It had been a week since Tallulah had arrived at Hogwarts and there had only been one upside. That fact that Emeric was here was quite appealing. The boy had always been very much like her in views of the world which made them quite the pair. Her first day off since arriving Tallulah decided to explore the castle halls and walls. Wearing a pair of comfy flats, some comfy black pants, and a nice sweater that matched her dark blue headband. Her hair was pulled up into a messy bun. Even when her hair was messy it still looked amazing.
She started from her common room, working her way up. Looking at the pictures, out the windows, and seeing all the other various parts of the castle. She had to admit, her reservations of attending Hogwarts weren't all true. The castle had a certain ambiance to it, much like her family manor.
As she made her way to the third floor she stopped, feeling slightly tired. She walked over to the closest windowsill and sat down in it. There was no one in the hall besides her. She reveled in the silence. It's ability to calm someone down in mere seconds. She sighed quietly, still looking around.

Matty hated some weekends. Why? It had a fairly simply answer; for there was nothing to do but homework, and let boredom sink in. This was one of those weekends. The Hufflepuff had been ill throughout the week, and it seemed that one of the four people she usually spent the weekends with, had caught her cold. One out of four down. Besides Seth, Ryan was also sick. At their Hogsmeade trip, he had gotten a fever from one of the Joke Shops' sweets, and therefore had been 'chucking up' and feeling ill for the majority of the week. Two out of four down. So this left Tianne, Matty's best friend of the four. No, she wasn't sick as well, but merely chocked up with homework, which was a big disappointed to the Hufflepuff. So really, she had two choices today. Homework, or an attempt at entertaining herself.
Matty had woken at rather an early hour, and finished off one of the three assignments that was due come Monday. The teenager then began to write a reply to her brother back home, but gave up on this for she couldn't bring herself to concentrate on what she desired to write. So Matty left the Common Room in white slip ons and a pair of black skinny jeans, a fairly lose white v-neck tee-shirt was then tucked into the jeans. As she began to walk up one of the many staircases, Matty slipped on a red cardigan, that came down to about her waist. Her hair was straight, as it usually was, her bangs falling out here and there. Casual, but nice.
As she walked aimlessly up the stair cases, the girl hummed in her head. Nothing specific, just a random tune that had floated through her mind. Reaching the third floor, Matty pushed up the sleeves to her cardigan, and slipped her hands into her pockets. As she walked further along the corridor, the Hufflepuff spotted a girl, probably about her age, sitting on a windowsill, looking around. Perhaps a bit lost, even. The teenager made her way to the girl, however not recognizing who she was. "Hi there. Are you alright?" Matty asked, a friendly smile appearing on her face.

Tallulah's head turned to the voice that had just broken the silence. It was a girl, maybe her age or a little older. Tal's eyes scanned the girl for a few seconds. A small smirk appeared on her red lips. She got up from the windowsill with somewhat of a feline quality. Her eyes never left the girl as she walked towards her. "I'm fine. Just exploring my new home." She looked at the girls clothing, inwardly nodding in approval. At least someone else knows about clothing here, She thought, her smirk still there.
She held her hand out to the girl as she said, "I'm Tallulah." Her perfectly unchipped nail polish sparkled a little in the sunlight. "I haven't seen you around and I've pretty much only been in my house's common room so I'm going to venture you're not in Slytherin." She only asked this question to be polite. She could tell from a mile away the girl wasn't in her house.
In another situation Tal and this girl may not have been talking right now it suited her very well. Maybe once they get past all of the boring details they could be friends. Maybe.

