Jeanette straitened her papers, and slid them off her glass topped desk into her open briefcase; She picked up her best fountain pen and a blank notebook, and moved toward the glass double-doors of her office. As she stepped outside, her well known tan cloak rippling behind her as she walked, her fine pin stripped tan suit and tan leather boots spotless and pristine.
"My my, aren't we looking stunning?" said Alex as he stepped out of a door carrying some papers that seemed to have his complete attention, save for the moment in which he glanced sideways at Jeanette "Occasion?"
"Interview with the Hogwarts Headmistress." said Jeanette happily, she had been waiting quite awhile to get this interview, and she was happy of the opportunity.
"Finally!?" said Alex in surprise, he didn't usually keep tabs on her schedule, so he was often surprised by new events when he heard "About time."
"Well she's a busy woman." said Jeanette reasonably, stepping into the elevator that would take her down to the tenth floor where there was located the only room in the entire PLPG building out of which, or into which one could apparate. "Can't say I expected to get an appointment the day after, could I?"
"I suppose not." said Alex. "What's the subject incidentally?"
"Well that's for me to know, and you to read." said Jeanette "Isn't it."
Alex half nodded, then shot her a look that said quite clearly: I hate it when you do that.
Jeanette stepped off of the lift with a singularly mischievous smile, and turned toward Room 1091. Without so much as knocking, Jeanette opened the door and entered the large, white walled room. It was rather like standing in one giant light bulb, everything was unnaturally bright; The only exception was the quite bored looking young woman who was sitting behind a reception desk in the corner to the right of the door. Ignoring the girl who was filing her nails with a violently purple nail file, Jeanette walked right into the middle of the room, and, without preamble, turned on her heel.
Instantly, she felt the familiar feeling of being pushed through a very tight rubber tube as she transported instantly from the PLPG building, directly into Hogsmeade. Just as suddenly as it began, the apparation came to an abrupt halt; Jeanette felt her feet hit solid ground, and she looked around. Her aim had been true; Instead of landing in the muddy road, she had landed right on a sidewalk outside of The Three Broomsticks pub.
Not entirely interested in lingering, she made strait up the road toward the school, which, as yet, was still hidden from sight by the trees of the forest. As she rounded the corner, Jeanette laid her eyes on the many turrets and towers of the Legendary Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, it's magnificence enough to awe even the most culture of peoples.
It didn't take long, considering, for Jeanette to cross the ground space between the edge of the village, and the front doors of the school. She mounted the stone steps into the Entrance Hall, and took in the sight of this large room for the first time in ten years. She had, once, visited the school after the end of the second war to speak with the headmistress, but that had been during the days when Minerva McGonagall had been the school's head; Before that, her last visit had been in 1982, the days of the great Albus Dumbledore.
She wasted little time in mounting the marble staircase, pausing only to check the large hourglasses which recorded the house points to see how her old house, Ravenclaw, was doing in the run for the house championship this year.
"Winning." she chuckled to herself, and then she made her way up the stairs.
Considering how very long it had been since she had haunted these halls regularly, Jeanette found her way to the stone gargoyle on the seventh floor with speed and ease; She had to admit to herself, she was surprised when she found herself standing before the large statue. Tamis Raynor had, gracefully, sent the password to the Head's Tower in her return letter to Jeanette's request to interview her, a password she spoke as soon as she realized she was there at last.
No sooner had the word left her mouth, than the large gargoyle sprang to life, jumped aside, and the wall behind it split open to reveal a stone spiral stair revolving upward slowly. She bowed her gratitude to the statue, which did not return the gesture in any way, and stepped onto the staircase, riding her step upward patiently.
At the top of the stairs, Jeanette stepped off, and walked forward, drumming three taps on the large door with the silver griffin knocker affixed to it.
