Rachel was happy to be back in her trusty classroom. Thanks to the horrible outbreak of Dragon Pox, Rachel had been infected with the disease, and she couldn't teach. She hadn't been infected too badly, she had noticed it within three weeks, and although the symptoms weren't that great, she was glad that she hadn't turned green. That would have been the icing on the cake, but Rachel was more than happy have left that part out. She felt horrible, lazy, and sick, as she was confined to her office for a while. She hated spending time like that in doors, but if she was going to risk otherpeople's health by going outside, then she was willing to stay.
Having planned her lesson properly in the time that she had off, Rachel was compeletly ready to teach the fourth and fifth years. She had nothing else to do, so she may as well have done that. They were going to be studying the constellation Orion, and that was a pretty basic lesson. Rachel hoped that they all brought their 'presents' with them, as she wasn't going to supply them with another one, and not bringing it was something that required a detention. She hadn't set any homework in the previous lesson, so that was basically all she wanted them to bring.
Sitting down at her desk, Rachel magically opened the door, and moved the text books that sat in front of her to the side. They would be looking out of these, but Rachel didn't have tohand them out just yet. There was no more seating plan, so she wanted to know where everyone was going to sit before handed them out. Opening one of them to the page that they were going to be studying, Rachel buried her nose in the middle, hoping to catch a last minute revision. The students had to arrive soon, it was almost midnight.

Despite the fact that Matty enjoyed Astronomy, she did not enjoy the fact that the lessons commenced at late hours of the night. Especially when it was cold, dark and she was just recovering from the Pox. The dreadful virus had made classes allot harder to concentrate, considering she had a mild rash, coughing fits and quite bad headaches and dizzy spells. She had coped for the last couple of months, when her illness was at it's peak, and now it was starting to die down. Though, the fact that she still had to get up sometime before midnight and get up to the Astronomy room wasn't something she was looking forward to.
But, it had to be done. She had the OWL syllabus to learn. Matty finished off any urgent homework before dinner, and after wards, she slept. The girl didn't both to change out of her uniform, so that when she woke it wouldn't be of much hassle. Matty set her alarm for 11:30, and was woken by the constant beeping at that exact time. The stumbled out of bed, before adjusting her tie, shirt, v-neck sweater and skirt. The girl didn't make much effort to fix her hair, which had a gold ribbon tied as a headband, and was left wavy though nice. Before she left the Common Room, Matty slipped on her black flats, grabbed her bag and put on her black double-breast coat, tying up the front.
The teenager groggily made her way up the various floors to the Astronomy tower, dragging herself through the final stretch. As she entered through the doorway, the Hufflepuff was both disappointed and relieved that no one was there. Em or Tianne both weren't there yet, which was kind of a shame, but at least the girl could rest for a little. She mustered up a small smile to the Professor 'kind' Kingsley, as she had given her the nick name. Really, she was one of the Professors that Matty liked having lessons with. But not at ten to midnight. The girl walked to the very back of the room, having noticed the sign outside the door telling them the seats were no longer assigned, and took a table at the middle in the back row. She pulled out her gear, before folding her arms and resting her head on them, eyes closed, but not yet asleep.

Ah, time for the lovely class of Astronomy. Emeric was sure that he would find it even more lovely if it wasn't being held at midnight. Students needed their sleep and Em wasn't opposed to just learning out of the book. He trudged up the stairs, eight flights to be exact, and paused just before entering the room. He fixed his tie, flattened down his hair and checked his overall appearance. Once he looked less sleepy and more on the ' awake ' side of things, he walked into the classroom. On his first survey of the classroom he almost overlooked Matty who was sitting at her desk with her head down. She looked almost asleep, and Em walked quietly over to the girl. Just as he took a seat next to her, he poked her lightly in the side with a greeting of, " Not sleeping are we? " His voice was slightly quiet and joking as he uttered these words to the fifth year.
With the seat plan thrown out the window, Emeric was free to sit where he pleased. He reminded himself about the ' not being obvious in front of other people ' part of things but found that sitting next to Matty wouldn't be too obvious to anyone. They had sat by one another in classes before anything had actually started between the two of them, so it wasn't like a new thing. Plus none of his other friends were in the classroom, Jax, Tal or even Lianna, a quiet Hufflepuff whom he dared to call friend. None of Matty's friends were around either, so Em felt relaxed in the atmosphere of the astronomy classroom.

Matty was oblivious to the fact that anyone else had even entered the classroom, let alone Emeric. The fifth year's hair fell across her cheek slightly, as the teenager continued to search for some sleep that she obviously wasn't going to get. Hardly a minute after she had seated herself, the girl felt a little poke in her side, and she automatically pushed the hand away, letting her fingers linger without a thought of who it might be. She returned her hand to under her head, when the words reached her head. "Not sleeping are we?" Matty mumbled something along the lines of 'hmm, what?' before opening her eyes, to find the face of the Slytherin boy across from her. "I might've been, no thanks to you, Em." she mumbled, smiling faintly. She couldn't have gotten mad at him, especially when he was joking around with her. The girl lifted her head for a while when he spoke to him. "I'm glad to see you're awake and dandy." Matty stated, a dopey smile still on her face as she rested her head back down again, her green eyes looking at Emeric though.

As Em's poking hand was swatted away by Mattys, his other set his black back pack down underneath his desk and out of the way. He threw a glance up at Professor Kinsley, who had her nose stuck into one of the text books and didn't appear to be paying the least bit of attention to the fourth and fifth year's antics. Not that Matty was in much of a state to be pulling off any stunts, but still, the Professor wasn't paying any attention to them that Em noticed. He looked back to Matty as she responded to him. ' I might've been, no thanks to you, Em. ' He grinned in a silly manner, saying, " Well, lesson time is no time to sleep. "
He smiled as she lifted her head, Em leaned on the desk with his elbow, his chin resting lightly onto his hand. " Awake and dandy? Certainly. I don't look as cute as you do when I'm tired. " He confided to her with a grin. It was okay to flirt and tease now, no one was around and no one was paying attention to them. She was rather adorable in her sleepy and groggy state.

