It was a cold and chilly wintery day. Since Solis had taken up the Astronomy position, she had requested for Astronomy to be held during the day occasionally. Inside her hut, she had prepared a bunch of hot chocolate for her fourth and fifth year students. It seemed that since she had come to Hogwarts, Solis had gone completely soft. Maybe it was the leftover holiday cheer… whatever it was, Solis was looking forward to this lesson. The door to the Groundskeeper Hut was open for her class, and she waited patiently for them to arrive.

Jack had made his way all the way up to the Astronomy tower where to his dismay he had gotten the note and now had to walk all the way out to the grounds. At least he would be getting his exercise for the day, if he didn't passout on the steps on the way down. He made his way back down the stairs and out on to the grounds. Reaching the hut Jack noticed that the door was open and he made his way into it. Immediately noticing that the teacher was already there and that he had managed to be the first student yet again. Giving the teacher a quick hello he made his way over to one of the walls and leaned up against it waiting for the rest of the students to get there.

Verina's jaw had dropped when she'd read the notice upon the astronomy classroom door. Groaning she'd leaned her forehead against the door before spinning around and making her way all the way back down the staircase. She was slightly annoyed by the whole thing their professor could have posted the notice at the bottom of the staircase not make them walk all the way up there just to find out they had to go outside.
Upon reaching the hut she noticed it had been left for them so she made her way inside. The first thing she noticed in the room was hot chocolate. She licked her lips slightly before her eyes fell on Jack. Her expression quickly brightened from its former annoyance, "Hi," Verina said smiling as she went over to him, "You always the first one to class," she teased.

Finally. Another student. he thought as he heard the sound of foot steps outside of the hut. He just assumed it had to be a student because who else would be coming to the hut. Jack watched as the student made there way into the hut and was thrilled to see that it was Verina of all people. “Hey, Verine.” he said with a grin, “It’s a bad habit of mine and I haven’t managed to break it yet.” He hadn’t really tried that hard to either and was just glad that another person had shown up to the hut. “So what do you think this is all about?” he asked.

She couldn't help laughing softly, "No tis' a habit i'm gonna need to help you break," Verina joked as she glanced over at the hot chocolate since it was a tad chilly in the hut, "I'm not sure..." she said as she looked back at him, "Would have been nice if she'd put the notice at the bottom of the staircase though, "Verina said quiet enough so only Jack would hear her, "Hey... do you think we can take some hot chocolate?"

Drew sulked into the caretaker's hut, unhappy about this class for a number of reasons. It was his worst subject, taught by his least favorite teacher, and to make matters worse, she had gone and switched the schedule on them. Not that he was a fan of midnight classes, but he wasn't happy about losing one of his precious free hours of daylight.
And though the caretaker's hut was definitely not one of his favorite spots, at least they weren't stuck in the castle. Plus, from the lesson plan, it sounded like there was a good chance to blow something up. That helped a little bit.
He slumped into a seat in the back, hoping not to call attention to himself in any way. He had noticed the hot chocolate but had decided it would be just like Solis to figure out which cup he'd take and poison it.

Pat walked into the hut not too long after Drew. He was glad they wouldn't have to be up too late for lesson today; he had been having trouble staying awake and coherant the last few lessons, and was glad that wouldn't be a battle this go-around. He had to be awake to learn anything, right?
However, looking around at the Gryffie and two Ravens that were in the room, he wasn't to great about class being held here instead of the regular classroom. At least Ravenclaw and Gryffindor were near to the tower classroom were they found the note and came down; Pat had had to trek all the way from Hufflepuff to the towers, only to find that he'd had to walk all the way back down to get to the grounds and to the hut. Not exactly pleasant on one's feet.
As he entered, he saw the hot chocolate sitting on a table nearby. It looked set out for them; wouldn't hurt to take some, would it? Pat made his way to the table and got some of the warm drink. On a winter's day like this, the stuff was very nice. It'd be great to have this stuff in a regular Astronomy class. Keep us awake, Pat mused to himself. He decided to sit near the middle, but he turned in his seat toward Drew. "You not a fan of hot chocolate, Drew?" he asked. The Raven did seem particularly down, although maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

Ash arrived to the Astronomy class with a happy mood. Thank God that they had changed the time to day instead of night. She had almost fallen asleep in Solis's other class- it was terrible. She sniffed the air with her books in her hands and sighed- hot chocolate... It was just like Solis to prepare something nice for them. Even though their Astronomy Professor was sort of... insane(( not in a bad way Miss ^^ ), crazy, confusing, and a bit mean to some students- you could count on her to serve hot chocolate or exceptionally delicious sweets, on the occasion of Halloween. The Raven smiled and went to grab a mug of hot chocolate. Okay, before you read on, you must understand what a terribly clumsy person Ash is- she has got to be the only one to manage this. She was making her way to Pat and Drew with a cheery smile on her face and a small wave. " Nice day, isn-" she felt her foot slip under the other one, tripping on absolutely nothing at all. Ash fell over, right on her face, the hot chocolate drenching her books and robes.

