01 December 2007. Ministry of Magic, London. Five days ago, the Aurors were sitting on their hand and St. Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries was checking its wards for any escape psycho paths. But the witch that stormed through the levels of the Ministry of Magic was not a missing patient; though may very well become one with further analysis. On November 25th, 2007 the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry created havoc inside the Ministry, half-crazed and apparently not in her full mind. Apparating in the Atrium around noon, she failed to check in with security and proceeded directly to the Minister's personal office. Shortly after, she was lead out restrained and surrounded by a dozen aurors.
The Minister's offices refused to let us in, proclaiming "no comment" as to what occurred within the walls of that office, but we managed to track down Elinor, the Minister's personal secretary and she shed some light on the issue: "The woman was batty, absolutely balmy. She threatened the Minister with his very life! Even the poor aurors were afraid to act. Though one of them was kind enough to catch me when I swooned..."
No doubt we had quite the crisis on our hands if the aurors would not defend their Minister. Or, perhaps, they were reluctant to hex a former colleague? Maybe even supportive of her actions? One will never know. But Tamis Raynor, formerly Tamis Gallaudet but now reduced back to her maiden name after her mysterious divorce to her ex-husband Banks Gallaudet (no word on the matter of custody over Leah Gallaudet, their daughter), and a predominant member of the Wizarding Community is not a force to be taken lightly. A retired auror, commended duelist, and a member to a once highly regarded (and very rich) pureblood family. And also a witch reputed to get quite fiery when her temper is provoked. Can we truly blame the aurors and their biased behavior?
"It was only a matter of time," stated a concerned wizard, "the woman was off her rocker. Hiring fouled aurors and vampiric beasts during the Headmistress' busniess trips. Its about time the hag got thrown away."
Raynor had been the center of controversy for some time now. Bringing not only less than savory characters into Hogwarts and not only overstepping her boundaries as Deputy Headmistress, but also in the classroom. The Professor was well known for unusual teaching styles, including bringing creatures as deadly as Lethifolds in the classroom, and not only preforming Unforgivables in front of her students, but placing the Imperius Curse on them as well. An illegal act in itself.
The Ministry's kindness for overlooking these matters were poorly repaid with this assassination attempt on the Minister of Magic, Wallace Thornbrush, himself. The Ministry of Magic reports that the Minister is fine and in perfect health. Such an act is horrific and unexcusable from a woman entrusted with educating and standing as a role model for out children, as Jaccob Corrion, a long-term veteran as an Auror agreed:
"The actions of Deputy Headmistress Raynor were inexcusable and in violation of not only the common law, but of respectable courtesy. So, before the flood of owls enter my office, I only did my job. You don't like my job, complain to my Department Head."
Sentencing of one Tamis Raynor, former Deputy of Hogwarts, will be determined at a later date, following a full trial. But what about the fate of the school? What is to become of it now? It will continue on as normal, in full control of its Headmistress Fiona Ticloon. The Ministry of Magic has hinted at becoming more interested in the ongoings at Hogwarts. Our govermnent wishes the community to be able to rest assured that a castastrophe of such a manaic teaching our children will not happen again.
