Leaning against the wall, Celina was hurt, frustrated, scared and utterly bewildered as to everything that was going on. Rubbing her eyes, she had just left her History of Magic class and needed to be held. Her brother’s embraced was one that she longed for and as she wandered around the ground floor, she went to her specific door (the door that Alfonz had told her would always be her entrance into his office) and tapped on the door with her wand, muttering the magical words between slight sobs that she knew would make the door appear.
Swirling and spiraling, the magic of the door transformed itself as another door appeared. The golden engraved A.J. was visible now and Celina just couldn’t help but sob more heavily as she knocked on the door…actually, Celina pounded on the door a bit louder than she would have normally, but she was desperately in need of Alfonz to be there. To hold her close…to chase all of what had happened away from her mind.
As the door began to open, she didn’t even wait for the fully formed figure of a man to be there before pushing herself through and clinging to what she knew to be his robes. She sobbed and released everything as she started to sink, her knees giving out from beneath her.

The beginning to the year as a slow and tedious one, and with as much planning as the older Jedynak was doing concerning his departure from the Deva, Alfonz had hardly any time to work on what his job consisted of, or even spend as much time with Celina as he wished he could. It was true that they still ate together at nights sometimes within his quarters, and even other times they had just relaxed together while Celina had played her harp for him to ease his mind. He couldn’t tell her exactly what was plaguing him, for it was just worry the girl to no end, not to mention she may try and find someone to help him. Alfonz didn’t need help…he just needed more time that he found he didn’t have.
As the knock came at his door, Alfonz was sitting behind his desk, again going over notes that were pertaining to extracurricular activities. The knock seemed insistent and almost as if there was something wrong, but Alfonz could think of no one who would be able to find his door so easily to pound such as they were doing so. He shook his head annoyed like and reluctantly left his desk to go and see whom it was that was at his door.
Just barely the door opened and a body came rushing in, pushing him back a bit so that he had to rearrange his footing and knocking the breath out of him just slightly. What the hell? Looking down, his sobbing younger sister was in distress and his arms instinctively wrapped around her and shut his door.
Alfonz felt her weight give, and countered it by holding her up against him, then slowly they both sank to the ground. Alfonz knelt, bringing Celina into him and holding her tightly, resting his cheek on her head. “What is it, Celina? What happened?” If it had been any of those good-for-nothing friends of hers, then this was the last straw…

Her brother only held her up for so long before the both of them were on the ground. Alfonz knelt, brining her in closer to him and she wrapped her arms around his waist and just continued to sit there and cry. Everything was so horrible; her friends had left her, even Connor. The History of Magic teacher was deranged and wasn’t one to mess with in her mind, and as she hugged her brother she could already know what he was beginning to think.
“Pr…professor Griffiths…” Celina sputtered. “And Drew…Felicity…Connor…” she let out another sob and shook her head. How did she explain this to her brother without him getting too upset at her friends, and yet telling him exactly why she needed him so badly to comfort her? “I…I was…was…scared,” she said between sobs and she shook her head, burying her face within his robes. Her body shuttered and she held tightly to her older brother. She didn’t know what all went down, nor that her brother could be right again about people. She wanted to believe her friends really cared….but if they did…wouldn’t they have stayed?

This was impossible. Through Celina’s sputtering, Alfonz could hardly make out any of the words she was saying. His eyes furrowed, however, as he heard how she was scared, and still the fear resonated within her voice. He’d heard it one too many times before in their household growing up and Alfonz never would have expected it here at Hogwarts. Wasn’t this building supposed to be safe? Obviously, since he was there, he knew the truth the whole time. There was no safe place it seemed for a Jedynak.
“Come on,” Alfonz said, actually picking his sister up within his arms. She wasn’t about to move the way she was going and he needed a better place to sit rather than kneeling on the floor. Taking her with him over to the chair in front of the fireplace, he sat down, allowing his sister to gently sit upon his lap. She curled up into a ball as she had done when she was younger and Alfonz pushed the hair that had fallen in her face to one side. “It’s alright, Celina. You’re safe with me…tell me what’s going on.”

