The halls were quiet, the only sound echoing were footsteps walking through the darkness. Josh York strolled along, enjoying the peace and quiet. He liked being alone and this journey was definitely solitary. Josh had no particular destination in mind; all he wanted to do was wander, and wander, he did. His feet took him in the direction of the seventh floor, and the Room of Requirement. Josh didn’t argue with where his body wanted to go and he hummed a soft tune to himself. As he reached the floor, Josh performed the simple task of locating the Room of Requirement and thought about what it was that he wanted; a piano.
Josh sat down in the wooden bench, his fingers lightly running his fingers over the old keys, yellowed with age. He pressed down on the F key, listening to the sound echo around the dark, empty room. Josh glanced around quickly, knowing there was no one else there. He really didn’t feel comfortable with people listening to him play. Josh knew he could play well, but he would never admit it to anyone. Knowing he was alone, Josh turned his attention back to the keys and closed his eyes, letting the melody he had been humming a moment ago drift back into his mind. It was one he had just come up with when he had been fooling around a couple days before, just mashing notes together. Josh hummed the tune out loud again, his fingers sliding gracefully along the notes as the song vibrated throughout the room.

It was nearly two hours before curfew and Felicity was in no rush to make it back the common room. She had first shift of strolling that night, not something she was happy about, but at least she didn't have to get up in the middle of the night to look around the castle. While she wasn't fond of being a Prefect and definitely not fond of being out, walking the castle in the near dark, she had grown accustomed to the silence it provided for her to think. There were a number of things to be thought over, such as what she wanted to do after she left Hogwarts. It was almost set in her mind and she was going to go through with it upon approval from Drew and her family.
And there was Drew, someone constantly on her mind. Knowing someone loved her and knowing she loved them back was a wonderful feeling and it left her all warm inside, but still nothing compared to how she felt after spending time with the boy, even when they fought she liked him. The way he made her feel, special, was the best feeling in ever.
On the seventh floor, traveling toward the Gryffindor common rooms so she could drop off her bag, Felicity was slightly startled to hear rather beautiful notes coming from down the hall. There'd been once before when she'd heard music on this particular floor, and it had been Celina and Arianna playing together, she wondered if Celina had managed to take the room again.
Going down the hall, she saw a door, shut but not latched. It was the door to the room Celina had preformed a spell on her in, the very room where she and Drew had gone before so he could help her with her wandwork, and it was the room where a few other things had taken place. Pushing the door open quietly, as she didn't want to disturb her friend (believing no one else could make such beautiful music), Felicity was surprised to find no light (or very dim lighting) but could hear music. Immediately her feet made her back out. Darkness wasn't something she was keen on, not being able to see, not being able to think of the light spell off the top of her head.
And while she hoped she wouldn't be seen, she didn't take into account the fact that the corridor provided very dim lighting of its own from the torches that lit the castle corridors by night.

Josh continued to play the soft tune, not hearing that he had been joined by another. His fingers worked slowly, his eyes shut as he played. The words to the song finally drifted into Josh's memory and, thinking he was along, he began to sing.
I love the time and in between...the calm inside me In the space where I can breathe...I believe There is a distance I have wandered To touch upon the years... And reaching out and reaching in Holding out holding in
The Hufflepuff sang softly, not too loud even though he did have a rather good voice. He knew if he was too loud, there was a chance someone might actually hear him. With a slight sigh, Josh continued.
I believe this is heaven To no one else but me And I'll defend it long as I can be left here to linger in silence If I choose to Would you try to Understand
[song is called Elsewhere by Bethany Joy Galeotti]

She needed to get away. Whoever was in the room most definitely was not Celina, the voice was a dead giveaway in that matter. While it was soft and endearing Felicity had all ready had two rather unamusing run-ins that year; the first hadn't turned out well at all, though the second didn't seem to be so bad. However, Griffiths still wasn't someone she ever wanted to be stuck in a room with again. Since her detention with the man where he frightened her accidentally and then both Drew and Alfonz interrupted and Drew forced her out, she hadn't returned.
Looking over her shoulder to ensure no one was following her, Felicity started off down the corridor, unaware of the sudden appearance of a suit of armour just before her. It actually looked like one of the ones that had followed her around after January, but all the same, the blonde crashed right into it, making it and herself topple over together onto the cold stone floor.
Please don't have let anyone of heard that.

Oh the quiet child... Awaits the day when she can break free The mold that clings like desperation Oh mother don't you see I've got To live my life the way I feel is right for me You say its not right for you But it's right for--
A huge crash from just outside the room snapped Josh out of his own little world. He yelped and jumped out of his seat, knocking the little bench over in the process. Josh bent over and picked it up quickly, looking around to see where the noise had come from. He didn't see anything in the room, so the boy crept slowly to the door and poked his head out, hoping whoever made the noise hadn't heard him playing and singing. Down the corridor, Josh noticed a suit of armour that was rearranging itself and a blonde girl on the floor.
Josh's feet moved quickly and in a few moments, the boy was standing over the girl that had fallen. He bent down next to her, holding his hand out. "Are you alright?" Josh asked her concerned, assuming the armour had something to do with her being on the floor.

