Failure.
Most of the students probably knew that word very well at this school.
For all he had hired, had failed him. And now Michael Rolen was just the same. For as easy as he was to persuade, it should have been the first clue to Alfonz that he was brainless as well as spineless.
Celina and Drew were now in contact and all had fallen through. Alfonz had been so close to finally getting through to Celina. Showing her exactly what kinds of friends she had with their own actions towards her and reactions towards her after she gave away Hjort to Shaw in order to save all of their lives.
But now, with no help from Rolen obviously, she was reconnecting with them, and they to her. It was infuriating. Alfonz was so close to showing his sister the way in which people worked, and yet her kind heartedness kept a door open for her friends to return. Well he was one loose end that had to be tied…
…tightly.
Alfonz stood outside of a random door waiting for the boy he had owled to report to him. And not only that, but he had a surprise for the boy in store. He fully intended to keep his end of the bargain, getting word in on Rolen’s wants to become a pro quidditch player, but that was of course only if the boy kept his mouth shut.
It was either that, or eradicating the boy’s brain…
…And Alfonz really hadn’t gotten down his memory altering charms.

Mike had been somewhat suprised at the owl from Alfonz but always had that inkling in the back of his mind that it would of been coming any day since Celina had become friends once more with the ones that Alfonz had wanted Mike to keep her away from, and to be honest how did he expect Mike to do that AND still keep the friendship he had with Celina.
Now if they hadn't been such great friends in the first place, it could definitely have been achieved but it wouldn't of left much of a friendship after all and that being said there was nothing Mike treasured more than the friendships he had at that moment in time.
So as he made his way up to Alfonz's office, he went there with an open mind but knew in the back of it that he wasn't going to be happy about what had happened but Mike was just going to tell him straight up, he couldn't control people and make them do what they don't want to do and plus Celina is young and Alfonz if he sees them that way should let her make her own mistakes as that is just part of life and growing up.
He reached the door and knocked hard, not even hesitating...

Alfonz watched as the boy knocked on a door that he wasn’t even standing at. Frustrated, Alfonz sighed and shook his head. “Rolen, this way.” He called over to him, turning towards the door, that wasn’t the door to his office either, and touched the tip of his wand to the door, letting the purple sparks fly and seap into the door.
The door started to transform into the familiar door that Alfonz had come know well. The golden A. J. appeared on it, and Alfonz was able to open it as soon as it was completely formed. As he did so, he looked back and gestured to Rolen to enter with him. This was sure to be one meeting he was sure the boy would not forget.

Mike turned and felt a shiver travel up his spine as he looked at the face of the man whom had once been one of the Faceless and had infiltrated the school not so long ago....oh how easy it would be to rat on him if he tried anything in this supposed meeting.
He couldn't read Alfonz's face like he normally could with other people so Mike had no idea how he was feeling at all....it could be a good thing or a very bad thing, but Mike walked into his office confidently and plonked himself down in a large arm chair, with his trademark cocky grin on his face.
"Whats up?"

The boy was a menace that had to be dealt with. As Alfonz walked around to his desk, he got two glasses from his desk and poured a bit of brandy into each one. Bringing the glasses over to where the boy sat, he offered the beverage. “Brandy, my dear boy?” It was the kiss before the betrayal.
Excellent.
“What’s up, my good lad is that you are no longer needed in the agreement we had. You do recall last January, do you not?” Alfonz asked him, taking a sip of the Brandy and raising an eyebrow at the boy.
“I was unaware of how easy it was to secure a position nearer to Celina…” Alfonz shrugged. His own cocky smirk crossing his face. But that was about as much expression as he would give. There was nothing he wanted more from this boy than to listen and listen well.
“Besides…it’s not like you were actually doing the job I requested of you any how.” Alfonz’s eyes narrowed, and his glare became cold as ice. Now was the time, to tie up loose ends from the past before Celina’s sixteenth birthday.

