Ok, so it wasn't Claire's first time in Diagon Ally, but it was her first time in the famous Weasly shop. Normally when it came to shopping, she wasn't really allowed to go with her grandparents and older brother. Unless Claire begged to go for ice cream and go to Quality Quidditch Supplies to look at stuff. But today, Claire and her brother Paul were alowed to go to Diagon Ally with no problems. "Just stay out of trouble." Grandma warned them as they set of toward Florish and Blotts.
"Hurry up squirt! If I'm going to take you to Wealsy Wizard Wheezes then you better walk faster!" Paul shouted from the street. "Claire just rolled her eyes, "Like you are any faster" the eleven year old shouted. Sometimes her brother could be a big pain, mainly because he was two years older than herself.
Once the two entered the store, Claire immediatly ran inside amazed at everything in there. More likely she was going to spend all her money here at this rate. Unfortuantly, as she was looking at the instant darkness powder, Paul thought it would be funny to ditch his sister for a little while thinking it would be hysterical to see her reaction. But she was too preoccupied with browsing around. Not like she came to Diagon Ally everyday now right? Besides, she needed to stock up on some stuff before she left for Hogwarts.

"Hehe," snickered the brown-haired boy as he entered the shop, looking over his shoulder out to the main throughfare of Diagon Alley. Whereas Claire had been ditched by her supervision, Leon had ditched his own. He and his parents were taking the shopping gradually. They had stopped by the apothecary earlier, since it was where they would get the most stuff, so Leon had his Potions ingredients, scales, and cauldron already.
On their way back to the Leaky Cauldron, though, Leon's eye had been caught by one store in particular. It had some very flashy displays, and he saw the name of the place: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes. Leon wasn't an expert on London, nor on Diagon Alley, but he had heard about this store. It was supposedly a haven for jokers, pranksters, and troublemakers; it sounded like a perfect sidetrip to the soon-to-be student. So, as soon as he and his parents had gotten back to the Cauldron, Leon sneaked back out, getting to the joke shop by memory.
Once inside, Leon was entranced by the variety of items that they offered. He began walking around, trying to take in everything at once. Doing so wasn't a very good idea, though. He had been walking around for hardly a minute when his lack of attention on where he was going caused him to run headlong into somebody. Although he hadn't been running, or even walking very fast, the collision made him try to grab something for balance, which, in turn, made several packages and boxes fall to the floor as he grasped for them. He ended up not pulling a faceplant into the ground, but he still landed not-so-gracefully on his rear; he didn't know if the other person had fallen down or not. "I'm sorry!" he exclaimed, eyes diverted, slightly embarassed about having walked into somebody.

Claire still hadn't been paying much attention to whatever was going on around her. So many awsome things in a shop can do that to a person. Especially Claire who still didn't notice her brother was missing, or just staring at her from the window hiding himself whenever she turned around. Wonder how much I can sneak into Hogwarts without getting in trouble? she thought looking at some firecrakers. But, before she could continue her thoughts, Claire felt something or someone run right into her.
Claire wasn't knocked down by the force of the collision, but it was enough to knock her off balance slightly. "What the bloody..." she exclaimed as she saw a boy on the ground. And by the looks of it, everything he carried ended up on the floor. "You alright?" Claire asked as she bent down to take a look at the boy. Though she still wondered how he ran into her since he didn't crash hard enough to have knocked her to the ground.

"Yeah yeah, I'm fine, no worries," Leon sputtered out quickly, shaking out his head for a moment. Nothing like a fall upon your tuckus to jar your mind back into the here-and-now, after not paying attention... although not in the most user-friendly way. "What about you, you alright?" he asked, looking at the person he had run into for the first time. He was a little more embarassed that the one he had run into was a girl, although this might have stemmed from the fact that she had remained upon her feet while he was on the ground.
He scrambled to his feet, picking up a couple of the smaller boxes he had made fall, and putting them hastily back onto the shelves. Or, he was, but then looked back at the girl. "Hold on..." Leon said, thinking for a moment, crossing his arms. This girl, she looked about as he old as he was... she was about as tall as he was, at least... "Hogwarts?" He asked, with a single word, his head tilted slightly to one side, contemplative expression on his face.

"Trust me, I've had worse." Claire smiled when the boy asked her if she was alright. Which was in fact true when you have an older brother who picked fights with her. Claire bent down deciding to help the boy pick up some of the things he dropped, but he seemed to already have most of that covered. She managed to put something back on the shelf as well when the boy asked her, "Hogwarts?"
Claire picked herself up and answered, "Yes, I'm starting this September. I'm guessing you too right?" Judging by the hight of the kid, he was probobly an incoming first year like herself, but it was better to ask.

Leon smiled. So this girl was a Hogwarts student, another incoming firstie at that. "Yep, you guess right," he said to the girl cheerily, uncrossing his arms. He knelt back down and picked up another few boxes. He had thought he had made an entire wall of boxes crash to the ground, but it looked like he only managed to unseat a shelf's-worth, most of which slid back into place without question. An employee was nearby, but she hadn't come over to them; she had seen that they were picking everything up, and she had other customers to deal with anyways.
"Heh, where are my manners, I thought they taught me those for a reason," Leon said once he put the last box in it's place. He turned to the girl, and extended his hand. "I guess I oughta introduce myself. Leastaways to a fellow first year. I'm Leon Kendall," he chirped.

