As a long day of classes came to an end, a very tired and less hyper Roxanne Ashford made her way into the Staff Antechamber. After dinner had been served, she simply could not make it back to her bed without resting somewhere.
She, of course, being a responsible House Head checked with her Hufflepuffs before going to relax in the small room as others finished up supper. Roxanne ran her hand through her hair, as she came upon a big fluffy couch which seemed to be calling her name. Falling back on it, she yawned, looking the fireplace. Certainly, she wasn't going to fall asleep or anything. But after a long day, it felt great to be somewhere by herself and relax.

Becca was sitting at the work table grading Arithmancy papers. While her office was far more comfortable, the racket was nearly unbearable and she often ended up in the staff room to do quite work. She had obviously lost track of time and missed dinner, something she did quite often. It wasn't until she heard the yawn that she realized what time it was and that she wasn't alone in the room.
"Long day?' she asked the new professor, smiling over at her.

Half asleep, half awake, Roxanne was staring mindlessly at the fire infront of her. Not much to think about...which meant truly at any moment her mind would wander off into the unknown.
Before weird and annoying thoughts could take her over, Roxanne perked up a bit at the sound of another person in the room. Odd...she really hadn't seen anyone as she had come in. Not that she minded at all, either. Most of her time at Hogwarts had been divided between getting the Hufflepuff house in order, preparing for her Charms classes, catching up with Sammy, meeting with students...et cetera. That left no time whatsoever to get to really meet any of the other professors.
Roxanne recognized the woman who was grading papers, and she nodded and smiled a little in return. All she could remember was something about her first name starting with an 'R' which left her in a terrible situation - yet not hopeless, either. She knew her last name...Davenport. Professor Davenport....because she truly was bad at names, and she didn't want to make the mistake of calling this woman 'Rachel' or 'Rose' or something...or heck, even 'Roxanne', for that was how bad she was with names. Besides, she didn't even know what the woman wanted her to call her.
"Good Evening, Professor Davenport." she nodded in reply again. "Very long day...both classes and students can be terribly exhausting."
She noted that apparently Professor Davenport was grading papers, and gestured to them. "Apparently your day hasn't ended yet?"

"Not for a few more hours yet," Becca sighed, stretching her shoulders a bit as she smiled over at the other woman. "I'm beginning to think some of these students need to learn the basics of grammar and punctuation before we can ever hope to teach them the basics of magic."
"You're teaching the Charms classes now, correct?" she asked, thinking this would be a good time to take a break and get to know her fellow professors.

"Well...despite what you may have heard about me of being somewhat of the ditzy blonde, I do give a lot of points in learning correct grammer...goodness, just learn how to form a sentance and figure out when you have a run on. It's a shame though, I can never find much of an adequate time to assign good long essays within my class..." Roxanne considered, before nodding as if in affirmation of her own statement.
It was a wonder, really, that Roxanne had chosen to teach Charms in the first place. She was heavily bent on writing long essays...research essays, persuasive essays, whatever. Just as long as it had been some sort of...well, essay. The downside to it all, though, was that she was embarrasingly horrible in mathmatics, or any sort of form of mathmatical equations.
"Yes, I do teach Charms now..." she answered the woman, nodding. "I've also managed the Head of Hufflepuff positon. I've got a good bunch in the house..." she said, then considered, thinking upon a small few. "Well...naturally there are acceptions of that statement."
"Aren't you the one that teaches two classes, not just one? I believe you teach Arithmancy...if I'm not mistaken." she nodded.
Before she let the other woman speak, she slipped in one last statement. "Oh...if I'm distracting you away from anything important, I can head back to the Hufflepuff dorms...."

"My formal training is in Magizoology," Becca answered proudly, waving away the offer to move. She could use the break. "But yes, I'm teaching the Arithmancy courses as well. Or, at least until a permanent professor can be found. Though I must say, I hope Tamis isn't looking too hard. I've gotten rather used to it and it is, really, only one more class than the rest of you teach."

"I can barely manage Charms classes, let alone Hufflepuff most days...just don't have the energy like I used to. Though, that's debatable." Roxanne commented, a small smile emerging from the corner of her mouth. "I would probably walk into class teaching the wrong subject matter, and not figure out I was doing anything wrong until the end of class."

"Oh, I've done that before," Becca answered, waving it off as if it were nothing. "Taught a sixth year class to the third years a couple of terms back. I would have probably figured it out earlier if the Ravenclaws hadn't been answering every question anyway."
