Drew hadn't acknowledged Jack's arrival, but his hand most certainly did. "No discounts for late arrivals!" it insisted, being very bossy but obviously feeling much better now that it had a little lovin' again. It popped back up to the top of the table and looked at the girls.
"Taking requests!" it announced loudly to the audience. If it didn't know what was requested, it would deal with it somehow.

Not expecting the hand to talk to her, Jack's look became puzzled but not at all disgruntled. "Late arrival? You started early," the third year replied talking directly to the hand placing her hands on her hips as if to show some attitude. She smirked and thought about the next satement said by the hand. A request...hmmm, Jack thought to herself and laughed. She had the perfect thought. "You're from the US....you should know this one. I want to hear Barbie Girl by Aqua." It was one of the most girly, and outrageous songs Jack could think of.
At home, Al hated when she played it. Jack couldn't help herself though if she loved the group. It was another secret obsession she had. She smirked slyly, Let's see him pull this one off.

Arianna's hand welcomed the kiss, knowing all was well now. It smiled (however a hand smiles) and playfully swatted at its love's 'bum'....if you can figure out where that would be, congratulations and encouraged him to to well with his next set before heading back up top with Arianna, who stared across the table, waiting for the next showing to start. She was determined not to let recent events affect her. It wasn't like she had a choice in the matter anyway.
"Oooo! ooo!" Arianna's hand jumped up and down at the request. "We can do a duet!"

Celina was, for the most part, confused as anyone could be at this point. What in the world was 'Aqua' and 'Barbie Girl'? Celina could tell she was in a treat this time as she sat on the bench to watch the show, she leaned up against her arm. She looked at Jack, who was trying to show what little attitude the young Ravenclaw could show. ---------------------
Emerald walked around the whole circumfrence of the Great Hall, meowing three quarters of the way. No one was paying any attention to her. That figured. She walked back to the Ravenclaw table where everyone was at. Celina was sitting and Emerald jumped up onto the bench to curl up into the girl's lap. If she hid well enough, maybe Celina would let her stay during dinner. Just as any human, a cat had dreams, and this cat's dreams included chicken.

"Nonono!" Drew's hand insisted, not wanting to back down from Jack's challenge by asking for backup. "You can have the next set!" it told Arianna's hand and it blew a kissin her general direction.
The hand turned on Jack, a little put out by the snippiness. "And you need to read the schedule more carefully! It says specifically that the show starts at five..." The hand tried to look at the watch which was around its wrist, but wasn't having much luck. "... Five thirty seven!" it finally announced, glaring as best it could to the late comer.
That said, it went into its routine. "I'm a Barbie girl in a Barbie world! It's handtastic made of plastic!"

Furrowing her eyebrows slightly, she looked at the girl not knowing what the song was. Instead, she turned her attention over to Arianna's hand as it began saying it would sing a duet with Dew's, before her attention was drawn to Drew's hand telling the girl she was obviously late. Well, only the hand puppet would really know when the performance was meant to start, unless there had been an advertisement up in the Ravenclaw common room about it.
Watching with interest for the next song, she slipped her own hands under the table and lightly clasped them together. When he began the song, she couldn't help but let a small giggle leave her.

"Touch me here, touch me there!" Arianna's hand sang under its breath. It felt a little dejected that it couldn't sing a duet with Drew's hand, but that's how things always went. He made the decisions and she could only sing with him if he wanted her to. Of course she wasn't happy about it, but there wasn't much she could do. Except stop singing. Which she did, and disappeared into Arianna's lap. She was getting a little tired of doing her own hand puppet, but was more than willing to sit and watch.

Celina just took in the atmosphere. Drew was singing a very unusual, what seemed even....dirty....song, Jack was still standing and watching, Ari had started singing with her own puppet but then seemed to give up as she was not welcomed to sing the song with Drew, and Felicity was on the other side of Celina just watching and enjoying herself. Peting Emerald, whom seemed to make herself comfortable in her lap, she wondered if anyone else could feel the tension that was surrounding the poor shy girl. Celina fidgited a little trying to enjoy the show, but all she could think about was when the food got there, everything would go back to normal and everyone would be distracted with the food than the hand puppets and so on.
Watching the hand, she became lost in her thoughts. She had to write to Alfonz, her parents...mounds of homework....studying.......paper article and deciding who she was going to interview.....and that was only if there were no distractions in where she decided to do her work. She was lost and her expression showed it...it was just like always....preoccupied with what needed to be done, and not focusing on what was being said or done around her.