Jack laughed when Verina said she need to help him break the habit of showing up early. He wasn’t sure that she would be able to. It seemed that when he even tried not to be one of the first people he was, but there was no harm in trying to kick the habit again. Maybe with help this time he would succeed. “Ya then I wouldn’t have bothered to hike all the way up and then back down again.” Jack said with a smirk. He hadn’t killed him to do it, but still he was a bit lazy by heart and if he would have known that he need not climb all of those stairs he wouldn’t have. “Sure why not.” he said smiling, “I’ll grab us some.” He walked over to the table just in time to see Drew enter and then Pat. He was done getting the drinks before pat grabbed his and handing one to Verina he gave both Pat and Drew a wave.
When Ash entered Jack looked up from his hot chocolate in time to see her make her way over too the table too and grab one. He waved and then watched as she tried to make her way over to Pat and Drew, but never quite getting there. Jack sat his cup down and walked over to give her a hand up. “You ok?” he asked bending down to check and offering his hand to help her up, “Need a hand?”

Drew was about to answer Pat when Ash came in and made her spectacular entrance. Well, at least he knew the hot chocolate wasn't corrosive or anything. he jumped up with Jack to help her up, picking up her books as he did. "You okay?" he asked, giving her a look over. Hopefully she'd dry out before class was over and they'd have to go out into the winter chill again.

It was ironic that even if it was day and it was Astronomy class, Charlie was tired as heck. She trudged around and by the hut, her eyes half closed. One could see that she had spent an uneasy night, doing some unnecessary thinking and studying. "Merlin, kill me now! Lemme rest my bones." She only regarded Ash's spill lightly. "Careful with the... yeah..." Now to find a place to sleep...

Solis raised an eyebrow at her seemingly tired and exhausted students. The project that she had been planning to do could not be done at midnight. It was a beautiful afternoon, and her students were still tired. She shook her head and tried to forget about it. She was rather pleased to see some of her students accept her hot chocolate. She beamed at them, until Thornton came.
That kid always has a reason to complain. Solis thought bitterly to herself. When Xin fell over, Solis abruptly got up of her seat. It had taken a lot of self-control to stop herself from laughing. However, Drew and Jack seemed to have the situation under control. Solis had to award Drew’s citizenship for actually helping Ash though. “5 points to Ravenclaw for being so helpful, Mr. Thornton,” she said to him, slightly hesitantly. Solis valued students helping each other out— showing support during a time like this was crucial. But there was just something about Thornton that she just didn’t like…

Drew narrowed his eyes at the woman, wondering what she was up to. She had to be up to something. She had pointed him out when Jack had been right there as well. Besides, who gave points for helping a house mate. Yeah, she was up to something.
He turned to Jack and smiled apologetically, not sure if the younger boy woulod hold the slight against him. He wasn't going to fight the points though. With Solis in charge of him for the next hour, he needed all the help he could get.
And he definitely wasn't touching the chocolate now.

Pat had been waiting for an answer when Ash had entered, waving at him and Drew; Pat was in mid-wave back when she had taken her fall. He also got to his feet, but it seemed her fellow Ravens had been a little quicker on their feet; Jack was already set to help her up, and Drew had taken her books from the ground. Pat wasn't sure what else he'd be able to do that he could help.
Pat's gaze shifted over to Charlie for a second as she entered the hut, but he turned his attention back to the drink-covered Ravenclaw. "Alright, Ash?" he asked. Pretty much the same question Drew and Jack had both already asked her, but Pat still asked it. Force of habit perhaps, but oh well, he couldn't help but ask.

"AAAAAAAAAAYE ASH!" Ivy came running down from the other end of the grounds and rushed over to her little sister. "Oh my gah! I saw everything!" she pushed Drew and Pat away and bent down over her sister. Putting her hands on Ash's shoulders, she shook her. "Are you okay? It's okay, it's okay! I saw everything!" she shot a glare at Pat, Drew and Jack.
From what where she was standing, it looked like Drew, Pat or Jack pulled her onto them or something. "Pat! I thought you were a gentleman!" She hugged Ash tightly, trying to protect her from the savage men boys. "It's okay Ash, I'm here-- I won't let them do anything to you,"