As shocked as anyone else probably would have been if their brother scooped them up in their arms, Celina wasn’t. Actually, she almost expected it, and so when Alfonz said to ‘come on’ she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, holding tightly to him, leaning the side of her face on his chest, tears still streaming down her face.
As he sat down, she curled herself up into him. Celina clung to Alfonz’s robes and continued to cry as he cooed to her that everything was going to be all right because he was there. She was safe, and that was why she had come to him. She knew she would be safe. After a few minutes of him holding on to her, Celina’s sobs stopped as she continued to keep her eyes shut and started to breath deeply and more calm like.
Tell him what happened?
“It happened so fast…” Celina started not really knowing where she was going with it. “I went to class and we have a new professor.” Celina smoothed out nonexistent wrinkles that were on her bother’s robes to keep her eyes occupied as she told her story. She didn’t want to see how her brother would react. “The professor wanted us to change our clothes…”

It took a few minutes, but Alfonz was in no rush. He didn’t want Celina to feel rushed into telling him what happened, for he knew it was better if she felt as comfortable as possible. Her breathing slowed, and Alfonz could feel the slight rise and fall from her lungs inflating and deflating against him. He gently stroked the back of her head, finally resting his hand on the back of her neck and caressed it gently.
“All right, Celina,” he whispered to her. “What’s going on?” Alfonz feared that she wouldn’t say. They hadn’t been talking as much as they used to, but he blamed that on himself rather than her. He had been busy…he knew he shouldn’t have been.
It happened so fast… She paused, breathing and stroking his robes lightly. He squeezed her tightly in his arms, taking in her essence and leaning his cheek on the top of her head. I went to class and we have a new professor. It was all starting out normal, what had gone on? The professor wanted us to change our clothes…
“WHAT?!” Alfonz freaked out grabbing Celina making her face him. “A professor wanted you to change your clothes?!”

Before she could even continue her statement Celina was being turned toward her brother to look at him. His eyes were plastered with concern, worry, and a bit of anger. “You didn’t let me finish!” Celina yelled out at her brother, her voice wavering as she was rocked back and forth. Putting her hands out on Alfonz’s arms she stopped him from waving back and forth and shook her head. “Oh, Alfonz…it was awful…but don’t talk until I’m done, ok?” She pleaded with her eyes. “Just let me finish everything…”
Celina situated herself back into her brother and she looked up at him this time. He looked absolutely horrified, and yet he held himself quiet. “Yes, he wanted us to change our clothes right in the classroom in front of each other. Transfigure them into roman getups so that the class was more interactive or something like that. Felicity asked him why we had to, the professor got upset with her and said if she didn’t he’d do it for her. Drew got angry and talked back to him, too and then the both of them left.” Celina paused, letting Alfonz soak everything in and then continued.
Celina shook her head and squeezed her brother. “He was yelling at them,” she whispered. “I didn’t know what to do…then the class went from one way to another,” she shook her head. Celina didn’t know what happened. Everything had gone so fast and she missed almost everything. “Then he started lecturing and he came near me and sat down next to me to give me the notes when I asked….” She hesitated to continue. “With the fighting and such, I missed taking down what the professor said.” Celina shuttered and shivered in her brother’s arms.
“And then, before I knew it…” Celina whispered, closing her eyes. Tears streamed down her face as she remembered watching Connor leave as well. Sorry Celina, this is bullocks…I’ll talk to you later… Connor’s words echoed in her head as she whimpered and began to cry again. “…my other friend Connor left too….and no…no one else came to…” it didn’t matter. Griffiths had yelled, thrown books, her friends had walked out leaving her to fend for herself…but now she was safe.
“Alfonz…” Celina whispered, making herself as small as she could in his arms. “How mad do you think Pa’pa would get if I didn’t attend History of Magic?” she slightly sobbed knowing that her father would be disappointed and angered by it…but maybe, Alfonz wouldn’t tell anyone, if she didn’t go.

Alfonz didn’t like the sound of what was going on. A professor whom asked of his students to change their clothes in front of one another, (Alfonz didn’t care if it was transfiguring or not, for that could go terribly wrong any ways,) yelling, throwing things…and then approaching Celina as if to give her special treatment or something? It sounded sketchy to Alfonz and though her friends, as always, didn’t help the situation, Alfonz worried more that she would have to return to the class.
She started to cry in his arms again at the mention of a new friend’s name and Alfonz just shook his head. “I’m telling you,” he said to her softly. “It doesn’t matter who the person is, friends or people who claim to be as such are all the same. They’re out for themselves…” he shook his head and embraced her, wrapping his arms around her completely enveloping his younger sister.
Though he wasn’t pleased with the situation, he knew that his anger was better focused elsewhere, and with his eyes storming furiously with rage, he wouldn’t direct it at Celina. He knew better….and didn’t want to chase her away any further than he normally did. “Celina…I’m so sorry this happened. If I have anything to say about it,” he paused. “It won’t ever again.”
However, when it came to her missing the class both Jedynaks better. “You know how our father would feel…don’t worry, Celina.” Alfonz pulled her in nearer to himself. “I’ll make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