Matty paused when she noticed the girl removing herself from the windowsill, and walked to wards her. The Hufflepuff gave a small nod when she answered her question. "Fair enough. I'm assuming you're new, then. What's your house and year?" the girl asked politely, a smile still on her face. She knew a fair amount of students from each house, of both genders and most ages. It helped to know allot of people in the castle, for then there were more opportunities to make friends, or even make contacts later in life. When the girl introduced herself, Matty took her hand gently, and shook it softly. When Matty returned her hand, she spoke in reply to the girls comment.
"Pleasure to meet you, Tallulah. I'm Matty, I belong to Hufflepuff. Our Common Rooms are pretty close together though," she said, her smile turning into a bit of a smirk. Matty had been to the Slytherin a couple of times before, mostly because one of her previous boyfriends was a Snake, and he had shown the entrance to her a few times. "So have you just transfered here from somewhere?" the teenager then continued to ask. Tallulah seemed like a very well mannered girl, and she held a very proper air to her, which Matty respected. The Hufflepuff found people who had low self-esteem quite unappealing, and the girl could tell that by her general appearance, the Slytherin was not one of these people.

She nodded as the girl said she was a Hufflepuff, she wasn't sure but she might have stumbled across the entrance to their common room. "Oh yours is also in the dungeons? I think I may have stumbled across it earlier. Saw a boy come out of nowhere. For a second I was spooked, but then I remembered where I went to school." She smirked slightly, thinking herself silly for recounting this story to Matty. Tallulah reached into her pocket and pulled out her lipstick, applying a fresh coat. Without looking in a mirror the lipstick went on fine.
"Before here? Beauxbaton. I was there for four and a half years. A few things happened that my parents weren't too happy about and they pulled me out." She sounded a little melancholy when she said this. She couldn't help it. Leaving Beauxbaton was one of the hardest things she ever did. "My parents have no idea about me at all. If they even had the slightest idea they'd have left me there. But I'm starting to like Hogwarts. I knew one person when I got here so it's been nice." This girl wasn't so bad. Tallulah would stick around a little while longer to chat. This Matty character seemed to meet her standards.

The girl nodded when Tallulah confirmed the fact. Her smirk grew a little wider as she mentioned a boy popping out of no where, before realising he came from the Hufflepuff Common Room. "Yeah, our Common Room is right near the kitchens. You get used to seeing odd things here and there, after a while. I think yours is to wards the Lake, is it not?" Matty asked. Her green eyes glanced about a bit when the Slytherin girl applied a fresh coat. The Hufflepuff didn't often wear much make up, but she really had no need to. Long dark eye lashes, lush eyes, fairly rosy cheeks and pink lips all matched her completion, and so make up was rarely needed for the girl. However Matty could tell that Tallulah didn't need much, either.
The Hufflepuff paid attention when the girl spoke of her school before here. She even felt sorry for Tallulah when she mentioned certain events that triggered her parents to pull her out, and put her here. Hogwarts wasn't a bad Magical School, by far, but Matty wasn't stupid, and she was aware that Beauxbaton was regarded a bit more upper class that Hogwarts was. The Hufflepuff didn't care that much though, for she had nothing to rightly compare Hogwarts with. This school did her just fine. "That sounds pretty rough," Matty said, her face showing signs of sympathy. "Hogwarts is pretty well off. There majority of students are really nice, and it's fairly easy to get settled." she said, a smile returning to her face. "Have you made any friends from your house, yet?" Matty then asked, pondering slightly on who she might know yet.

Tallulah thought for a second, trying to figure out where her common room was in conjunctor to the lake. After a few seconds she replied with, "Yeah. I'm pretty sure Slytherin is near the lake." She grinned ever so slightly, this one less smug and more out of enjoyment. She knew deep down she would never be as excited as most people here but she could at least be amused. "Really? Is there anything I should watch out for? I've heard of your resident ghost. Preeves? Peeves? I don't remember." She shrugged this off, saying it for no reason at all.
"I know. From the outside Hogwarts doesn't look like much. Once you step inside it is another story. At Beauxbaton we didn't have half as many portraits around the school. Nor did we have such....exhilerating staircases. Ours didn't even move," Tallulah said, leaning back against the wall. Her cool voice echoed slightly against the walls. Her eyes went over to the window for a second, then back to Matty. "I only know one person here. Emeric. We've known each other for years. He's grown into a very....handsome man if I do say so myself. My mother wants to set me up with him. She'd die if I became a Troy."

