Vanessa sat in the fourth floor corridor, leaning against the stone wall with her knees up and her notebook open against them. With her pen in hand, Nessa tapped it against her book, trying to think of what to write. Yet another one of her stories. Nessa had a million of them. Lame, short stories that she wrote when she was bored, most of them being quite boring themselves. Still, she continued to write them, for she loved writing, despite how awful it was.
After a while, she gave up. She had no more ideas, and her mind was too preoccupied to think of anything else. Instead, she started writing something else. A song. Vanessa was big on music, and she was an OK singer, but she did love writing songs. The one she was about to write was a love song. Sappy and pathetic, but that was what it was. Her mind was constantly drifting back to one person in particular, and she couldn't get him out of her head, so she decided to get it out on paper. What could it hurt, right?

Finally. After what seemed like ages, Arianna had finally been let loose from the Hospital Wing. She felt fine but for a dull headache and her arm was still wrapped up and in a sling, but she was doing quite alright. It bothered her, though, that she couldn't remember the events leading up to her being in the Hospital Wing in the first place. Arianna had thought the fall must've happened as she was climbing the tree, but according to her Head of House, it had occurred a little while after. All she had to do now was head back to Ravenclaw and get some rest. Which she wasn't objecting to after all the work it took her to convince the nurse not to make her stay in that lonely wing by herself.
Reaching the landing to the fourth floor, Arianna turned toward the next set of steps, but stopped when she caught sight of someone sitting on the floor a ways down the hallway. Yes, she should have continued up, but curiosity as to why someone was up here alone caused her to turn back and investigate.
"You doin' alright there?" Arianna questioned as she came upon the girl, pausing right in front of her. "Need any company?"

Nessa heard feet coming up the stairs, but she just assumed the owner of them would pass on. However, they didn't. Stopping in front of her, the girl that the feet belonged to spoke. Nessa looked up and smiled at her. "Yeah, I'm just fine down here," she replied with a small chuckle, "And I would love some company."
Closing her book and sitting on it, Vanessa patted the ground beside her for the girl to sit. She recognized her from the Quidditch game, but she didn't really know the girl, nor could she remember her name. Nessa saw that her arm was bandaged and in a sling, much like her own, and she wondered what happened. "Hey look, we match," Vanessa said, showing the girl her arm, "What happened to you?"

Arianna grinned. At least she wasn't the only clumsy one around. Of course, her's wasn't so much clumsiness as fear of being hit. Now that she thought about it, though, Arianna supposed it would have been better to be hit by the paintball that had supposedly been the cause of her accident.
"Fell out of a tree," she replied. Then, pointing to a nice bruise on her left temple, added, "Received this beauty, too. At least, that's what I'm told. I can't remember any of it."

"Jeez," Nessa replied at the girl told her story, "That's quite the tumble. Why were you even up a tree to begin with?" Vanessa asked this with a chuckle. It was actually quite amusing, the behaviour of some of the students at Hogwarts, but Nessa would have it no other way. The book that Nessa had shoved under her butt was starting to get annoying, so she pulled it out from under her. As she did so, the book slipped out of her hand and flipped open to the page that she had been writing on, and everything was in plain view of the girl. Vanessa swore loudly and snatched the book up quickly. "Sorry," she muttered to the girl. ((You can say that Ari was able to read some of it if you. I think that'd spice up the thread a little ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) ))

"I climbed up there to work on some homework," Arianna replied with a slight shrug. It was an everyday thing for her. Didn't seem like much of a big deal. "My tree has a branch ten feet up that's just....oh..."
Arianna moved to pick the notebook up for the girl. She barely caught sight of what was written before it was snatched away, but didn't pay much attention to it. Arianna wasn't really one to read things she shouldn't.
"Oh, I'm sorry," she appologized, smiling sheepishly. "I didn't catch anything, if that's what you're worried about."

((Sorry it took me forever to reply XD))
"Oh, not its fine," Vanessa replied, setting the pile of stuff back down on her other side, "I'm just...paranoid about that kinda stuff. Kinda personal." Nessa smile at the girl. It was nice of her to not look, but it really didn't bother Vanessa if she saw it or not. In fact, she might offer to let the girl read it. But, maybe not. It wasn't worth it anyways. Just lame stuff.
"So climbing up the tree for homework? Is that a daily routine for you?" Nessa asked, turning the subject back to the injuries they had both sustained. Suddenly, Vanessa realized she didn't know the girl's name. "Oh sorry," she said, "Didn't even introduce myself. I'm Vanessa. You were at the Quidditch match, right?"

Arianna simply shrugged at Vanessa's comment. She thought it must have been a journal of some sort that the girl was writing in. That definately wouldn't be something Arianna would poke her nose into. She knew what it was like to have personal notes taken and wouldn't do that to someone else.
"Oh, my name's Arianna," she replied to the girl's second question. She wasn't quite sure which quidditch match Vanessa was talking about, so she simply said that she played seeker for Ravenclaw. "And as for the tree stuff.....Yeah. It's pretty much daily. No one sees me, no one bothers me. I can get most of my homework done way on schedual."
