So, this wasn't where she should have been, either still in the den or down in the Great Hall for an early morning breakfast, but it was where she could be found. Felicity'd never really been any good with mapping and navigating, a reason she suspected why she'd managed to gracefully fail the Astronomy OWL. That and her mum never really coached her in lessons of the sky, that was her father's expertise, but she'd still missed one too many questions on the examination to be able to take the class at the NEWTs level at Hogwarts.
Laying with her back flat on the floor, she stared up at the breaking dawn covered ceiling, letting her mind wander into depths unknown to even the blonde. Her morning run had been more than invigorating, finding that she hadn't pushed herself enough during it. Her mind was too full to go down to breakfast, an old nightmare waking her earlier than usual giving her the darkness to run in. That might have been the reason she had so many thoughts still lodged in her mind, when she was blinded with shadows, her thoughts didn't wash over her as usual, instead the Gryffindor focused on the sounds until she could identify them.
Having raced back to the Gryffindor Tower after her run, she showered and took off to find the Astronomy Tower. It was easy enough to get into, and she was glad she tried. The sky was beautiful this early and she hadn't wanted to miss it. While she sometimes sneaked out of windows to sit precariously elsewhere, she'd experienced enough of others nearly toppling out of the windows to last her a lifetime and chose to watch from the safety of a classroom.
It wasn't like it was off-limits.

Delilah had been furious as of late. No one really knew why, and she wasn't too keen on saying what was wrong. She was depressed, and a little too focused on her studies for someone who claimed to be laid back. Between not being able to sleep, and asking Connor to take on more Head Boy duties so she could try and piece her life together, she felt like a wreck, and it was a little more than impossible to try and find piece any more. She told herself she had to get her Astronomy project completed for today's class... well, this morning. At least that's what she told herself. She was happy that the Professor had granted her permission to be in here today, but she really couldn't bring herself to do the task before her. She was screwed. Royally.
The small girl had read the same sentence at least more than three times before realizing that there was no way that this thing was getting done. She sighed where she was seated cross-legged, and slammed her book shut, placing her elbow on her knee, a heavy head on her curled up hand. She wondered if she would even graduate this year at the rate she was going. Astronomy was her second favorite subject, but the grades she was getting now couldn't attest to that.
It was then that she heard someone else come in. Delilah got up quietly, she had obviously forgotten to shut the door. She wiped at the tears that managed to escape and watched carefully as a distinct blonde girl entered the room. Felicity... What was she doing here?
It didn't take D long to realize that she was just there to watch the sun rising, and as much as she wanted to be a Slytherin at the moment, especially to Felicity, she just couldn't bring herself up to it because one, she dind't have a spot of energy left in her, two she had her own problems to deal with, and three it simply wouldn't be worth it this early in the morning to pick a fight. It would sour the rest of her day.
Delilah would simply turn around and sit right back down and wait until the stupid blonde went away, surely something as beautiful as the sunrise could keep her attention span for long. The small Head Girl turned around then and hadn't even taken a couple of steps before kicking one of the telescopes that the professor had one the second level of the Astronomy room. "Shit!" Delilah said outloud, grabbing onto her foot and hoping around like a fool.
Leave it to her to ruin everything.

Oblivious to all else in her surroundings, the blonde stared off into the sky, allowing her thoughts to all rush into focus. There were the good thoughts, about how this was her last year at Hogwarts and she was going to be more free to see Drew when it was all over with; the thoughts about how she was planning to get away, far from everything, including Drew at the end of the school year; thoughts she wanted to suppress into the farthest depths of her mind, the very thoughts Henry had made surface not long ago; thoughts and concerns about her bestie Celina, not having heard from the girl in ages, wondering what had happened, why she'd left so suddenly with no warnings. And at that, where'd Alfonz go? If only he'd lasted a bit longer, maybe she could've talked to him, found out more about why Celina disappeared, though most conversations with him made her head spin and she wasn't too sure she liked being in close company with him too much.
It seemed like nothing would be able to bring her from questions that plagued her mind, except perhaps the voice of the Astronomy Professor when it was time for classes to begin. But hearing a rather close and loud scraping noises, the blonde sat up and turned quickly to face the intruder to her thoughts.
...
...
...
"You shouldn't swear."
Of all the people in the school, it seemed this Head Girl would be the only one rude enough to interrupt anything she could be doing. Connor was usually cautious, Henry well...she wasn't sure at the moment, and so many others would've left her alone. But no...this girl had to go and make likely the loudest of noises possible, swear on top of it, and bother her.

Delilah let go of her foot, setting it back down on the floor, testing it carefully. It didn't roll under her, so it appeared to be alright. The small girl looked up to where the sound of someone's voice was comming from and couldn't help but sneer. She stood up a little taller and held onto the table before her, looking down at Felicity, deciding not to say anything at all. This girl wasn't worth her breath.
The Slytherin walked back to where she had all of her Astronomy homework, and gathered it all up, placing it in her bottomless bag before throwing the bag over her shoulder and walking down the stairs towards the exit. She wasn't going to say it outloud, but she'd been here before Felicity was, and if anyone was being interupted, it was her. Delilah wasn't sure what she did to get a lecture so early in the morning anyways, especially since she'd hit her toe pretty hard, but apparently some people don't think before they speak.
Delilah readjusted the necklace Jason's grandfather had given her and didn't make eye contact with Felicity, she wanted nothing more than to get out because she knew her and the blonde didn't exactly see eye to eye, and she wasn't in the mood for picking a fight.
She had things to do, people to see, and Felicity wasn't one of them. At least that's what she told herself, crying in her dorm seemed more likely.

