Dirt found the Night Bus to be a very unpleasant experience. Being jerked so hard that she fell out of her over stuffed chair or being flung backwards was not her idea of a pleasant ride. “You’d think wizards would have a pleasanter way to travel…” She mumbled as she jumped off the bus outside the Leaky Cauldron. Her father couldn’t leave Burkins so she was here on her own for two days to shop for school supplies. She jumped off the Night Bus, slung her rather empty duffle over one shoulder and entered the rather shabby looking Leaky Cauldron. She paid for a room for two nights and deposited her stuff in the room before having the bartender open up the passage into Diagon Alley.
It was only around eight in the morning but the street was still filled with motion. Dressed in jeans that were dark blue in color, a dark red t-shirt, and a camo baseball-cap turned backwards that concealed almost all off her short brown hair, Dirt felt like she stuck out a bit among all the robes.
After exchanging her muggle money for the very odd form of wizard money she pulled out her list and set to trying to find the right store. The first store that she came upon that held items required on her list was the book store. Flourish and Blotts was the name. Dirt had never been one much for reading but had been in a few book stores, this was nothing like what she had expected. The store was quite loud, books were stacked haphazardly from the floor to the ceiling and anywhere in-between, and everything in the store seemed to be moving. On closer inspection though she found that the books themselves were not moving much but the pictures on the covers were.
Entranced with this new sight she wandered farther in. Stopping on more than one occasion to simple watch the moving pictures or the odd people in the store, on such an occasion where she had stopped to watch two wizards dueling on the cover of a book she was bumped into. Caught by surprise she stumbled backward into the nearest stack of books, one that came up to about he waist, and almost tripped over them but regained her balance at the last moment and sent the books toppling to the floor. Her face grew red with embracement ash she bent down and hurried to pick the books back up.
