2nd Week of Dragon Pox
Wednesday 3rd of December
4:30pm
Why did she have Dragon Pox? Why, in the name of Merlin, had Matty Wentworth caught this dreaded illness, and in the Winter Holidays? Lets just say the teenager wasn't ecstatic about the news when her school nurse had diagnosed her with the virus. The Hufflepuff teenager didn't know who exactly she had caught it from, but the girl was aware that more than a couple of other students had it. Over the past two weeks, the teenager had experiences coughing fits and dizzy spells or headaches. But recently, over the past couple of days, the girl had developed an itchy red rash over her stomach. It wasn't too bad, but it was irritating. Soon after realising she had the illness, owls were released to everyone's parents, explaining the matter that many students were put off about.
And so it began. Matty observed many other students with the same symptoms as herself. Others worse, and some not as. But all the same, there were many who were suffering from Dragon Pox, as it was, an epidemic growing. The girl was reduced to staying indoors allot of the time, which practically sent her into a spiral of sleeping allot. However, one Wednesday afternoon, the Hufflepuff decided to break her habit of going to classes, doing homework, sleeping, eating, then sleeping again.
Matty remained in her school robes, consisting of black ballet flats with a thin buckle, charcoal stockings, gray pleated skirt, white shirt, her school tie, and a gray V-neck sweater. The teenagers layers hair was left wavy, but a red and white stylish bandanna was placed under her fringe, tied up at the back of her neck, under all the layers. The student held a hand over her mouth as she coughed slightly, whilst walking up the stairs that led to the Seventh Floor. It had been a while since the Wentworth girl had been to the Room of Requirement, for she hadn't needed it lately. The last time she had been here was for her birthday in October. As the teenager found the place, she strolled past it, thinking "I need a place to develop my photographs.". As she passed by the section three times, Matty fiddled with the seashell necklace, given to her by Leto last year. Eventually, a large wooden door appeared, and Matty slipped through.
Of course, everything was catered for. The room had large benches with filtering equipments, barrels of liquids and such, and all the necessary things to develop her film. Matty had received a magical camera for her birthday, and so she had finished up the film within a couple of months, and now was the time to find out how her pictures had developed. The teenager had gotten the potion she needed from her Potions Mistress, also being her Head of House, and it was safely bottled in her backpack. Matty placed her bag on the bench, before walking around behind it. She pulled out the camera and the potion, before pouring the simmering liquid into a glass beaker. Matty sighed slightly, reaching a hand to her forehead. The headaches always seemed to be constant. The Hufflepuff groaned slightly, before pulling up a chair and rested her elbows on the bench, her head in her heads. Maybe she just needed a minute.