The teenager's eyes glanced around for a few seconds, checking that there wasn't actually anyone else in the room yet. She was actually happy about this, for that meant that she could let her guard down around Em for a bit. Sure, Professor Kingsley was there, but she was buried in her book, as both students had observed. Besides, even if the women was there, the two were at the back of the room, and their voices were kept to a soft manor. Once the girl looked back to the Slytherin, noticing his grin. "Well midnight is no time for a lesson, I should be sleeping now." Matty argued, however still in a playful state. She usually didn't mind Astronomy all that much, but just not tonight.
"Awake and dandy? Certainly. I don't look as cute as you do when I'm tired." The Hufflepuff let out a soft laugh at this. Had she not been so relaxed, the girl might have even blushed. "Aw, well you look handsome all the time, so I guess that makes up for it." Matty thought Em was gorgeous all the time, actually. Anyone was yet to prove her wrong on that thought.

It was plain to see that Beau was awake and ready to learn. In fact, his being so awake was down right infuriating to his sister and she didn't forget to remind him every step of the way from the Ravenclaw tower to the Astronomy tower. Beau only grinned, knowing that she just wouldn't understand. The reason he was so awake, and a little bit jumpy as well, was because he had stayed up the entire night studying and eating candy. Studying could have put him to sleep easily, but the candy was what kept him ready to run a 5k race, or go swimming in the lake even though it was still cold. Chocolate, fizzing whizbees, fudge, all sorts of sweets from the last visit to Hogsmeade, it was all gone by now. It was a miracle Beau was as in shape as he was with the amount of candy he had just consumed.
" I wonder what this lesson is on, I hope it's interesting. Think Autumn's here yet? You look like you're about to fall asleep. Sure you're okay? Watch your step. Don't fall, here we are, Astronomy! " Beau was very, very wired, jingling the change in his pocket, tapping his fingers on the desk, tapping his feet on the ground, he couldn't stop moving at all. " Hello Professor Kinsley, you look ready to teach I must say. " He said with a pleased smile as he noticed the woman at the front of the room, placing his back pack on his desk and rummaging through it for his wand. It was... somewhere.

" I'm going to kill you if you don't shut up. " Ellie growled to her brother, giving him a look that could kill. Of course this only made him laugh at her, which was that much more infuriating. " I don't know where Autumn is, I won't fall and I swear, if you keep this up Beau I'm sending you a howler tomorrow in your dorm at three a.m. just to wake you up. " She was in a mood, mostly because she had been trying to read, fallen asleep, and had managed to wake up ten minutes later than she should have to get ready for class. Her hair was swept up into a slightly messy bun as she hadn't had time to do much of anything else before setting out for the class with her twin.
Ellie was glad when Beau turned his attention to Professor Kinsley instead of her, his tireless mouth kept on talking and she was sincerely glad she didn't have to be the one listening to him anymore. She slid into her seat, smiling a small sort of apologetic smile at the Astronomy Professor. You look ready to teach? She rolled her eyes at her brother, wondering where he got this kind of thing from. Of course she should look ready to teach, she was a teacher after all. Ell leaned forward slightly in her seat, resting her arms against her back pack, and her head against her arms. As her brother extracted his wand from his own back pack she looked at him with tired eyes. " Maybe you shouldn't be doing magic now... " She suggested lightly to him, knowing he wouldn't listen.

Whoever thought of this class should be hexed to death. Yes, Astronomy is very important for young witches and wizards to learn about but having it at midnight! That was just downright evil! Groaning as she pulled herself out of bed, Tallulah threw on her uniform and walked out of her dorm. She pulled her hair into a messy bun, not caring how she looked at the moment. It was late and she was tired. This was not her night what so ever.
It took her the better part of twenty minutes to climb the stairs to get to the Astronomy Tower. With another grunt she walked to the classroom. Her eyes caught the two twins in front of her. She stifled a yawn as the boy was blabbering about something. It was like he was supercharged with some sort of energy. Tallulah wanted to make him stop, he was giving her a headache. As she got closer to them she feigned hitting the boy in the head, letting out some of her anger.
Once they entered the classroom she was free to move away as fast as possible from the irritating boy. She did just that. Moving away as fast as possible she walked to the other side of the room and flung herself into a desk. Using her arms as a shield she covered her eyes and waited for this class to end.

Rachel found the reactions to the midnight lesson rather funny, they varied so little. Everyone was tired, everyone was fed up, and everyone didn't want to be there. The woman got used to the little enthusiasm that she recieved from the children, but there was always that little feeling of sadness, that there was no one there bright enough to lighten the room. No one really shared that sort of passion that Rachel had, but that was okay. She liked teaching the subject, and it was all completely worth it when she got to.
Smiling at Miss Wentworth as she entered the room, rather tired, natrually, Rachel was surprised to see the next person enter the room. A Mr. Emeric Troy, is Rachel Kinsley was correct, and he seemed to be rather awake. Giving him a small wink, Rachel watched for the next people to enter the room. "Oh. can't wait." She grinned, in a rather unenthusiastic voice. She surprised herself, but it was late and she didn't know who she was. "Good Morning, Mr and Miss Hopkins." Rachel grinned hoping she didn't sound like she was calling them a married couple. "Miss. Skeffington." She nodded, before standing up and wandering into the middle of the classroom.
"Today, we will be studying the constellation Orion. Does everyone have their telescopes?" Rachel asked the class, flicking her wand at the box of telescopes that she had.
