So then maybe Hendrix didn't want to leave for the hols. The fright awaiting at her place was just causing her deep breaths of anxiety. So her mothers found out about what she did over the summer. When she was clearly supposed to avoid Spain altogether, she had gone directly to it, searching for her now financially well-endowed father. The results were dismal and not in her favor, for her father expressed an obvious unsatifaction for the way she turned out. And as quick as she appeared there, she was there no more. The plan in itself was a failure to doom her brain for months, and she would pay for it in her soul when she came back to Sherylyn and Ana.
With her holiday trunk levitated patiently, she looked at the door and at the staircase. Face the mums? Or perhaps face Willy? She hadn't talked to him in some time since the incident, and she wasn't looking forward to it anytime soon.
And yet despite the fact that she was barely five feet from the entrance door, she dropped the levitation on her trunk and sat on it. She didn't have to go, she knew. She was 17 and all, making her a right-thinking adult.
But she childishly kept still. "But I don't want to leave..." She frowned.

Stepping out of the Great Hall, Rael's eyes immediately landed on Beni. She looked unusual, not cheerful or bouncy, not normal. Rael's dark eyes watched as Beni dropped her trunk and sat down. Perhaps the ever-cheerful Gryffie was having issues about leaving for the Holidays? Rael had decided to stay at Hogwart's for the full time, rather than a partial amount of time like usual. Anything to avoid her mother and sister.
"So then stay," she answered Beni. Rael did not know of the situation at hand, as she had been hiding out all semester, but if Beni did not want to leave, why sit stock-still and contemplate? Rael moved in front of her and sat on the floor, knees pulled to her chest. "Beni, I do not believe I have seen you look so down."

She had looked up in the ceiling when the voice of her friend caught her and took her back down to earth. She considered disappearing in a poof, but she remembered that she couldn't avoid her best friend. That, and she couldn't Apparate because of the charms and the castle, not to mention that she didn't have her license yet.
"I'm having images of what's to come in my mind," Beni said with a sad sigh. "Are the mums going to be mad? Are they going to tell me that they told me so?" she propped a hand under her chin. Immediately her hair created a curtain around her. She blew it away. "I mean, it was such a blimey bad mistake to visit my daddy when he barely even wants to call me by my first name."

The look on Beni's face told it all, she obviously hadn't meant to be seen. Rael knew the basics of what Beni meant as she spoke, but she was unsure of the full depth of the situation. Hiding out all semester did not do justice to a person. Of course she knew of Beni's plan to visit her father in Spain, and she knew a bit about what had happened, but that was the full extent. It was obvious she was a bit down about what had happened, and was possibly a bit afraid that her parents would react like five year old children on the matter.
"I do not believe they would tell you 'they told you so,'" she told her friend truthfully. "It was something you had to do, and they knew it would happen sooner or later that you would try reacquainting yourself with him. I doubt they will be mad about anything." This was not the type of situation Rael was used to. Normally she would figure a way to get out of this kind of situation, having to talk to someone when they were going to show their emotions well, but Beni was also someone Rael would be more than happy to stick around and chat with, after all it would just be wrong for her to leave her housemate alone. Besides, Beni was more than just a housemate, she was her best friend.
"Why do you think it was a mistake to visit?" This was a part that could prove to be interesting.

"I could only hope," Beni murmured towards Rael's theories. Sure, they weren't the types to really rub in her face the fact that her father subtly disowned her without even having a decent conversation, but wouldn't they at least want to?
The next thing Rael said, it almost turned Beni's stomach in knots. She felt like she made a fool of herself, despite the fact that she had to act uncharacteristically demure and calm. "It was a mistake because his bloody wife doesn't like me. She gave that look-- you know that one, right? The one where it looks like even her eyeballs were snobby and prudish. And he just wasn't all for me showing up out of the blue. We talked five minutes-- FIVE MINUTES! You can get a better conversation with a bloody elf-- and then he was giving me that distant reminder that the rest of his life was just a bit more important than the life he created FIRST! Ha! Bet he's never heard of 'first dibs', because I claimed him first! And then he called me 'Miss Hendrix'! Like he was a bloody boring teacher! Meodia!Ynoseporquetampoco!Monpapamen'aimepas!Bastardo!" Her rapid trilingual ramble would have gone on longer if it wasn't for the next action.
She had scratched off a sticker when she broke a nail. "And I broke a nail! Maldito sea! The days of hard turmoil have come upon me."
(hehe, sorry that the different languages aren't space. But here's what it says: Hehatesme!AndIdon'tknow, either!Mydaddoesn'tloveme!Bastard! and Darnit! Well, the latter not really, lol)

The first thoughts that came to mind were those of Fairy tale stories. The one's where the Stepmother never appreciated the first daughter of her husband. This definitely reminded her of such a situation. As Beni continued, she felt saddened. Of course, it could have been her father was surprised, and enough so that he did not know what to do. Beni's rant complete bewildered Rael as she was not well acquainted with foreign languages. And the look on her face showed her confusion, though she had a good idea as to what Beni had said.
Not being one to comfort another in such situations, she really was unsure of what to do. It would have been obvious to hug her friend and tell her everything was all right, and would be as well. However, Rael was not the type to comfort another, and so sat there, thinking.
"It may not have been what you think, Beni. Have you tried writing to him? Explaining everything you feel?" Sometimes, people responded better when they did not have to face the situation. It was possible he would react better in writing. "Maybe seeing you caused him to act on first instincts, rather than what he should have done." It was possible.
((it's okay, I understood the majority of it))

"Bloody hell," Beni said as she looked up at Rael. "His first instincts is to chuck me out of his house?" Her outburst wasn't meant to yell at Rael, but it was the first thing she thought when she said it.
"I haven't tried owling him. If I did, he wouldn't be too keen on it. He's a bloody Muggle who doesn't like magical people, it seems," she had sunk her face in her hands, but rose back up. "But I suppose if I use that slow, Muggle way to write him, I could maybe get him to be on my side."

Beni's outburst did not even slightly disturb Rael. She understood, the way she had stated her thoughts led to rather insincere ideas. It was not that she wanted to be insincere, but rather she could have stated her words better. The real fact of the matter was that most tried to protect what they had, what they knew. And since Beni's father knew the family he has, it was instinct to protect that, not the so called 'intruder.'
"Now that is the way to think," Rael replied brightly. Muggle writing services. If she knew much about them, she too would understand it was an extremely slow way of contacting another. "Approaching him the way he is used to would make him feel more secure, and it would give him time to think before reacting."

Beni let Rael's words sink in. It did make a click for her. "By Merlin! You're right, Forstner! Give him a friendly letter via Muggle post, and I'll have got me a daddy again!" The optimistic thoughts of that and the worries were fading away. She went to give Rael a hug. "You're an angel and a genius!"

Gratefully she hugged Beni back, at least she seemed to be back in her jolly mood. Rael just hoped that it did not get her further detatched from her father. After the quick praise, Rael just smiled.
"I would like to think along the same lines, but I think it is more of a stroke of brilliance after a long dimmed time." It was true, she had been hiding in the den for so long, it seemed a social skills, thoughts, and ways of talking had left her. At least she was half-way through the school year, and after that it meant it was time to need to have use of social skills for the world outside of Hogwarts.

"Oh, but you've always been a brill gal to me," Beni said truthfully as she let go. "That's why I keep ya around!" She laughed in a joking manner. She sighed through her nose. She had to give Rael another hug. "I'm going to miss you terribly, mate." It was up to Rael to interpret it as a short term kind of missing or long term.
