Puffing slightly, a brown haired girl stopped at the front of the castle and threw her trunk down unceremoniously. That walk from the village was something else. Apparently there would be a carriage waiting for her, but if there was one Diaz had missed it, and rather than stand around in a new place she had decided to go on alone, a decision she wasn't sure had been for the best. Looking around, the new fifth year dragged her belongings and sat on the front wall for a few minutes to catch her breath. Didn't know I was so unfit... Maybe they have a gym here? Shifting her eyes back to the castle, she shook her head and smiled slightly. The thought of a magical castle as grand as this having something such as a muggle gym was obserd.
Shaking the thought off and taking one last sigh, she picked up the handle of her trunk and began up the staircase to her new home. It reminded her slightly of her grandmothers house, except for the sounds of other young people, and a few other strange noises which she couldn't place, to her these voices and such were welcomming. At last I'll finally be able to have friends... The thought warmed her slightly, although to some people starting a new school could be a daunting thing, to her it was good and a great change. Diaz was quite a confident girl, and the thought that she wouldn't fit in didn't even enter her mind. Mulling all this over, she pushed open the doors, then stopped again in the middle of what appeared like the entrance hall.
Admittedly it had appeared big from the outside, but she hadn't expected this. So many different doorways and staircases leading one way and another. Gazing around, Diaz stopped and frowned, mainly at herself. They didn't give you instructions for nothing... Slipping her hand into one of the many pockets her robes seemed to have, she pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of parchment. Studying the writing for a few more minutes, and then double checking it, she still wasn't one hundred percent sure which way she was supposed to be going, but she couldn't just stand and wait for assistance could she?

Dragos needed something to do. He wanted somewhere to go, and he wanted someone to talk to. He'd been in the Common Room for a long while now, and he decided it was time to get back out explore, despite the last events that occurred when Dragos decided to explore. That hadn't been the best of situations, but oh well. Live and learn.
Coming out of the Common Room, Dragos walked slowly along the dungeon corridor, scowling at that wretch door as he walked past. It was still blown all to pieces, and Dragos quickened his pace as he walked past it, still limping slightly. He looked down at his totally thrashed foot and sighed. Stupid...dog-thing.
Dragos walked up the stairs that lead into the Entrance Hall, intent on going to the Great Hall to see if there was anything to eat. He could have just gone to the kitchens, but it was almost dinner anyways so he just went up there. As he entered the Entrance Hall, Dragos eyes landed on a girl standing there. He could only see the back of her, so he really had no idea who it was. Was it someone new? Dragos hoped so. He knew what it was like to be the new kid, and he hoped he'd be able to help the girl out.
"Need some help?" Dragos called out to the girl as he started to walk toward her.

The girl's eyes flickered over the various exits from the entrance hall, just as she was deciding whether to go up the main staircase or take one of the smaller sets, she heard a voice from behind her. Diaz turned and smiled, realising the male, another student, she thought looking at his robes, but clearly not in her house, was addressing her.
"Oh hi, kind of. You can probably tell I'm new," She said, pointing back at her assortment of belongings and giving a small grin. "I'm trying to find the Ravenclaw House, I have been given some instructions but there not exactly crystal clear." She glanced back at the parchment and back at the first person to offer help. "I'm Dee." Realising she hadn't even offered her name, she corrected that and hoped that somehow she would be able to find her way around this castle, which in her opinion was growing by the second.

Dragos smiled at the girl as she confessed to being somewhat lost. He remembered his first day at Hogwarts, but he had been lucky enough to find someone that was in his own House to give him a hand. However, Dragos felt he could help out the new Ravenclaw too. "Very nice to meet you, Dee," the Croatian teenager said and then gave his own name, "I'm Dragos."
Thinking for a moment, Dragos tried to remember if he actually knew where the Ravenclaw House was. West side of the castle, he knew that for sure. Sixth floor? Seventh? Maybe it was seventh. And something about a gargoyle...
Dragos knew he was terrible when it came to directions. He didn't really know the way to her Common Room, but he did know some other things. The elves. "You could probably just leave your stuff here," Dragos commented, "The house elves will take it all up to your dormitory."

"Nice to meet you too," She smiled and looked back at her luggage at the mention of elves, yet another thing that would remind her of her grandmothers house.
"Thank goodness, I did have a feeling they didn't have elavators here, and I was somewhat wondering how I was going to drag all everything up however many flights of stairs." Of course Dee had thought about levitating her things but she wasn't yet sure of the policy of performing magic outside of the classrooms.
"I don't suppose you know anyone who would be able to help me find the common room? It would have been a lot easier to have just sent someone down I suppose..."

