From the Sports Section of a Daily Prophet Article:
March 31st 2008. Alfonz Jedynak, the household name of any Quidditch addicted family. The first syllable of his name melts the heart of any teenage (and not so teenage) girl, with wild hopes of capturing the mysterious and elusive teen-sensation's adoration. And who could blame them? Jedynak's record is infallible. One of the elite Quidditch Players of our time with a record to make him idolized in any prospective Professional ogled gaze, this Keeper has a promising career ahead of him. Or should I say had?
It is no secret that three months ago, Jedynak underwent the harsh and unjust scrutiny from the Ministry of Magic for being an "accused" member of the purities organization The Deva. In fact, the claims themselves came from none other than the lunatic ex-auror Devin Brady, whom had previously assaulting the innocent Jedynak earlier last year with similar claims. While the assertions went unfounded, and his future as a Quidditch Star went unscathed, it leaves one to spectacular that our young Hero on the pitch would hold a rightful amount of animosity against Brady.
You could imagine my shock then, when Jedynak not only abruptly turned his profession aside, but accepted a job offer at none other than Hogwarts School of Witchcraft of Wizardry as an assistant referee. A school, housing not only that arch enemy Devin Brady, but home to Vampires and questionable administration. The only question I can come up with is: Mr. Jedynak, just what are you thinking? Surely there are more fulfilling occupations out there for a young man such as yourself, with so much going for him, to choose from?
The hearts of teenage girls may suddenly have had their wishes come true, but has Jedynak run his career into the ground? Experts from the Which Broomstick express that The Polish Grodzisk Goblins are willing to reestablish him as their Keeper as soon as he tires of the freak school. If fact, he has simply been demoted to the "Reserve" Team roster.
The situation surrounding the acceptance of not only a referee position (something suited for Professional washouts) but as an assistant is fishy to say the least. One must marvel; can Alfonz Jedynak truly be that desperate?
But maybe this is not so much a show of faith in Hogwarts School as it is a show of distrust? Rumor has it that Jedynak's younger sibling (a fifth year Ravenclaw) was a victim during the Deva Invasion. Does he find the school so unsafe that he has to throw his Talent down the drain to oversee her future safety himself? Only Mr. Jedynak himself can answer that question, but he was unavailable for comment.
Whatever your motives, Mr. Jedynak, I hope they are worth it. For this will definitely blemish your career.