Matty gave another short nod to Tallulah, a content look on her face. "I thought so," the girl added casually, though not in any way cocky. When the Slytherin questioned her on watching out for certain things, including a mention of Peeves, Matty chuckled ever so slightly. "Theres only a couple of things to be careful of, and I have to admit, Peeves is one of them. Theres a fair few ghosts around, but he's quite the poltergeist. Allot of the younger students get egged and targeted by him on a weekly bases. However he doesn't go for older students that often, and most likely it's the boys." the girl stated, remembering back to a History class this year, when one of her Slytherin friends had been 'attacked' by Peeves, and ended up looking somewhat like a cake mix. "Other than that, just avoid being discovered when curfew is up, being on the grounds at night, and don't get caught in the forest - by Professor or whatever else is lurking in there. Oh, and be careful of the Giant Quid in the lake, usually he's harmless, but sometimes he can get stroppy." Matty said, sighing with a bit of relief once she had finished that splurge of information.
When the girl spoke of Castle itself, the Hufflepuff couldn't help but smile again. Recognition of Hogwarts was always nice to hear, now and then. "Mmm, you can become quite attached to this place after an amount of time," Matty said softly, looking up at the roof and walls for a moment or two. "Now that you mention it, be aware of the staircases too, they like to move, as I'm sure you've already noticed." she said, smirking a little again. When Tallulah replied with her answer as to who she knew, you could have knocked Matty over with a feature. The shock sunk in after a second, when she realised it wasn't actually that strange. They were both in the same house, and had that same presence to them, why she hadn't thought of it before now, the girl couldn't piece together. "Really? Thats interesting. I've gotten to know him a bit over the last term, though not to a great extent," Matty said, before adding "I have to agree with you, though. Emeric is quite charming, from what I know." Matty said, her smirk boarding on a brief smile.

She listened as Matty rattled off what she should watch out for. She didn't think the list would be that long. She didn't think of it as dangerous, just most fun to be had. "Wow. It's like this school is quite hazardous to your health. If it is anything like you say I'm going to really have some fun around here." Tallulah uncrossed her arm, letting them hang by her side. This was a big thing for her. She always kept that barrier up of her never being 'too comfortable' with anyone. Matty was different, she didn't try to get Tallulah to become her best mate after knowing her only five minutes. She was calm and collected.
She nodded along as the Hufflepuff spoke about the staricases. That, Tallulah thought just might have been the coolest part of Hogwarts, well besides her common room. The stairs moved! And some steps you had to skip. There were many things she thought were quite awesome about here. She smirked a little, this one being of the amusement nature. "Yes, he is very charming. I remember when he was a little boy. He grew into his features," She said nodding. Her smirk turned into a smile for a second, then transformed back to a smirk. "If my mum was here right now she'd have be and him together 24/7. All she wants of me is to marry rich. Lovely right?" Her voice sounded cold. She didn't direct the coldness to Matty, just to the thought of her mother.

The Hufflepuff raised her eye brows every so slightly however a smile still remaining on her face, as Tallulah stated that she was going to make the best of the castles hazards - to have fun. It was probably the first time Matty had heard someone react to the dangerous of the castle that way, and really, it was a welcomed change. New people were always saying how difficult it was to avoid the weird things about Hogwarts, but after you had been there fore a while, you started to make mischief and fun of them. Tallulah seemed to hold more to her than the eye met, which was something Matty could relate to. "Well it's good that you're looking at it like that. Allot of people seem to think that Hogwarts is all schooling." she said, rocking on her heels slightly.
The girl enjoyed hearing a bit of Emeric's past. When Matty had talked to him, they hadn't spoken about his past or family a great deal, however the girl was aware that not as many people were open to let out that information at first introductions. The Hufflepuff agreed with a small nod when the snake spoke of him as a younger child. "I can only imagine," she said with a light air. The Slytherin's next comment made Matty's expression change a little. She could heard the tone of voice change, it sounded rather deep and cold. "It's probably none of my business, but I'm sure she just wants the best for you. Though personally, the decision should be up to you in the end." Matty stated honestly. She didn't intend to offend, but just in case, her face now wore a small, friendly smile.
