OOC: Open for anyone! ;D
Hoping her Dad and Grandparents wouldn't be too upset at how late her letters were arriving, Michea folded the them carefully and gave each of them to an owl. The birds took off after she gave them the addresses. She watched them fly away, wondering at how mail by owl could be so efficient. There was no doubting it was. Letters seemed to arrive at their destinations much sooner than one had any right to expect an owl to fly. Michea wondered what sort of magic was involved in it as she watched the two owls diminish into tiny specks and finally vanish from sight, too far away to see.
It was much better to concentrate on the mysteries of owl mail than to think about how much she missed her grandparents and the only home she'd ever known. She loved her father too, of course, but she'd grown up with him mostly away and so the seperation was normal to her. Not so with her grandparents, whom she'd lived with all her life.
Hi Dad,
Just writing to let you know I've arrived safe and sound at Hogwarts. So far, it's been very interesting. You didn't warn me about the ceiling! I'm sure I looked silly staring at it with my mouth hanging open, but ah well. There are worse things I guess. I can't think of anything at the moment, but I'm tired. It has really been a long day.
I'll write more later, when I've more to write and I'm not exhausted.
Love you,
Michea
Hi Grandpa and Grandma,
Just a quick note for now to let you know that I've arrived at Hogwarts. I came by train and let me tell you, train travel is really highly overrated. I'm exhausted. That's why this is just going to be a really short note. I'll write more next time, promise.
Love you, miss you,
Mikey
P.S. Dad is mean! There's this amazing ceiling in the Great Hall, it looks exactly like the sky. Like there's no ceiling at all. It's the most incredible thing I've seen (so far, something tells me I'll be seeing even more incredible things from now on!) and that's including the paintings that move. I already wrote you about that when I arrived at Dad's house in London. Crazy! But, the point is, he didn't warn me about it so I stood there staring up with my mouth hanging open gawking at it like a crazy person. Mean I tell you!