Shrugging, Felicity stared up at the sky, not sure if she should care or not. Usually she got along just fine with people, even if she didn't particularly care for them. But lately, with Henry and Delilah, well, things weren't all that usual. Then again, she'd had problems with Henry for a while, and Delilah long enough. But, at least she knew what her problems with Henry were, what was wrong with Delilah. For one, she was a bit snobby; two, she stuck her nose in the air far too much for the blonde's liking; and three...she was always in a poor mood. Didn't the sun ever shine down on her?
If the girl wanted to leave, Felicity supposed she couldn't really stop her, not that she wanted to either. It was just, she hadn't realized the Slytherin was even there and there hadn't been any troubles until she moved from wherever she'd been hiding. However, knowing she had her reasons for being there, she wondered just why the Head Girl was hiding in the tower. What was so horrible in her life that she was so sulky all the time?
Trying to ignore the sound of the other girl's retreating feet, Felicity gave into a frustrated sigh. It wasn't working.
"Wait, Delilah!" the Gryffindor called out as she rolled to her side. "If it's really that bad to be in the same room, I'll leave. I can find somewhere else to be." The grounds would be dewey, but she'd put up with worse before. Standing, she quickly stretched and made for the same exit the more petite girl was headed toward.

Delilah wasn't really expecting Felicity to open her mouth and talk. She wasn't particularily up for talking to her. Delilah could get along with everyone, everyone except her. All she could remember was her first encounter with Felicity, and how unpleasant it was. Besides, Felicity had made it pretty clear to Delilah that she didn't care for her, why was she trying to pry into her life now. Delilah stopped in her tracks to look at Felicity, feeling the weight of the over-stuffed bag on her shoulders, and the tears forming in her eyes already. She really couldn't help it as of late, she really should have been in her dorm trying to take it easy, but she was being to stubborn for her own good. Anyone else would have taken a week or more off from life if their father died. The small girl simply stared at the blonde that was now by her side, because apparently she was going to leave as well. "I was only here to do homework..." Delilah said quietly. She had fallen so far behind, there really was no point in being in class when everything went over your head. "You can do what you need to do." Delilah added, side stepping the blonde as her tears spilled over. Now Delilah was confused, why had Felicity even bothered to speak? She could see Delilah was leaving, she could have had the room to herself.

Raising a lightly coloured eyebrow, Felicity just stared at the petite girl. Why was she crying over a room? Well, she wasn't exactly crying, but she sure was tearing up over nothing. The blonde was beginning to think Delilah needed some serious help with her mood swings or something. As far as she was concerned, the girl could have the room, especially since homework usually beat out staring off into space. There was plenty of places she could do that, and far too many spots full of memories with Drew to choose just one. The only time she and Drew had spent in the Astronomy Tower together was for class once, and it wasn't the most pleasurable experience.
"Then stay and finish it," she shrugged in response. "I was only here to..." she trailed off, not really wanting to state exactly why, but knew she had to say something. "think, it's not like there aren't other places I can do that." But as the girl took another advance toward the exit, Felicity really started bugging. Exactly why was she crying? She could have the stupid room, she didn't need to start crying over it.
"Are you all right?" The question slipped out of her mouth before she could just ignore the girl.

Delilah nodded vigorously, "Yes yes, I'm alright." She said, wiping at her tears, and waving her free hand around the room, "It's not this..." She said, looking at the girl earnestly, "and... it's not you. I just have some things going on that won't leave my mind." Delilah said honestly, not looking for a fight, not thinking Felicity was prying, she was just trying to be honest with herself, and also with Felicity.
She didn't expect to ever be friends with the Gryffindor, but she had had a best friend in Gryffindor once, she loved her spunkiness and sense of style, something Delilah wasn't used to in her stuck up, snobby home. Although she never liked being that way, sometimes when people feel attacked, they react in a way they've been taught to react, and often Delilah's defense was hurting others, something her mother had taught her very well.
This was yet another reason why D was going to miss her Hufflepuff father so much. He was the exact opposite of her mother and he always told her to see the best in others, and just because she was in Slytherin, didn't mean she had to be such a snake. Delilah wasn't exactly herself though, especially since the person who had taught her these lessons, was permanently gone from her life.
Delilah pulled her bag up to her shoulder, it was constantly slipping. She forced a smile at Felicity and pushed through the door way, heading straight for her dormitory.

Letting her head roll back and come down for one nod, Felicity didn't particularly care. She had her own things on her mind to worry herself about, but even if they were rather important issues to be worried of (such as that of her mum), there were also other things she preferred to think of that made her smile. And playing with Sammy was always sure to put a smile on her face. That little squirrel was amazingly enthusiastic and energetic. If only she could find that bouncy ball again, he'd had a great ball with that until it came up missing from the girls dormitory.
As the Head Girl pushed on by Felicity, she just shrugged her shoulders and followed the girl out. Still without a watch, she hadn't a clue the actual time and couldn't tell by looking at the sun. Likely, if she were lucky, she'd find something to do while waiting for the toll of the school bell to ring in warning that classes were to begin. If Delilah was leaving the room, she supposed she could still stay, but her mood was beginning to damper and the sun wasn't all too interesting anymore. Actually, maybe she'd find Sammy and wake him for a game of something. He was usually up for it.
