of the room to the other before he full took a seat, his hand (with his wand) remaining on his desk in clear view. Not a threat, but an open visual aide saying he was still paying attention. This was supposed to be a wand work class anyway. He would have to have it out eventually right?
He knew the other boy's moods were probably against him at this point, after all he'd stopped they're stress relief fight. It was kinda like a mental game of mercy it seemed, push came to shove and whoever complained their hit hurt more lost.