Claire shook Leon's hand and smiled. "I'm Claire Desrosiers." she replied. Well, at least she meet one first year before actually going to school. Actually, it made her wonder how many first years there would be amoung all the older students. Especially since she was going to be bugged by her third year brother more likely. But that didn't really concern her all too much. Even if he had started laughing his head off outside when Leon crashed into her.
"So, what brings you here in the first place?" Claire decided to ask to spark up at least some conversation. "Where you in such a hurry here you bumped into me?" she smiled.

"Claire, eh? That's a nice name," Leon mentioned as he she accepted his hand and shook it. He meant it when he said it; he thought the name suited her. Of course, his own mother had the exact same first name (which was perhaps a reason why he thought the name was a good one just in itself), but Leon decided against bringing that particular comment to the surface.
Claire had offered a conversation starter, which Leon took up without a problem; conversation was much better than silence. "I heard about this place, and I passed by it earlier with my folks. Decided to come back on my own and scope it out, you know?" Leon smirked, glad that he had managed to escape his parents' notice without a hitch. "What about you? You didn't exactly make much a move out of the way yourself."

"Yea..." Claire smiled. "Well, I didn't see you. But me and my brother were allowed to come here for a little while. Actually, we had to beg before they let us come within twenty feet of this place." Once Claire finished speaking, she looked to the place where she last saw her brother to find he was gone. Go figure...he probobly thinks he's so funny trying to get me worried. Well, I won't. Claire thought as she looked back to Leon.
"But, this is the first time I've set foot here. Normally my grandparents make me stay home. Trust me, nothing but boring things wait for me there."

"Heh, 'boring'... I've been there plenty of times before," Leon commented, his smirk becomes more of a regular smile. This girl seemed alright to him. He thought about his own folks might not have let him come here willingly, even if he had begged. Which was the whole reason he had sneaked here; even asking beforehand might have put them on-guard.
Leon put his hands in his pockets, looking around slightly. He didn't see anyone near them that resembled Claire in the slightest, so he doubted any of them were related to her. "You mentioned your brother? Where is he?"

Claire just rolled her eyes when Leon asked about her brother. "That's a good question, I don't know and don't care." she said. "Besides, he's the older one looking after me so if my grandparents found out he lost his sister it's on his head." Claire thought it wasn't going to be too much of a problem finding him. But it wasn't as if she couldn't find her way back to the Leaky Cauldron...right?
"What about you? Who are you here with?" Claire asked looking around.

Leon arched an eyebrow slightly at Claire's retort. Spunky, not bad. It was nice to know his classmates weren't afraid of little nothings. At least, one of them wasn't. Made two over all, anyways. "Here with my parents, that I am," he replied to her question, not at first grasping that she probably meant here in the store. He got that bit a second later. "Although, I'm here-here by myself. Gave my folks the slip... probably start something if they knew I was here." He grimaced a little at the thought of what his folks might do to him. Wasn't the best mental imagery. Not for an 11-year-old, anyways. "Though, I suppose you could say I'm here with you now," he noted. "What time do you think your brother will come looking for you?" { One month... ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png) VERY sorry... ![:-[](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/embarrassed.png) }

{It's alright ;D }
Claire looked up at the ceiling pretending the think about when her brother would come for her. "Well, I would expect him to come running in when he sees me having a fit over losing him." she started. "But considering he's not very patient I would think he would come whenever he gets mad over the fact I'm not in hysterics. If he doesn't come, then I'll just go back to the Leaky Cauldron without him." she smiled.
Even though it seemed like a good plan, Claire wondered how her grandparents would take it if she returned alone. Then again, if her grandparents got mad at her brother it would serve him right for ditching her like that.

Leon smiled right as Claire did. "Sounds like you have a pretty good plan, then," he said. "Shouldn't go off badly, unless your folks get upset that you're around on your own." Leon didn't see why they should get upset, as long as she got back to them alright, but that was just one of those things about parents, grandparents in this case. They just got upset sometimes. If they found out about stuff, that is. "So, you're staying at the Leaky Cauldron?" Leon asked. "Are you staying there, or do you guys have a house nearby?"

Claire shrugged, "I guess my folks would get a little upset if I come back alone. More likely because they don't want to see an eleven year old walking around the streets, especially with some strange stuff going on." Indeed, Claire had been hearing some strange things from her grandparents about somethings at Hogwarts and most of them weren't great exactly. But she didn't really want to worry anyone about it, especially if Leon hadn't heard already.
"But anyway, yep I'm staying here for a little while." she continued. "I live up in Scotland so my grandparents thought it would be a good idea to get some school shopping done early and explore a bit." However, Claire would have to say she was doing more exploring than her folks lately.