Mike shook away the offer, for one he didn't drink alcohol as it was somewhat the devil's bane for sportsman around the world and two he had no idea what Alfonz may have done to it or intended on doing to it.
"Naturally I recall it, I mean why wouldn't I"
He said back in a rather calm voice as he looked around the office, taking in his surroundings before speaking once more, but one note he took of the office was that Alfonz wasn't one to show off the highlights of his quidditch career.
Musn't be any good then
"And what do you expect me to do....control every aspect of her life to make sure she had no contact with Thornton or that other girl and ruin any friendship I have with your sister?"

Alfonz snorted. Ruin any friendship? As far as Alfonz was concerned, the only friendship Rolen had with his sister wasn’t anything that she couldn’t do without either. Why not get rid of all of her friends that she had, and start completely from scratch? Now that was an idea.
“No, of course not…” he said sarcastically, placing his own drink down on the fireplace mantle where he had placed the drink that Rolen refused.
“But nevertheless, she’s being used again and frankly, even I have to step back and reconsider my own goals in this school. Those however, deal with having nothing to do with you.” Alfonz shrugged. It wasn’t that much of a harsh truth, and frankly he did think that the boy would agree that they needed no longer to be in contact. Alfonz had once accepted him, even thought of him as a useful, enlightened individual. Someone somewhat worthy of Celina’s friendship…
Not any longer was Alfonz’s mind clouded with Deva members and faceless masks.
“Of course, I always keep my end of the bargain. Would you like to know what I’ve done for you, Mr. Rolen?” He asked the boy. If he didn’t, well then things would have to be reconsidered…”I assure you, you’ll like what I have to say.”
…and risks would maybe have to be…taken.

Mike had wanted an end to all this deciete anyways so as he saw it, Alfonz had just thrown him and easy way out and Mike intended on taking it. He still couldn't believe that Celina would just sit back and allow her brother to try and control her life like this, didn't she have any self respect.
"Go on"
Mike said after Alfonz spoke of keeping up his end of the bargain, deciding to ignore the main reason why he was there, because as far as Mike was concerned he was free from Alfonz's clutches.

A fools thought was one that there were any real easy ways out. Alfonz was as much of a fool as Rolen was being right then. He was just as much stuck with Alfonz, as Alfonz was just as stuck in the Deva he tried to escape from just weeks before. Both men were trapped, and soon, Rolen would come to understand that too. Just in highly different, and not as lethal ways.
“The next quidditch game…and from what Raynor tells me, there will be one more before the end of the term….I have invited all of the recruits I know to come and watch your skills. Easy way to get yourself recognized…” Alfonz paused raising a suspicious eyebrow. “That is, if Celina’s confidence in your abilities is truth over Drew Thornton’s thoughts on them.”
He walked back around and leaned up against the wall next to the fireplace and just looked at the boy. There was always a catch, and this was the time to say what that catch was exactly.
“But of course….there is one little catch…”

Ah yes, always a catch there is.
But Mike was already way to excited for the next Quidditch match now, he would have to put his all into the game to get noticed by the recruiters. He couldn't start to imagine what it would be like to be recruited by one of the top teams in Europe.
"So whats this catch?"
He asked Alfonz, because for all he knew the catch could be something that made the whole deal not even worth it in his eyes....but you never know

It had worked so well, too well. But it had been just as him and Raynor had been speaking of; the spider luring in the fly into a web he couldn’t fly out of. This quidditch player…was just like all the others Alfonz had to put up with every day on the field.
Their lives led solely based on the wood between their legs. Pathetic.
“The catch…you must never speak a word of what you know to anyone. Because I have my connections, dear boy….” Alfonz paused giving Rolen’s mind time to process everything he was saying. “…if I can get you recruiters that easily,” Alfonz scoffed, “I can also ruin your career just as easy.”
Alfonz looked at the boy, wondering if he should tell him to also stay away from Celina, as well. Alfonz decided against it, for if he was idiotic enough to think their relationship was close, then Michael Rolen would probably throw away his career options and go to Raynor. Merlin knew that he had pressed his luck too far already with the older woman. He didn’t need Rolen ruining everything else for him as well.
“Do we have a deal? You are to speak of nothing…frankly, we know don’t know each other. Got it?”