Dragos couldn't help laughing as Dee said she figured there wouldn't be any elevators. "Elevators would make it a heck of a lot easier to get around this bloody castle," Dragos agreed, grinning, "But sadly, there are none. Only staircase, upon staircase." He shrugged slightly, and stuff his hands into his pockets as he always did when he was nervous. Why he was nervous was a mystery. He assumed it had something to do with the fact that he was the first person that a new student was meeting, and he wanted to make a good impression. So far, Dee hadn't run off screaming and flailing her arms, so he assumed it was safe to say that he was doing a fairly good job.
"I believe your Common Room is in the West of the castle. That's a pretty big section, and I'm afraid I can't quite remember what floor its on. I really shouldn't know in the first place, but oh well," Dragos shrugged again as he was sure other people knew the exact locations of Common Rooms that weren't theirs, "But it's almost dinner now, and the Great Hall is just over there. I'm sure you'll be able to find another Ravenclaw in there."

"I'll presume that means food as well," She grinned, starving wasn't the word to cover how hungry she was at the minute. "Turns out when you're the only passenger on that school train they don't bother sending out a packed lunch for you." Tucking the tatty parchment with what was supposed to be guidelines to the common room on them back in her pocket, she turned and looked at what she supposed was the Great Hall.
"So what year are you in? Or since they accepted me as a fifth year, how long have you been here?" She asked Dragos. Dee had more than your average amount of curiousity, and sometimes it tended to out as nosiness.

"Lots of food," he corrected her. "Lots" didn't really do a Hogwarts feast justice. There was always way more than enough food, but most of it was usually devoured, as it was always just so good. Dragos felt his stomach grumble as he remembered how hungry he was, and that the Great Hall had been his original destination.
"I'm in sixth year," he replied. Dragos would have guessed that Dee was a little older than fifth year, just from the way she looked, not that it really made a difference to anything, "I'm positive there'll be another Ravenclaw floating around in the Great Hall somewhere. Not that I'm trying to get rid of you or anything," Dragos winked at Dee and grinned to show he was kidding. He didn't want to ditch her, but he did want her to find someone in her House. It was just easier for her than wandering around the West wing, trying to find the Common Room.

Usually she would have had more trouble leaving her belongings behind but the urge to find where she would be living for the next few years coupled with the urge for food overcame her cautiousness.
Dee laughed at his wink, not a giggle she wasn't a particularly giggley person, "Ya know if you want rid of me all you have to do is say. And by lots of food I hope you don't mean haggis and such...." She wrinkled her nose slightly, her mum had already warned her about scottish food and she was slightly wary about trying something that came from the inside of a sheep. As food entered her mind more, she was less worried about finding the common room, at one point or another she would have to venture around this castle and find her way around anyway, if it was today then so be it.

"Haggis?" Dragos asked, "No way. We've got normal food here." Dragos chuckled slightly at her comment. Haggis. He might have jumped out the window of the Astronomy tower if they made them eat that. Dragos had had it once when he was younger, and it had not been pleasant.
Stomach grumbling again, Dragos rubbed his hungry belly and began to walk toward the Great Hall quicker. "I am so starving right now," Dragos stated, "We better hurry up. The crowd is gonna come stampeding down those stairs anytime now."

Dee laughed, "No but haggis is normal for scottish people." She nodded and followed him, yet again astounded by how big one room could be, and it was already half filled with students, just how many people could stay cooped up in one place? The smell of hot food sauntered into her range and instantly made her think she was drooling, wiping her mouth just to make sure she grinned at Dragos.
"Now this is something I could get used to, and in a hurry." Her grandmother had never starved Dee but she was constantly told "It is never good to be seen eating certain things in company Diaz." At least so far it looked as though it didn't matter if you were seen chomping on a plate of french fries.

Dragos glanced sideways at Dee as they entered the Great Hall and he smirked. The first time one sees the Great Hall is actually quite spectacular, and Dragos was still astounded by it sometimes. Scanning the Hall, Dragos spotted some people he knew were Ravenclaws ad pointed them out to Dee. "I see some Ravenclaws over there for you," Dragos said, his Croatian accent thicker than usual, "My table is right beside yours. Of course, it is the loudest one. Some of the Slytherins are exceptionally obnoxious." Dragos rolled his eyes as he watched his House for a moment. Bunch of goons.

"Ah yes, my grandmother told me about that house," What Dee actually meant, as she eyed the Slytherin table was that her grandmother had once been in that house. "Though when she told me she wanted me to be in it." She smiled and rolled her eyes slightly. "No offense, but you don't really seem typical of what I know about it, for one thing before talking to me you didn't ask me about my parentage." Dee grinned, knowing how some people were about pure blood and such the like, hoping it was a safe assumption about Dragos that she was making.
"The stories you hear about this place really don't do it justice," She stared at the ceiling, which for one thing certainly didn't look like any other she had ever seen. Her eyes shimmered in the lighting of the great hall, flicking them to her wrist to check the time she realised she had left her watch at home after being told it wouldn't work here, although presumably it was either lunch or dinner, she wasn't exactly sure how long the train journey had been.
"So can you break the rules this once and sit at the table I'm supposed to be at? Or would that be breaking rules or just strange?" Dee asked looking back at the only person who was familiar now. Walking into an entrance hall alone had been one thing, but sitting with a bunch or strangers was another altogether.