The stage hand (which was obviously the one not performing) decided to do a little of its own nibbling on Felicity's fingers as its counterpart finished the song.
The problem with taking requests was the singer might not know the whole song and unfortunately for Jack, the refrain was pretty much all Drew's hand knew. Good thing it was most of the song. It sang it a number of times through, to prove that it was trying its best to please its audience and when it felt that it had done a sufficient job, it took another bow and waited for audience response.

Jack couldn't belive it, but the Prefect actually knew what he was talking about! And to think, she had only thought that he could ride a broom, he could actually sing too....to an extent. Jack clapped and yelled out deeply, "Bravo!" Almost asking for an encor as the hand took a few bows. Jack then decided to take a seat next to Ari, since Celina's sides had been taken and Drew was still under the table, so sitting next to him would have been a bit awkward. She smiled at Ari, and noticed that something wasn't exactly right with her. She didn't feel as bubbly as much as the Quidditch captain usually felt. Then she had another great idea, this one for Ari. "Ya know, I was wondering if you could give me some pointers later about flying and I was wondering if you'd be willing to help." It was genuine and sincere. Jack could see the older girl was not as chipper and just wanted to cheer her up a bit. Flying on a broom always helped Jack a bit, maybe it would be the same for the Ravenclaw Captain.

Celina heard the song stop and before she knew it her instints followed the crowd and she was clapping right along in a small and polite type of way. She heard Jack yelling 'bravo' and all she could do was bite her lip from laughing and hoping that Drew really wouldn't. The more Celina watched Jack she fond that she must idolize the Prefect. Again, rolling her eyes to herself, she figured, well, we all have to have a role model I guess. In a small way, Celina was glad that Drew was Jack's. At least it wasn't anyone that could lead her down the wrong path....per say.

Another faint blush found its way over her cheeks as she felt Drew's other hand nibbling on her fingers, and she lightly bit down on her bottom lip trying to concentrate her best on the singing hand. Extending her hands a bit further under the table, she lightly took his hand in hers and began to slightly play with it, not entirely sure what exactly it was she was doing.
Smiling a bit more over the table at his other hand, she waited for it to stop bowing before offering her own request. "What about Yellow Submarine by the Beatles?" she asked with a faint laughter.

A very loud thump was heard from under the heavy table and both hands left their spots and ended up on Drew's head, rubbing what was sure to be a pretty decent sized lump. The prefect's voice drifted out in a low groan, "We all live in a yellow submarine..."
The hand finally made its way back onto stage, resting on the edge. "Sorry... we're experiencing... technical difficulties," it explained slowly, sounding less like itself and more like the strange man under the table.

Felicity took in a sharp breath when she heard the boy hit, closing her eyes she brought her hands up from under the table in buried her face in them. She shouldn't have grabbed at his hand. Sighing slightly when she heard him trying to sing her song, she brought her hands away from her face and saw his hand across the table again. Ignoring it, she leaned off to the side and peered under the table.
"Are you all right?" she asked, concern on her face. Her brown eyes apologized to him, not wanting to voice that it had been her fault, at least not in front of everyone else. She'd find time later to apologize for the incident.

Celina jumped and held the table down at the sound of the thud, as if the table was going to go somewhere. For a split second she had no idea what had happened, for she had zoned agin petting Emerald and paying no attention to Drew's hand. If this was how the whole dinner was going to go, maybe she'd go sit at the other end of the table where no one sat. At least then her company may include a certain someone, who she didn't mind sharing meals with.
Drew's hand then started singing the song that Felicity had asked it to sing, as if nothing had happened. What in heavens? Celina said to herself leaning back to see if everything under the table was ok. She looked at the boy, and rolled her eyes noticably.
Sorry, we're experiencing technical difficulties he said from underneath the table. What was going on?
