Aurors deem case 'Closed and Cold'
As the entire wizarding world recalls, Avery Thorne was murdered nearly nine months ago this week. And it is at this time the Senior Case Auror on the Thorne murder declared today that the case, was closed. It will go down as unsolved.
The announcement comes as a heavy blow to both the Magical Law Enforcement Department, as well as Chief Warlock Cody Thorne, brother to the deceased and recently promoted Head of the department of Magical Law Enforcement. Mr. Thorne was unavailable for comment.
Crime scene wards are still in place over the Shrieking Shack to this hour, however local residents are relieved. "It means less stress for the visitors and those of us who live here." Claimed Miranda Kilbur, a barmaid at the Hogs Head pub. Also in agreeance is Issac Just of Surrey, here for the day. "Its a ruddy shame to see a good woman's death go unsolved, but its also a ruddy shame to have to put residents of a good town through so much stress for three-quarters of a year."
Senior Auror Jacob Corrion made himself available for comment, when asked on his personal views he had this to say:
"I hold deep regret to not being able to solve this case, however the case aurors and all the other personnel involved gave it their all. Thats the best we can ask for. Perhaps in time the killer will be caught. My sincerest apologies go out to Madam Thorne's relatives as well as to the wizarding community as a whole. They simply slipped through"
"...Simply slipped through..." This sounds like the same words this reporter heard eight years ago when the Death Eater's 'slipped away'. This reporter, isn't satisfied.
