Charlie shot two more jellybeans at the door. "Paralysis schmaralaysis," she had replied jokingly, instinctively twisting her foot away from the offender at the same time. She wasn't normally a ticklish person, but her Achilles' heel when it came to ticklish spots was... well appropriately, her feet. She tended not to give it away, for by the time someone could figure it out, she was running away, barefoot or not.
She continued to hear Layla's problems, nodding at the thought of not enough sleep before throwing a green jellybean into her mouth. "Ugh, lima beans," she said in disgust, but in honesty it was better than snot or vomit.
To Charlie's ears, what she heard was a rather brisk statement, but she didn't think it sounded cold. For the most part, she knew she would have offended Layla if she somehow distanced herself from Charlie. When that wasn't the problem, she jumped right on the more benevolent comment. "I like the way you think, Jimenez," she told her in a grin, but the grin was soon wiped off when a wiggle in her nose transformed into a sneeze. The girl barely sneezed, and she had a reason not to. Each of her sneezes always turned out to be high pitched and dainty. After recovering, she had a rather odd, embarrassed smile. "Uh, sounds 'lot better than homework and takin' care of snot-nosed kids."

[eeeeep, sorry i am le here, lol]
Layla smirked at her friend's misfortune with the Jelly Beans. That is, of course when she picked a black one up (which should have been a warning sign) that tasted of tar. Mirroring Charlie's reaction, she quickly swallowed, hoping the taste would go with it.
"You know... when you used to call them 'snot-nosed kids', I kinda felt bad for them," she said giggling. "But now..." she told her looking at the Slytherin, "I can see why you would say so." Laughing she shook her head. She wouldn't call them such a thing herself, but she now didn't mind much if Charlie ever did again.

Charlie parked one of her hands behind her head and used her wand hand to now levitate one jellybean at a time to her mouth. She was beginning to impress herself with the progress she was making with her magic. But when it came to wanting to improve her defensive and offensive magic, she decided that relying on physical strength was just one part that made one incomplete without a good strength in magic.
"Life of a prefect's a hard struggle. Plenty of times I didn't know who to chuck outta a window-- one of my Slytherins or myself," Charlie said, although it wasn't always like that. But sometimes when it came down to it, she hated to try to discipline her own peers, even when she knew that they would be thick-skulled and not even heed her in the end. It was the case of being on the other side of the fence.