Landing on the cold stone floors with a suit of armour wasn't as romantic as it sounded, nor was it very comfortable. Maybe way back when suits of armour were in it was the most romantic of things, but at that moment, it was one of the more horrifying. The feel of the suit beneath her, and she was sure that its leg could've crushed hers had it leaned into her any more than it all ready had.
But her mind was elsewhere, trying to scramble to her feet so she could run far away, however, it was proving to be difficult when the armour wasn't moving too fast to help her out any.
While she was moving about she never noticed the exiting of the boy from the room, nor did she notice his presence until he spoke and her eyes opened to see just how close to her he was. That was a mistake, as soon as she saw the boy, no matter how nice he sounded, Felicity started pulling away, trying her best to get further away from him, finding it difficult to manage when the armour wasn't doing more than stopping her from doing so.
"I'm fine." Her voice was frightened, how much could people frighten her this term? Was that the game everyone was playing on her?

"Are you sure?" Josh asked, his tone more concerned now that she sounded so frightened. He saw her try to wriggle away from him, like he was going to hurt her. He frowned slightly, his brow furrowing in question. If Josh had wanted to hurt her, he wouldn't have offered to help. "Here," he offered, moving his feet to make his stance more sturdy to help lift her up, "It's okay. Let me help you." His hand touched hers softly, wanting her to let him help.

"Yes," she answered determindly. As far as she was concerned, with as many falls as she took a week, this was nothing. How many times had she tripped over armour the previous spring when they followed her everywhere she went? She swore somebody sent them to watch her every move, and while they were nice to have around, she felt a little bit creeped out by the fact they followed her so closely and carefully. But why had one snuck up on her then?
When he moved closer and actually touched her, she cringed. He hadn't hurt her, but she didn't want him touching her either. Normally she was fine with giving hugs to random people, but at the same time, she couldn't help but not want his hands on her and truthfully, she wished someone else would come out of somewhere and stop him from getting any closer. She could just haul off and hit him, she'd hit boys before, but he wasn't hurting her nor was he doing anything wrong.
"Please don't..." she nearly pleaded quietly, her eyes not leaving his hand.

The concern was growing in Josh, but he quickly pulled his hand back and moved away from the girl when he picked up on the tone of her pleading voice. She seemed so scared and Josh couldn't understand why. Hadn't she just fallen into the suit of armour? Or...had someone else been there that ran off before Josh had come out of the room? "I'm sorry," Josh apologized quickly, his face flushing a violent shade of pink, "I'm...I'm so sorry, I...I didn't mean to hurt you or anything."

He pulled away, just like she hoped he would and she crowded back into the suit of armour which wasn't moving at all now that it was standing properly behind her. Why would it move and then suddenly stop? It was ridiculous, but it wasn't laughing so the blonde knew Peeves wasn't inside.
"You didn't--" Felicity cut herself off, listening to the boy. "You didn't hurt me." Managing to get onto her own two feet, she backed right into the armour as far as she could get, holding her arms over her middle, not in any stance to run or use her wand if she needed to. What a great Prefect she was making...
"I just, I-I don't li-like peop-people touch-touching m-me." Which wasn't true at all and she was sure with how much she had to stutter to say that and the fact she couldn't even look at the boy to say it, he'd see right through that. She loved hugging random strangers sometimes, but when she was scared, she just didn't want anyone but those she knew to touch her. Celina, Drew, Alexander, or Corey, sometimes others if no one else was around, but preferrably just them.

Josh watched helplessly as the girl scrambled to her feet and backed away from him as quickly as she could. He was now extremely concerned, but he stayed where he was. Josh absolutely hated seeing other people scared or upset and he always wanted to help. But the girl had made it very clear that he should just stay where he was and not get any closer.
Josh rose slowly to his feet and stayed back.
"I just, I-I don't li-like peop-people touch-touching m-me."
A very worried frown creased the Hufflepuff boy's forehead, but he still stayed back. "I'm really sorry," Josh apologized again, his face flaring up once more, "I...I didn't know. I'm so sorry."

Light brown eyes watched as the boy moved, hoping he didn't come toward her anymore. Why was Raynor bringing in people to bother her so much? First the History of Magic Professor, then the Caretaker (who didn't turn out to be so bad after all), and now another? And making her Prefect on top of it all and requiring her to see these people and deal with them? Ugh! It was extremely frustrating and she really just didn't understand why.
Shrugging uncomfortably, Felicity didn't know what to say back. Why was he playing an instrument in the dark? Most people required light, but...she didn't really know. Felicity had no idea how to play any instruments, she could sing according to a lot of people, but she didn't really know about that either.
"You wouldn't have known..." she trailed off, answering him. How could he know when they didn't know one another?
