Was it odd that the Leaky Cauldron and Diagon Alley felt more like home to Keagan than her brownstone in Rhode Island ever did? Probably not as odd as how that seemed to be the case with every home away from home the seventeen year old had: Uncle Jack's, Hogwarts, and even her friend's homes in Rhode Island when she visited.
Once again, the Gryffindor sat at the pub counter nursing a drink finely crafted by the kind barkeep this blustery London afternoon, apple cider this time, wondering why the witches and wizards at the Festival of Yule couldn't have the good fortune to have beautiful weather everyday.
Instead of venturing out into the storm, Keag had opted instead for people watching. There was always traffic in and out of the pub this time of day, either heading onto the Alley or off it. She wouldn't be comfortable sitting here alone for very much longer, though. Some of the seedier people would start drifting in before long.

Boy was this next customer a seedy one. The burst of winter wonderland attempted its way into the Cauldron, but it didn't make it too long before the person that entered closed the door. "Why did I bother with suede today?!?" The person exclaimed, and instantly seemed to wash away any kind of seediness. More like outgoing, and rather insane.
Beni was feeling rather fond of the warm butterbeer they served there. That and some fish and chips. And with no other place to go, she had her route directed to the gateway of the British wizarding world. Looks like it would do her some good, for after brushing off the melting snow, she looked up to see none other than the face of lion. Thankfully that was not literal, but it was still something to give her some pride and come at the person for a hug. "Keagie? Is that really you, sweetheart?" Beni grinned.

Keagan's ears perked up significantly as she heard an exclamation from the doorway. She hadn't been watching the door itself, but that voice sounded awfully familiar and drew her attention quickly.
A broad smile drew her lips apart as she spotted the source, who she instantly recognized. "Ben-Ben!" Keagan replied, not sure where the nickname had come from, but not noticing in her excitement. The seventh year quickly stood and embraced the witch who was coming toward her.

(Woo-hoo! Barney!)
Brittany walked through the main street of Diagon Alley searching for something to do next. She had been visiting various stores, shopping for what she needed or, more often, what she found that she liked. Feeling her red nose and numb fingers needed a break from the icy day she found her hand closing around the door of the Leaky Cauldron. It would be nice to have a warm butterbeer or two, she figured, before setting off into the blistery day once more.
The blowing snowflakes quickly fell to the floor as the woman pushed the door shut once more. Heat instantly meeting her face, she realized she could once more feel her nose again. Looking around the pub, she instantly noticed the two entangled figures at the bar that seemed to either be hugging or fighting each other. Cautiously coming closer she recognized Benita Hendrix's face peering through golden blonde hair that she soon saw belonged to Keagan Gerislynn.
"OhmygoshKeagsBeni!" Brittany called, mushing all of her words into one long word. Weaving around tables and chairs as fast as she could, she threw her arms around the two girls in a wave of excitement.

Beni hardly had time to exclaim Brittany's name before she had another set of arms around her. If everyday were full of joyous reunions, then she'd be a set person. Somehow seeing the two in one moment without notice brought tears to her eyes. It was just one of those times she wanted, and it was great to finally come to it. They were there, and it suddenly washed over memories of Hogwarts. Not just classes, but silly times in the dorms, the still moments, the sad moments. It was all there in one embrace and she wanted to keep that hug that they all were connected in.
She tighted her grip, including grapsing Brittany's arm. "I... missed... you guys," she sniffed through sudden sobs. Her heart grew heavy for them. How she honestly missed them. Each day that separated them from the last time they saw each other only grew a bigger impact on her that she was experiencing right now.

Tears flooded Keagan's eyes as she was enveloped tightly in a mess of arms. Her face was too buried in Beni's shoulder for her to reply to Brittany's enthused greeting, but the seventh year knew she was there. In her excitement, Keag slowly began to bounce, ruffling the embrace a bit but refusing to let go.
"I can't believe you're both here!" she exclaimed, though her voice was muffled. Of course, she'd hoped that she'd run into one or the other of them, but she didn't think it was very likely.

Brittany was so thankful that her nose had been about to fall off. Or else she might have missed this quite rare gathering of three best friends reuniting. She only held on just a moment longer before she decided that it may be time to let them breathe. Taking a step back to wipe a couple tears and gather her self she saw the two of them fully for the first time. It seemed like years since she had seen them, even though it was only about half of one. Somehow they were different, older granted, but still the same great lionesses.
Dressed in comfy shopping clothes and not even wanting to think of what her hair looked like, she began unbuttoning her top coat. She had always been a wimp in the cold and had to dress in many layers before even thinking of stepping beyond her doorstep.
"What do you say we get a table?" Brittany asked before setting her jacket over the back of a nearby chair. Hopefully neither of them were in much of a hurry so that they could visit. She figured she was pretty much done with shopping. Especially since her feet were killing her from walking in and out of every store down the street.

"Cheers to that!" she exclaimed through her sniffles. It was a bit of a pain to let go, but she couldn't be suffocating them all day. If she did, then that would be another surprise, but not a good one. Taking off her now-signature hot pink robe, she dug through the pockets of her pants.
"In fact, the first round's on me, sweeties! I got a nice tip from a rather zealous musician today. And I was going to spend that on myself. But you guys are so much more worth it." She smiled and waved her hand for some service. If there were any kind of melodramatics that day, it was swept away at the site of two faces.

Grabbing her cider off the bar, Keagan grinned and took a seat in a chair at the table Brittany had chosen. She could settle in comfortably now; being in a group would deflect the seedy people.
"Don't go spending your money on me unless you're willing to let me pick up the next one!" Keagan exclaimed, laughing, as Beni gestured for the nearest waitress.

Brittany sat down in the chair her jacket was on and set the few bags she had in her hand down beside her feet. Listening to both of them argue over who would buy what rounds, she decided that it was a great time to smooth the snowflakes-turned-water-droplets out of her hair. As the waiter came over she order a hot chocolate and requested the mini-marshmallows as well. Surely the drink would thoroughly warm her frozen toes as she attempted to wiggle them down in her boots. Deciding that they would unthaw eventually, she gave her attention back to her two former schoolmates.
"Alright so let's have it. I want to hear details, both trivial and life-changing, new information, gossip, anything! The two of you seem like a complete mystery to me these days, not that you're to blame.... But please, let me have the earfull!" Brittany asked of them, wondering what they had been up to since she had left Hogwarts.

"Ooooh, you got it, Gerislynn," Beni grinned and ordered herself a tall glass of butterbeer, motioning for Keagan to relinquish her order. "On my tab, dear," she said to the waiter with a bat of the eyelashes and giggle for the girls. Beni did have coworkers to natter about with, but they had much more adult lives and they were too "posh" that it was rare to experience a real girl chat moment. With her Gryffie girls, that was always possible.
"Me? I'm still with Ben, 12 months strong. Ah! By the way, he's training to be an auror! I kept myself as a good girl down at the DLC, and getting some beautiful tips might I add. Let me see... paying bills, having guilty pleasurable shopping, my cat Jettie is still biting me, the little bugger. Gah! I don't know what else to tell you other than my holiday season is absolutely great now that you two are in front of me! Now I'm done. Who's next?" She had her eyes on them, watching what they did. She was really just recording the moment in her head. It would take more than chance the next time they would see each other.
