"Home..." Allegra answered with a small smile and a gentle shrug. "My grandfather died last week. They're waiting on the funeral until Drew and I can get back home. We were his only grandchildren, so they want us there."

Arianna grinned widely and, tipping her hat, bowed to Krissy. Straightening back up, she stuck her arm out for the girl to take and led her into the Great Hall.
"You look absoluty smashing, m'dear," Arianna spoke in a funny high-class British accent. "Would you like to dance first, or should we check out the hors d'oeuvres?"

The smile on his face only showed about 50% of his happiness. " Uh, yeah. " Dan said to Keag as he tore his eyes away from her for a second as he helped put her corsage on her wrist. " Good? " He asked when he was finished and had examined it. " Would you like to go inside now? " Dan then asked, seeing as how they were still in the Corridor. Besides, from the sounds of it the Ball was still in the process of ' getting started '. Keagan laughed inaudibly to herself at the attention Dan was giving to her. She wasn't used to that kind of attention, but she found it amusing all the same. She extended her wrist and looked on with a fond smile when Dan slid the pretty corsage onto her wrist. "Perfect!" she exclaimed, examining it herself from a couple angles as she looked at the flowers in different lights, twisting her wrist slightly left and right. Her smile was showing more of her excitement and happiness than his was, though Keag predicted that there was a lot of it he wasn't letting on. When Dan asked if she would like to go inside, Keagan nodded with slightly less vigor than she actually felt as she was aware of how easily her hair-do could fall to pieces. "Mmhmm," she replied while she nodded. "I'd love to."

Kellen's face fell a little. "Oh, I'm sorry," he said quietly. He wasn't really sure what else to say--he wanted to say something comforting but thought it might come out wrong. "Were you close?" he finally asked.

Krissy giggeled and linked arms with Ari happily, laughing at Ari's english accent. She walked into the great hall with Ari. "I think..." Krissy said in a very bad posh english accent "We should go have a look at the horse-do-overs my darhling" Krissy said realising half way through her sentence she couldn't say that word properly.

Mike walked slowly into the Great Hall, he had been away for too long and the events that happened while he had been away had changed him.
His blonde hair was no more, he had dyed it black, but it still kept its regular spiked up look all though it seemed more wild than usual. He wasn't as happy as he had been before he had left, but that could also be taken to the fact that he should of been mourning his mother's death. But really he didn't care, she had been riding his dad for years, and Mike had known that she had only married him for his money anyway.
As he made his way in, his long black cape swirled in the air behind him, he made a beeline for an empty table and took a seat, keeping his head down, not looking at anyone

Dan laughed softly when Keag began to show off her wrist. He waited until she had replied yes before offering her his arm and saying, " Let's rock 'n roll. " With a joking glance to KEag as he did so. " So, what would you like to do first? " Dan asked her, thinking they could talk to some friends, dance or get something to drink if it suited them.

Brittany caught her breath as she immediately recognized the voice. With a wide grin that seemed to grace her face in the mere milliseconds that he had arrived, she looked radiant. Remembering that she had to breathe, she took a slow intake and let it out. "You look handsome. Glad that you found me cause I was getting worried that I'd have a no-show on my hands." She had been worried but knew that if Sora hadn't showed then he would have had a good reason. Her hand quickly found his as she felt a bit stupid just standing there. The ball was well underway and most people were entering the dance floor now. Looking up at him with her wide chocolate brown eyes she was thinking of two things which was surprising. The first being that she was going to have an amazing time and the other was a lot smaller. But for some reason it was still there. She was partly wondering where Daniel had gone. Sora simply just grinned at her, thumbing her hand with his thumb, "Nah, I wouldn't miss the ball...You really wanted to go and I wouldn't miss it for anything..." he said, smirking a bit now, "Of course...There's nothing wrong with being fashionably late..." He couldn't wipe the grin of his face for some reason. It seemed to be planted there with a Permanent Sticking Charm. It just wouldn't fade away. He move back slightly and gave a deep dramatic bow, "May I have the honour of dancing with thee?" he asked, continuing to grin at her.

Keagan's smile was bright and wide as Dan offered his arm to her and she took it accordingly. After winking in return to his joking grin as they made their way towards the Great Hall, Keagan leaned slightly toward Dan. "I feel like a princess," she confided as they stepped into the highly decorated room. The first sight of the winter wonderland set before her took Keag's breath away. This was truly beautiful. It was at this point that Dan asked her what she would like to do first, and it took her a moment to, first, realize she was being spoken to, and second, to formulate a reply. "Huh?" she began, only to clear her thoughts a second afterward. "Oh. I don't know."
After glancing around the transformed Hall, Keagan didn't notice any of her own friends, except for those among the dancers. That, and she wasn't thirsty. Even better, the band was playing a series of slow songs. "Maybe we should start with a dance?"

"Food it is, then, m'dear," Arianna tipped her head slightly, nearly losing her hat, but catching it just as it fell off her head. Instead of putting it back on, she held it in her hand and walked with Krissy to the tables. "Hmmm, I can't decide..."

Lily smiled. "Well then that's a good thing I don't go around kissing just anyone I meet. There's only one man I want to kiss and he's looking at me right now." She smiled again and she stood up on her tip toes as best she could and lightly kissed him on the cheek. "Word as bond," she repeated. "Whatever that means." Nic warmed inside as her lips graced his cheek. She kissed him on her own. That's important. She was making progress with him and he liked that. He was proud of her. "Then I won't let you out of my sight. I'll be the only man you'll look at. Hey, can I have a kiss on the other cheek? Don't want this side to feel left out." Nic laughed as he thought about her last comment. "Word as bond or Word as B is the equivalent of I'm dead serious. No jokes, no lie."

"But it must've been bloody fun!" Beni grinned, trying to imagine him jump from the floaty table where the professors sat. She was daredevil herself, but under controlled and safe circumstances. Otherwise, she was open to trying new things. Dan nodded, "It was fun, expecially with half of the school watching. Now I am held together with by no more then screws and medicine." He grinned again sheepishly. Although it seemed to be a joke, he was honest in all of his words, for he used screws for the bones he had broken. And medicine for his allergies. "But then again, bungee jumping was pretty awesome too."

"I'd love to try bugee jumping. I'd like to try a lot of things, now that I think of it," Beni pondered outloud. "But of course, the 'rents are always blabbing on and on about safety issues. But if I died, at least I died doing something fun, naive, and dangerous." She smirked. "You've tried bungee jumping already? How fun was it?"

"Naive? How is bungee-jumping innocent? Oh, a chance in a lifetime, it was great... until the person who had fitted the cord choose too long of one, and my partner and I broke an arm each. But other then that, it was all great." He left out the gruesome details, as they were neither pleasant, nor interesting in his opinion, for he had broken more then an arm, he dislocated a shoulder, and almost had a concussion, but at least it was great.

"You heal from that eventually," Beni said nonchalantly. But she also happened to stop blinking and leave her outh open a little as she heard him.
Before any worse case-scenarios could come to mind, she focused on the pyhsical world, and at the moment-- the Deej's eyes. "Has anyone ever told you you've got the most brill blue eyes this side of the western civilization?"
